  1. For all the athletes, coaches, parents and fans traveling to Indy today:

Thank you Lord for this day and please bless all of the wrestling families with safe travels to Indianapolis today and be with the athletes as they compete , watching over them and protecting them fro injury, in Jesus name we pray amen.

Good luck to ALL wrestlers and coaches be safe and represent your school and family with class. ;)

  2. I don't know how much Mark Durham as been ask to be involved but I know that he has had a few different venues for Indy Nationals and probably knows a little about others. Mr. D has booked Conseco (Bankers Life), Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indiana Convention Center and U of Indy just to name a few. Mark is a great resource with a love for wrestling.

  3. Great tournament, great officials. Awesome job Brownsburg and Mark Durham. I would also like to thank the father in the crowd that came on the mat to check on my son, my son was not wrestling his son but he was a Dr. and saw a kid collapse on the mat and came to check on him. I would also like to thank the Brownsburg mom who came to check on him as she was a Nurse. Wrestling usually gets a bad rap with (wrestling parents) but these two people prove just how great wrestling people truly are. Thanks to the announcer who stopped us on the way out and asked my sons name so he could pray for him. I can go on and on with the positives but I am done. My son is doing great at home no effects of the incident.

  4. It is a shame that Indiana hosted such a wonderful tournament with top tier competition and we were not the state to have the kids participate. Indiana as a state needs our wrestlers to go to these tournaments in our own backyard. Why do we not have the same numbers at OH or IL? It that our club seasons end in March or April? I only seen a few of the local High School coaches there and they were from the top level schools in the state(PM,WC,New Pal, Carmel) there may have been more but the point is for Indiana to get better as a whole whe need to promote these tournaments to our local kids and get them out. Also THANK YOU to the ISWA, Mark Durham, LN and all the volunteers for their endless hours hosting this tournament. Yes Saturday ran very long but the powers that be after the long day of running the tournament  had a meeting on how to improve the tournament.

  5. I read this and laugh, not at what people are asking or saying but at the fact that "we all" think that the IHSSA is going to do anything to help the sport of wrestling.

    1) They got rid of team state.

    2) Don't give medals to the entire team that wins under their new team concept.

If it were basketball or football they would be ears open but if you mention wrestling its like they have no interest. :'(

  6. I know this has already be done, but talk to Mark Durham he has had some great venues for Indy Nationals( Bankers Life, Hinkle Fieldhouse

and this year the Indianapolis Convention Center). He has probably already the research on the rent of most of the facilities in or around the Central Indiana area.

  7. I have had the privilege to watch CJ in the wrestling room for a long time, and he is the real deal. CJ has earned everything he has ever gotten and thye sky is the limit for him. He has a great work ethic and desire to be the best not to mention a great coach and family support. Best of luck to this great young man.
