  1.

    ;D  Congratulations Brooke Bunch

i had a couple people private message me and ask why i would put brooke bunch over 20-4 ballard...cause i know what i am doing!!! way to go get it girl!!!!

  2. No "Bunch of Flowers" as he is 113 & yes Bunch would be the first from our regional :) you have a way with your words :) love it :)

im just excited for it is getting close. i cant freaking wait. so many possibilities like you guys are pointing out. Another thing is matchups and styles of different wrestlers clashing. for example, based on my predictions:

106 - would have a #1 vs #4 of schaefer/markley...thats a possible upset due to style. Markley can get quick pins on good wrestlers. he is a very strong 106 and has been wrestling 113, successfully most the year. in the semis, i think we will see a bunch of flowers...i mean bunch vs flowers. I say flowers wins this weight class but I also say we see bunch going to semi state and would be the first female to do so from this regional if im not mistaken.

113 - would have a re-match of coffman/hillard in first round. hillard won last time but its not a lock for the next. anyone that knows wrestling knows it is harder and harder to beat the same guy. in the other half of that bracket you would have a deal/miller match. i say deal wins, but i wouldnt be shocked to see miller pull that out.

120 - beyond the fact that the top 8 wrestlers I have in this bracket are all solid and great first round matchups, i predict semi finals matchups of lonneman/jenkinson and anderson/mcclurg...although I have my prediction, i wouldnt be shock to see it flipped upside down either.

126 - even though craft easily pinned phillips earlier this year, they would be in separate bracket halfs by my predictions and phillips style matches up better with boggs for the upset. last year jenkinson easily beat boggs and guess who practices with and wrestles alot like jenkinson? phillips! also, last year bowers beat craft, then at spartan, phillips had bowers beat until the very end...this weight class can go about any way possible with these 4. the one who wants it more will win.

132 - wow what a stacked weight class! when I first did my predictions, I thought westerfield was wrestling the best, then bane was, then o'farrow looked super sharp at spartan, now oyler beat westerfield...who knows?!?! flip a coin lol. they are all so close and all know how to wrestle with everything on the line. they all have heart and skill and the best man that day will be on top of the podium. you also cant forget about former NCC champ and 3x SSQ broyles in this mix...and dont count michaels out, he could be on upset alert, especially since he already beat broyles this year. 2 really good wrestlers wont make it to semi state in this class. you gotta go out and earn this one!

138 - killion was out of sectionals with an illness last year and was poised to make a deep run. He then went on to defeat last years 138 regional winner (cox) at ISWA state. Cox owns a couple victories over killion and is rumored to be back at 138 come sectionals. This will be very interesting. now throw in Jake Ruberg, undefeated freshman phenom from Lawrenceburg who already bumped up to beat Hale, and now you have the makings of a barn burner as killion and cox have both lost to hale over the years and have never beat him.

145 - a tri sectional final 4 here unless cox cuts to 138. either way, count on decker being in the championship match. he has beaten cox both times they wrestled and the reason I have cox over decker is like I said before, its tougher to beat the same guy over and over again and cox is too good to not learn from his losses. now if a certain wrestler from 152 cuts to 145, all hale will break loose. to add to that, Jake Ruberg already beat Hale once this year, but he has already weighed in at 138 so I think thats where he will be even though he hasnt wrestlled 138 yet. IF hale and manning stay at 152 and cox cuts to 138, it could make this weight class a cake walk for decker and 3 wrestlers will get late xmas gifts of wrestling at semi state.

152 - IF manning and hale are both in this bracket since its rumored they are both cutting, they will both meet in the semis, meaning caleb day will have easy matches to the final and will have whatever is left of the winner of the hale/manning match. Therefore day wins...if those 2 do cut, day wont break a sweat.

160 - top 3 here are decker, steele and dole. decker/dole would meet in the semis based on my predictions and thats a tough matchup. dole recently earned being state ranked and everyone knows how good decker is. steele gets the benefit of waiting on the winner of these 2 guys which could give him the edge in the finals...but, he has been inconsistent this year, had weight management problems and doesnt seemed as focused as last year. He did beat decker last year in OT but its hard to beat decker twice. IF decker gets past dole, i say decker will be more focused on avenging last years loss, if dole wins, im not sure he will have enough left to beat steele. one thing for sure, the loser of the decker/dole match is a 3 seed at semi I would not want.

170 - gonzo is so tough. he has all the qualities of a great wrestler. strength, speed, technical skill, heart, determination, confidence and focus. He has beaten aquino every time they wrestled but its getting harder to do as was the case at spartan. aquino gets better every time I was him wrestle. the only thing that can prevent this finals matchup is spencer sargent. I dont think he and aquino have ever wrestled but would be a great semi finals match.

182 - nice matchups here with my predictions being hittle/robinson and knopp/shirkey. hittle got robinson last year and I believe it was 1-0 at rushville. shirkey was tough at spartan. I havent seen or heard anything about knopp this year but he has always proven tough. I have my predictions but I wouldnt be surprised if I was wrong on it either.

195 - huge possibility of an all franklin county sectional final 4. between harnishfeger, cavins and hooten, the winner is a coin toss and may very well be someone avenging a sectional loss.

220 - i dont see any upsets here. miller and ramage just seem right for the finals. nothing to see here. keep moving...

285 - joe garland is graduated so nothing will stop trawick from winning this time. the real matchup will be for 2nd, 3rd and 4th. alamillo is favored but you cant count selm out...or can you as I just learned minges beat him earlier this year. you also have vaughn who gives people trouble with his height, and creigmile who has been surprising this year after taking a couple years off from the sport. only 3 additional spots left for those remaining 5 guys. Who wants it more?

  3. No your not....watch just one more year :)

yea lol. all i know is im retiring after this year. i invested a ton of time and money thru the years for wrestling and my kid is graduating and i still wish the rest well but I will be done with it. time for the next chapter. I might sneak a peek at the standings and see a match or two of some of my dudes that are still in it next year but thats it lol

  4. Boggs vs Bowers score =7-5

I didnt hear a score myself but rumor<------(that's the problem) is that Boggs had an easy match.

I have update some predictions. Still going thru some matches and trying to figure out who all beat who. New castle is hush on things so hard to find out theirs. Someone beat like decker last week and I cannot find out who that was. Also cannot find individual results for yesterday's matches between shenandoah, knightstown, blue river and others

  5. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT BIGMAK & JERRY THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!! I PERSONALLY WENT TO THE AD LAST YEAR & EVEN SENT AN EMAIL REQUESTING THAT THIS EVEN BE ON TRACKWRESTLING & HE SAID THAT HE WOULD LOOK INTO IT, NEEDLESS TO SAY WRESTLING IS CONNERSVILLE'S "NUMBER 1 SPORT" ALTHOUGH OUR RECORDS IN THE PAST TWO YEARS ARE BETTER THAN THE "NUMBER 1 SPORT"

EMAIL THE AD-------Brent Duncan, Athletic Director  blduncan@fayette.k12.in.us

    well said coach!

as a parent of a rival school wrestler and one that follows all the local area teams, I will testify that coach Jerry puts in a crazy amount of work in the offseason working with every wrestler that wants his help He reaches out even to those that are hesitant when he feels they have the skills and ability but just need that extra. He tries to give that to them. He has worked with my son and many other centerville wresters as well as wrestlers from hagerstown, lincoln, rushville, tri, union county, richmond and more that I know of myself. I know of coaches that once the season is over, they are done but thats where jerry's season begins. So for those that dont know him, trust me, he is a huge asset to the soort that obviously we all love.

The fact that connersville beat cathedral in a dual last year says enough lol...they earn the placements they have been getting. Look at connersvilles records the last several years people, this isnt your daddys connersville wrestling team anymore lmao

  6. AMEN :)

Lets see 24 coaches are dragging their feet to get roster set by christmas day .Turn in on thursday and then half their line up shows up  a turkey and seven deviled eggs over wieght so they call  the coach of Connersville and beg to change half the lineup on thursday and then show up friday with the otherhalf of the lineup has changed because most of his kids didnt know they was wrestling on friday and didnt show up. Dont bash the people who are runnin this awesome tourney because they dont email you personnally the brackets with a bow on christmas morning.  Besides  thats part is what i like about it. So maybe your a good wrestler & maybe you do get the stud first ,now lets see what kind of man you are stand up proud shake his hand and tell him youll see him on the podium. Then go out and claw your way back. Dont be a baby and cry its not fair . If you end up getting third or fourth then save your whinning for your family back home.(my lil johnny would have been 2nd but he couldnt beat the 1st place guy.I,m sure they will see through your selfishness.) Blind draw what  joke if i was the coach and was host to a event this size I sure wouldnt give every one else the byes in the first round. If your kid cant beat the connersville kid in the 2nd round how can you cry about what happens in the first round. Home cooking On my mats thats what it would be. :) ;D :P    Its for the kids most of which have no idea who they draw until adults put their comments to it. Just wrestle.

  7. LMAO :)

Wish I had time to answer all the concerns, but I'm too busy doctoring the brackets. Who should I screw over first?

Brackets are not made up till final rosters are turned in. Once wrestlers are set in a weight then brackets are made by AD.

The best kids win, the best teams win. Connersville is 78-9 over the last three years, no way they should have been in top ten????(28-1 last year)

  9. @ treefiddy  good luck to your female wrestlers & male wrestlers!!  Off season is the best way to obtain a lot of mat time & mat time is what will help the wrestler in the long run.  I know from experience that it's not cheap by no means for all the events & I would have to say that when you take the girls to the tournaments go along with them (if you can) as they know your coaching style & that is what they are used to. Going to the tournaments is one thing but not having individuals in your weight class & knowing that if you wrestle with the boys you will have mat time, it might be about getting your name out there but if you are competing verses just receiving a metal/ribbon because you was the only one your weight class.  A lot of options out there & the tournaments on trackwrestling.com should be legit good organized & ran smoothly tournaments as the brackets are all filled out for you if you enter the data into trackwrestling.com EC wasn't ran smoothly this year nor last year & truly sad because it's a women's tourney & the director (strub1) is running the whole EC event.  May you all have a great off season.

  10. Ha ha I know who you are as well!! Your PICKS are right on the "MARK" ha ha!!  See you on Saturday ;D

Yea you and everyone else, get in line...it starts right behind me which happens to be the same line to meet daddio lol. I will be incognito.

  11. I agree totally with you!!!

I never wrestled. I was a ball player. When my son decided to wrestle, I didn't know what I was getting into. Years later, its the greatest high school sport. There are no harder workers than these kids, you have teams and individual efforts and recognition. You have big rivals on the mat then friends off the mat. It really is a wrestling community as you say. I love this sport and these kids are amazing. They go out on a mat with all eyes on then and 1 will fail and 1 succeed each time in from of everyone then they have to be able to keep their head up and be ready to do it again.

  12. I must remind you bigmak that your Sectional Prediction was incorrect @ 106!!  I want to tell you that I do appreciate the time & effort you place into the sport let alone the wrestlers you support across the board!!  Thank you!!

  13. ***Understood that all want to know the status of the wrestlers, but please remember the WRESTLERS read these post & most importantly a lot more mature about the situation at hand.*** I agree totally that Connersville is the host although do you also understand that they are focusing on running the event as smoothly as possible for the WRESTLERS & there families & friends.  I worked today as well & had two wrestlers in the event & didn't learn anything until my wrestlers sent me the text message.  I can tell you this much FANMAN I will work on the issue at hand which is BRACKETS being posted the day of the event & each rounds results going forward in the future, I can't promise you that this will happen but I can try.  Give me a fax number & I'll fax the brackets & someone can place them up on this site for all to see.  Let's all just be thankful we are able to communicate with someone instead of being so hasty over CONNERSVILLE done this or CONNERSVILLE done that.  Just so you all know there was an IHSSA HEAD GUY @ the event today along with 31 other schools & many many parents/friends of the wrestlers.  Show the wrestlers & the schools the respect they deserve & be an adult about the issue.  Email your concerns to Brett Duncan who is the Athletic Director for the Spartans & hash it out with him instead of this website & I am almost positive that I told you or someone on this site last year the same thing except the Athletic Director has changed this year.  The weather wasn't nor is currently the best here in Connersville (we are supposed to receive 2-4 inches of snow tonight).  A lot of wrestlers/parents/friends not only have to worry about making weight/competition but now there lives as the WEATHER is bad.  Thank your lucky stars FANMAN & just remember that Jerry has an email & so does anyone else you have issues with.  Please respect the WRESTLER they are CHILDREN no matter how you look at it & they are respectful enough not to post negative when they are pinned or pin a wrestler in so many seconds.  As a parent of wrestlers I just find it your comment very RUDE & if were supporting Bobby Frasur that is great but why bash his hometown school & saying you watch the wrestlers from around the counties that is great as well but be respectful as if you had a wrestler you sure wouldn't want there name nor school being bashed now would you.  Thanks for ready & really fax number & I'll send you the brackets between 845-915am tomorrow 12/29/12.  God bless & best wishes to the 10 SPARTAN WRESTLERS & 2 Richmond Wrestlers that I know of (138 & 285) & Centerville (145 I believe) had one wrestler advance tomorrow.  God bless & please be respectful & be safe in your travels.

I root for UC, and if they aren't in a match, then all the local schools, Centerville, Richmond, Northeastern, and even Connersville and ect.  I have no kid on any team, I simply like wrestling.  I go to as many events as possible, and when I can't attend, I use this site, trackwrestling and whatever else I can to keep up with all levels of it.  I watch a ton of videos on youtube, flowrestling, and wherever, simply to just watch good wrestling.  It is the Connersville Spartan Classic, not the 31 other teams to take care of.  Seriously, asst coach, how hard is it to update an keep others interested in it by posting some brackets, results an the such.  Some can't make it and look forward to all the info they can get, and have no direct connection with any coach, including the one of the school they generally root for.  The past few years, I've had family ( cousins kid ), wrestling in this event, ON YOUR TEAM, which I tried to keep up with.  It's crazy I know, people can cheer for anyone from anywhere because of the sport.  Think what you want of me, however, anyone who would like results and are unable to attend, should have a place to be able to get them.  Maybe you have forgotten that since your at the meet, however, there are people who can't attend everything and still would like info.

Oh yeah, Frasur, just so you know.

  14. You are correct CONNERSVILLE is the 2012 Sectional & Connersville hadn't won a WRESTLING SECTIONAL championship since 1985!!!  Great job CHS WRESTLERS!!!

I left before they announced but I'm pretty sure Connersville won but don't quote me on that!

  15. Totally agree Coachie---  Good luck Spartan Wrestlers & Coaches!!! Best of luck to all & remember all...you reap what you sow!!!

It is a shame, but Tom will deal with it. I think he is in the same boat either weight class. Makes me wonder how Tom got pointed out, or if this common on more people knowing what your wrestler weighed in at then you!

Anyway, good luck to all and your karma

    Jerry
