Was reading the thread about the Price kid from Tech - great story. It mentions that he jumped right into summer wrestling and how his coach feels the kid would wrestle 365 days of the year, if he could.
Got me thinking - How many really good wrestlers only participate during the high school season? I realize that there are numerous guys that excel at other sports(Reece, Sliga, Meyer, etc), and wrestling may be their "second" sport. But I'm guessing they still wrestle some during the off-season.
So...is there such a thing as a guy who only wrestles from Nov to Feb? I know there are, but I'm talking about guys that are ranked or close to it. Who is such an athlete that they put their shoes away at the end of the season and don't pull them out until the next AND still competes at a high level?

....... And perhaps a slew of letters to the newspaper about this injustice might get it some notice.

Don't read too much into it, I was just making an observation. Seemed like an odd pick, but I guess he knows something I don't.

Individual Predictions:
171
1. Brierly (CE)
2. Wathen (JC)
Wathen is ranked 11th and Brierly has been pinned twice in the past couple of weeks.

IMO, the bigger issue for the IHSAA would be the onslaught of middle schoolers from other sports now wanting the opportunity to participate at the HS level. This sounds like a nightmare for the IHSAA.
