  1. Please pray for Courtney Vanderbosch and Austin Hammon. Austin is a four year letter winner here at Woodlan and placed 4th this past weekend at the Carroll Regional. Courtney and him have been dating for several months. They were on their way home from Regional Saturday evening and was in a horrible car accident. Austin luckily made it out with minor injuries but Courtney is in very serious condition. All prayers are needed and appreciated. She has made some improvement but is still fighting very hard for her life.

That's horrible, prayers out from Fort Wayne Snider.

  2. Funny, like a team hit hits 3 tres in the final 20 seconds to come from behind to win.

Not to take anything away from the either team but in wrestling many times the "come from behind" win or "they led the entire way" is usually related to where they start.

Agreed, the point was tha no one including Snider expected the match to be that close.

  3. You heard me.  Bellmont is always ready to go for the team state, its what they focus on all year.  Their studs are always on top of their game and like Boot said, they know how to stall when they need to and hardly ever give up bonus points at weights in which they're outmatched.  Even when Yorktown took 2nd at state a couple of years ago and were far and away better than Bellmont, Bellmont still almost won the dual.  Bellmont has the upper hand this year and wins by no less than 10.  Neither Carroll or Snider will be able to come within 15 or maybe even 20.

Snider was ahead the whole meet until the last two matches, it was a great final.

  4. Surprised not to see Jared Wilson from snider @ 132 on the rankings? I know he beat Roe from Adams Central 6-2.

Any other info on Wilson's season so far?

How about details of the Roe vs. Wilson match? Still a surprising result to me!

    120 Early, Lockett, Norman, Shaffer

    126 Meling, Appel, Hammon, Jones

    132 George, Wilson, Sitko, Parisot

    138 Elkins, Sieger, Stallings, Papadakis

    145 Zink, Baker, Johnson, Johnson

    195 Green, Martin, Omar, Saxton

    220 McCullough, Olson, Hernadez, Schultz

    285 White, Chowning, Reyes, Perry

I'd agree with the majority of these.  It's going to be a tough match at 113 for Lovejoy,132 forGeorge and 285 for White.

  6. In the three class system northeast indiana is dominating two of the classes.  I doubt they will have a real successful state tournament, but the smaller schools up in the northeast corner are killing the rest of the state.  They have the top 3 teams in 2a and two of the top 3 teams in 1a.  Just wanted to give some serious props to the coaches and atheletes that have been and who currently are building success.  As soon as the big schools get a taste of going to state because of the classes then watch out we may begin the transition into the best area of the state.  In all seriousness I do hope that Fort Wayne area schools readopt middle school wrestling, because it has seriously hindered their productivity in recent years.

    Terry Tipton

I agree but they will never add wrestling back to the middle schools with the current administration in place, Fort Wayne Snider is having a successful year and a lot of the success is because the Jr class and Senior class was the last classes to go through the disbanded program.  I wouldn't be surprised that the will send back the 5 kids to Semi State with returning even more this year

  7. What would you do if the weight was called and the wrong wrestler checked in for a match and his coach didn't catch this or the table help.   The wrestler at the correct weight pinned the kid and then the coach realized he had the wrong person wrestling.  Should have that have been a forfeit.  The match was wrestled again and he pinned the kid again at the correct weight.  Would that be considered two wins or a win and a forfeit.  The win with one the kid at the wrong weight was considered one of his matches for the day.

  8. Snider also didn't have the service of their football players for that dual.  Check the difference in the Snider line-up from this week against the one when South Adams wrestled them.  Snider had five different starters this week compared to their first match.  The match would have been extremely close with those starters in for Snider.

Maybe a reason to wait until with the Rankings until the teams are at full strength, Snider received 6 starters from the Football team.  Haven't lost a match with the addition of the Football players!

  9. Huntington North

    FW Snider

    Whitko

    Norwell

    Oak Hill

    FW Carrol

    Churrobusco

    Concordia(i think)

This is the first year for 8 teams, 2 pools of 4, then 2 crossover matches

I'm not sure of the pools

Fort Wayne Snider isn't in this tournament, they will be at the next one after Christmas.
