Fc wrestling mom. I apologize for the comment. I agree he is a good wrestler and that why I picked him to win his class. I am sorry this is your sons senior year I know what you are feeling it is a sad time when that happens. I wish him the best of luck as I do all the kids in the tournament.

my predictions:
106 Kennedy hands down
113 Coureur
120 Lahue by pin
126 Jamison Ward has a slight chance
132 Marler- even if he is hurt
138 Meenach and Troutman could go either Way. Troutman only has 24 matches, probably could not make weight
145 Emily
152 Meldrum
160 Franklin- Heron will spend more time on his back than Emily did the other night against Lampe
170 Bagwell
182 McCutchen
195 Bannet
220 Ottersbach
285 Jolly

meenach beat Spray 19-4 two weeks ago
-
Lahue beat Jamison 8-5. It was a pretty good match
-
Stuart wrestled at 138 tonight against Spray of Southwestern tonight and was pinned in the third period. He was down 11-3 when he was pinned.
-
looks like meenach is 6-0 . all pins except 1 and the only kid that has went the distance is Boonville and he beat him 15-2. Troutman is pretty good but he has to get through meenach to make it to Semi-State. I don't dissagree that he might be top eight but I would think you would throw Meenach in there somewhere
-
SHaffer from Owen Valley was very impressive against Franklin. Franklin hung with him very well. Meenach weighed in at 136 and bumped up to 145 and was very impressive. nobody had anything for him all day 1 forfeit 3 pins and one decision against Booneville and it was 15-2. I think he will be a factor at 138.
-
Is Marler that big, I figured he would be 138. I don't see the Meenach kid from New Washington on here either. He should be a 32 or 38. Did he graduate?
-
I would like to let the wrestlers that have made it to semi-state that you have made a great accomplishment. do not let the comments that we make on this site effect your wrestling Saturday. any one at this level can win. The only person that is gauranteed to beat you is the wrestler you think can beat you. good luck to all of you. The great thing about this sport is a win or a loss is nobodies fault or gain but your own. If Saturday ends your high school season don't let it end your hard work. Take the time to participate in USA wrestling and go to all the tournaments you can. Do the work to get to the level you need to be at next year. I bet 90% of the wrestlers at this level have done some USA wrestling.
-
Sorry, you ar correct, that was a little harsh. I didn't mean to sound like Pierre wasn't beatable. Everyone in the bracket is beatable and after reading my post it did sound that way. There is no superstars in that bracket. There is a alot of talented wrestlers in that bracket and the competition is close.
-
I agree those boys have beaten each other several times. I think Jamison is a good wrestler but after looking at the brackets he will be lucky to make it to the second round. If he does he won't make it out of the second. He has the ability to capitalize on other wrestlers mistakes (the quality of a good wrestler) but unless one of those kids makes a mistake I don't see him getting out. he had a pretty easy ride to regional finals, and I don't think he had a chance of winning that if Meenach hadn't gotten high on his ride. He took Jamison down with no problems and was holding him there. Holwager has a very hard first match and I don't see him getting past that. Meenach has the best chance with his draw. Brokal is a good wrestler but if Meenach wrestled like he did Saturday he has a chance to beat him. again it is a toss up, upsets happen every weekend at this level. I wish all the boys there good luck.
-
I agree. We need to shoe the state there are good quality wrestlers in this part of Indiana also.[/b]
Shouldn't it be show and not shoe...Bahahaha..lol
Yes you are correct sir! sucks having fat fingers.
-
In all honesty, A win for FC, NA or Jeff is a win for southern Indiana wrestling and God knows we need some bragging rights. Good luck to all you guys, we're proud of you, and we stand behind you 100% no matter the school! ;D
I agree. We need to shoe the state there are good quality wrestlers in this part of Indiana also.

WOW!!! I have NO predictions for this weekend, merely hope that these kids don't have to see the comments made by some of you "so-called" adults. I have known Bailey for quite some time and will neither be "out for revenge" nor was he "broken" by any of your wrestlers. He helps his teammates and tries to be a good role model for someone so young. His tears Saturday were not from losing or being broken, he simply wants his parents to be proud of him...as well as his many coaches. He has a lot of weight on his shoulders for a 14-year-old boy and you should all be ashamed of yourselves for turning their hard work and dedication into a pissing match! I am there every weekend rooting for each kid on our team including my own...and especially Bailey. We try to be good sports and teach them that winning is MORE than getting your arm raised in the circle...it is about pride, hard work, dedication to one's team and coaches, and being a good person all the way around. I watched the way some of you acted Saturday and it was pretty dispicable to say the least. Showing appreciation for your wrestlers is one thing...just being out for blood is another. And quite frankly....there was a whole lot of stalling going on for your peacock feathers to be showing quite so brightly. These kids deserve more than a buch of nasty comments from grown men living vicariously through their sons....they ALL deserve respect! So I say GOOD LUCK to ALL of you...and I hope that you show more sportsmanship Saturday in front of those kids than you have been showing on here!
I don't see any where on here where someone was talking bad about Bailey. He is a very talented wrestler that carries himself very well. predicting that someone will beat him isn't talking bad about him it is making a guess, and that what all these post are, guesses. I am sorry if you were offended and that wasn't the intention of anyone on this site. Every one makes predictions about all sorts of happenings and that is part of life. Some of these "so called adults" you are talking about are the wrestlers themselves. I hope Bailey wasn't offended by someone thinking that he will get beat because that is always going to happen. He carries himself very well and I am sure it bothers you more than it will ever bother him. Every member of the Lahue family I have talked to at wrestling meets have been very good people . There will always be unsportman like people everywhere you go and I seen some Saturday also but there are more good fans in this sport than bad. That is why this is such a good sport.

He fractured his ankle and was out for several meets. His losses have been to quality kids including Meenach by 1 point at the SIWC.

]He is a quality wrestler and I thought it was wierd that he didn't have a higher seed. That's when I noticed his record.
-
why does Humphry only have 16 matches? Was he injured this year? who is his 4 losses to?

I figured you would know for sure. That's good.Stuart wrestled this past saturday... I don't know your source who said he quit, but my soucre is pretty reliable ;D.
-
I agree. something crazy always happens the weekends of sectionals and regionals and sometimes some unbelievable upsets. I believe you are right on your locked in champions I think 126 could go to any of the top 3 , it just depends on who brings their A game. I thought Stuart quit or that was the word at the SIWC. I just hope the seeding to get screwed up and cause some kids that should meet in the finals to meet too early in the tournamnet. It is not good when the real finals match happens the second round and a good wrestler gets 3rd.Something crazy or unexpected will no doubt happen Saturday Jeff.. Jeff and Floyd are gonna have a battle til the end for the title, will be interesting to see if one of them gets a leg up tonight in drawing those forfiet brothers from Salem and CAI in the first round... I see Kennedy, Lahue, Shepherd, Marler and Curtley as locks, take it to the bank.. 126, and, 138 are deep weights whoever wins these will be battle tested... Stuart from Charlestown will be at 132 or 138 and will add some depth to one of those weights...... I think 170 is a weight to watch as well Hall and Marlin should be a good one...... Also watch the big boy from Providence, he could shake some things up... I could see a Champion from seven different teams.
-
At that particular sectional 132 maybe easier overall than 126. Floyd Central's Tre Marler has to be favorite but after him it looks like a toss up. Marler and Meenach may be an interesting match to watch.
I agree 132 would probably be easier, the 126 in that sectional is stacked it will be a toss up between about 3 kids in that weight class. Marler would definately be the favorite and that Providence kid has a chance to but I believe Marler would beat him. I'm sure Meenach would do fine in that class also and I would expect it would be Marler and Meenach in the finals. The New Washington kid that wrestled the Providence kid in the finals at SIWC in the 132 did not give him much trouble.
-
Jeff Classic performance may have had something to do with competition level. Who did he beat at conference?
he beat the kid fron Forest park to get to the finals and then he beat Humphries in the finals, Humphries is a very talented wrestler as are some of the other Southwestern Rebels. The competition was very good at Jeff Classic in all weight devisions but I am was just saying the kid did not look sick and weak this time. I think he has been wrestling at 132 all year and might wrestle sectional at 132 instead of 126 which is a shame because I think it would be a differnt outcome this time. I think his only 2 losses this year was the day of Jeff classic. I think they said his record is 27-2.
-
the Milan Invitational is this weekend also
-
some kids I seen this weekend that probably need mentioned was BRyant Haynes from Charlestown it held his own with Humphries of Southwestern. Jared Griffith of Providence at 132 wrestled well this weekend. Meenach won conference at 126, the only one that give him any trouble was Humphries. Meenach must have been sick at Jeff Classic because he wrestled very well this weekend. Jacob Hall was pretty impressive at 170 this weekend also.

That really sucks for a kid to get hurt like that and ruin his season, especially a senior . But it was a smart decision for him to stop and not to ruin his arm for life just to wrestle. if you can catch those kind of injuries early and not continue to abuse it they will ususally heal back to normal.
