Lets not forget Todd Batt who finished 2nd at 132, also wrestled in that very deep 103 bracket in 2009. ;D
By far one 2008-2009 103lber's were badass!!!

sarah wins, shes on another level in the college practice room.

I think Garza is gonna have a great season. Also Slosser from munster is not someone to take lightly. He defeated state qualifier Lopez from LC at the Munster duals. Lopez got him at sectionals though.
-
At 120, Matt Lechowicz from LC defeated Adam Brodie in all three of their meetings last year. The last time was for the 3rd seed going into the Merrillville semistate.
Also, where is Colton Saroff from crown point? He made it too the ticket round at a very tough 112lb class last season.
-
On the individual side, besides any of the post-season tournaments. Al-Smith is hands down thee toughest tournament during the regular season.
-
I predict Michael Garza from Merrillville will have a monster year at 103. Wrestled well last year weighing only 95-100. 4 of his 7 losses came to Boston and Fuqua! Won the 2011 ISWA Folkstyle beating Tommy Cash in Semis and pinning a tough Jacob Cottey in the Finals. He should be a strong statewide contender at 103....
I agree, Garza was a tough 103 pounder last year. I think he will definitely make some noise in the region this year.

The anticipation of the first and ticket round!!!! very exciting ;D

103 is definitely going to be a fun one to watch, first round and the ticket round will be worth the money.

Thank you hicks-card and julio, much appreciated.

Good luck to all wrestlers in the Regionals tomorrow, could any verify if LaPorte and Calumet Regionals will get an extra pound or two? many schools in these regionals have not been in schools for days and had missed several days of practice, also 4 teams in these regionals had wrestled on thrusday. Any feedback appreciated.

Its happened to my school, I am a junior at Lake Station High School in Northwest Indiana, it gets me mad that they have cancelled the practices, because I have Regionals on Saturday, yes I have practiced at home, but I could use the practice from my teammates as well, we should get a 3 pound allowance for this.
you need to let your coach know to contact the IHSAA, they need to know who hasnt been practicing to get the 3-4 pound allowance.

word on the street is that munster and griffith cancled school for friday, feb 4.
Any others in the Calumet Regional?
-
you do have a point there, but the fact that its the IHSAA state tournament series now, and EVERY wrestler in the state at this point, shares the same goal to make it to conseco. it seems unfair that during state series that someone else during one of the weeks was allowed to weight 144, and you had to weight 142. idk i guess its just me

Bloomington South has announce a 4lbs weight allowance total for Sat
good to hear for bloomington south, making weight this week for the wrestlers would be tough without practices
-
Im just wondering if 1 regional got the +4lbs allowence, shouldnt the whole state get the extra 4 pounds? it would seem unfair for kids in one regional to weigh 134, and kids in another regional on the same day to weigh 132. Plus IHSAA needs to allow atleast 1 pound for some of these regionals, some teams have not practiced for days.

The only year brooks and petrov both did not qualify were their freshman seasons.
brooks was beat by Stevens of merrillville who had seen alot of success at that weight for 4 years.
petrov was beat by medina of munster who never made a returned to the state finals.
103 in 2009 was one hell of a dogfight
