This will be number 6 for me. I know it's not breaking any records and I'm sure there are tons of guys with more, but i started going my freshman year of high school and have gone each year since. I am not the most avid Indiana wrestling fan, but there is something about state championship weekend that just can't be matched. In my opinion, there is nothing better than seeing anyone win a championship in anything, and seeing years of hard work pay off for 14 guys once a year is just great. I have been looking forward to next weekend since last year's finals, and I'm sure it will be spectacular as always.

Don't be surprised to see Helterbrand advance, possibly even making it to the championship match. He is 37-0 and has a win over Richey already this year. I know the competition is tough and no discredit to any of the other guys, but he dominated in the regional championship and doesn't seem to make many mistakes. Just don't count him out.

Donnie has always gone to Cloverdale, or at least since middle school that I am sure of. But I believe he has always been there.

Don't count out Vermillion (GC) at 215. Beat Helmick in overtime in the conference championship. Hopefully we get a rematch in the sectional, as it was a phenomenal match on both ends.

After reading on the UW wrestling website, it doesn't sound like Howe will be wrestling Friday. Sorry to burst the bubble.

Wisconsin coach Barry Davis: "It would be a great rematch. I think people were looking forward to it. But that rematch now is probably going to take place at the NCAA finals in March. But that?s the way the ball bounces, and that?s the way it goes, and you just make adjustments and go from there."

Heald wrestled and won at 130 in the WCC tournament last weekend. I don't have any idea where he will be for the sectional, but he seemed pretty comfortable there.

I have only been really following Indiana wrestling for the last 5 years or so, but Eppert vs. Wright is easily the best match I have ever seen. Everyone knew the match was coming, and it more than lived up to the hype. I was exhausted after watching it. Such a great battle.
