Thanks a lot

Does anyone have the individual champion results for this tourney?
-
Didn't this happen at a Penn State meet last year also?
-
Westview, Lakeland, Central Noble, West Noble, South Bend Adams, Fort Wayne Concordia, Penn (Their "B" Team), and Angola.

I like the new section for tourny brackets. Looks good.

DeLong verse Bo Butler Kokomo
Don't know if I would call this an upset. Butler had no offense. He just tried to out muscle. Doesnt work so well at this level.

I've seen Lee wrestle many times and I am personally rooting for him to have a good run at state. I do wish best of luck to Kayla though, and would not have a problem seeing her make a run of her own.
-
I think there are some very good wrestlers at 113. However, I don't think that they are anywhere near the level brooks is on. I think we could see some quality matches for 3rd place though.

The backflip is always a nice and quick one.

Sounds like you need to find a "NEW" girlfriend!!!!!
Haha, I was thinking the same thing
-
My girlfriend put a ban on talking about wrestling until we get to Indy.... The anticipation is killing me.

It's nice to see an athlete from another sport give wrestling credit on how physically and mentally exhausting it really is.

So I am sitting at work reading about all of these great Friday matches and I realized that I am excited to go to state this year more than any other. I think we will see a lot of quality matches both Friday an Saturday. I think this will be a year to remember. Good luck to everyone this weekend!

Escobedo should be a good candidate.

Yeah Cogsrove would rock the pink socks and 119lb singlet when he was 45...lol
His singlet rode so hi he'd make John Stockton blush.
Never thought I would see a Stockton reference on a wrestling forum. Well done, sir.

Everyone saying he is overrated and not a hardworker. Im just saying you can argue with me when any of the other kids are a 2 time state champ, third place finisher and going to wrestle in the big ten at on of the nations best colleges.
I just think that saying that he is the best wrestler in the state is a bit much. No doubt he is a very good wrestler, but he is not the best wrestler in the state by any means.

I love unbiased opinions!!
Beat me to it!

My personal favorite was the Anderson Highland plaid singlets too bad well never see them again but what's your favorites?
I agree with the Highland plaid. It is pretty sad we will never see those again due to high schools in Anderson merging. I like the suit ones also, but I have only ever seen the kid wearing one lose under the lights. I think it happened last year if i remember right. Made me laugh a little, I wont lie.

I like the idea of rewarding a dominant rider, or perhaps I like the idea of punishing a kid that can't get out on bottom. Either way I wish high school had riding time.
I understand the college riding time rule is not feasible for high school as timekeepers can barely handle one clock that only ticks down. I can't imagine the chaos of having to keep track of two clocks, with one of them ticking up and down.
I propose a simple riding time rule. Ride a kid the entire period and you get a point. Thats it. If the other kid chooses down and can't get out the rider gets a point. The kids that man up and choose top get a point if they ride the whole period.
Thoughts?
Even though I don't think a rule like this will ever happen, I kind of do like the idea of getting a point for riding an entire period. It rewards the kid on top, especially if the ref is one who is scared to call stalling. Although, I do think a ref would have to be more aggressive in calling stalling on a rider who isn't trying to work.

Also they just opened up.a Tilted Kilt where Jillians was located, the Kilt is big on the west coast pretty good place for food & drinks
The have a pretty awesome BBQ burger and some nice beers to go along with the atmosphere.

LaHue 4 Davis 2 in the Semi-Final. He was never in trouble but Davis wasn't either. It was a nice takedown that beat Davis. LaHue 6 Shoettle 3 in finals. Shoettle was overmatched in every way. LaHue has a pretty clear path to the Semi-Finals and I would expect him to perform well.
Sounds like he is looking to perform come state. Thanks for the info.

Who wins? I think this will be a great first round match up. I haven't seen LaHue wrestle but he definitely seems like he can be the real deal. If Moser decides to be on his game Friday I could see this being an upset if you would call it that.
What were the scores of LaHue's matches at semi-state? How dominate did he seem?
-
Binerstine is definitely underrated and Definetly handled the ft Wayne semi state pretty easily. With tht being said, I believe him and Kral will have a great match for third place with Bass and Knura under the lights.

170 - noticed Tanner Adams defaulted in semi-finals to Weber & consolation finals to Starks to finish #4 seed. Did he get hurt?
Looked like he hurt his ankle. He was on crutches for the second half of the day.
