  1. All these Denton fans are talking how great he is and how some are saying he should be ranked , he doesn't have any respectible wins . He got his butt torn apart from a #3 seeded 103 lber so until he wrestles someone I'm going with Sarah in this one .

That 103 is Stevan Mecic and this kid is good and just like Denton he's also a freshman , but he also is a very light freshman who shouldn't be able to beat a wrestler that is 41 - 1 and is a 112 .  That just shows what kind of competition Denton has faced , I'm going with Sarah 8-4 dec. .

  2. Petrov will be in the mix as well. His OT win over Brooks at Mville last year was the match of the day. And there were some fantastic battles that day. I think it's funny that the kid that gave Phillips the best match last year at Conseco(8-3) seems to not get the respect a finalist deserves. ???

Pauly just seems to fly under the radar all the time , and then bam he hits you like a boulder , Petrov, Todd , Phillips , and Brooks is there any better top four in any weight class ?
  3. I will delay making my picks until the Individual tournament is done.  A few years ago every poster on this board picked their 160 to beat MD's 160 because he was unranked prior to state.  His name was Sam "The Fall Guy" Wildeman.  He proceded to win state rather easily, pinning the number 1 ranked wrestler in route.  In my opinion, the main reason MD has a shot is that these two teams will have very few, if any, wrestlers compete prior to the Team State.  That means they will wrestle "straight up".  Alot of MD's individual losses are to opponents who they have wrestled and beaten several times, only to lose because the wrestlers in question learned how to block and stall their way to a win.

That statement is rediculous , E.M.D. has not wrestled against wrestlers the likes  of Tsirtsis and Roach and many other top ranked wrestlers from C.P. , the talk on this sight is more or less how E.M.D. is going to try to stall and not get pinned . M.D. would be better off with seeing these wrestlers earlier to prepare . C.P. 's the one that benefits by not wrestling until State . Plus the talk of Boots being bumped up against Kral would be more points for the Dogs , we saw what another DAC kid did to Boots earlier , bring it on .

  4. I understand how good Roach and Tsirsits are, but can someone give me some stats on how many pins they each have for the year?  Pins vs. kids that are ranked that is....  I don't think they are pinners, very good technical wrestlers, and could beat maybe everyone in the country, but they beat them by points not throwing them in a headlock or working them over with a big power half or something....  just my opinion, but I don't think they pin kids who are ranked, but give me facts to prove me wrong.

Crown Point has been so dominating this year that they haven't needed a certain match to put them over the top , Roach and Tsirtsis are like a cat playing with a mouse once they have caught it they like to play with it for awhile , if the Coach needs a pin from one of these guys he'll get it , I guarantee EMD have never seen any wrestlers  like these two this year .

  5. I will attempt to anwer the quesion you pose in your post.

I don't have a problem with ANY coach throwing a fit, just would like to see Officials control coaches a bit better.  You will see most coaches throw a fit at some point in a dual.  You will see most coaches yell and scream at a ref during the course of a dual.  What you will not see most coaches do during the course of a dual is run three quarters of the mat to the spot were a line call was just made (one I might add was eventually made in their favor).  I take nothing away from Coach Vlink, I think he has done an great job over the course of his tenure at Crown Point.  We all know that he can get a bit emotional at times during the course of a dual or tournament.  At times I feel he crosses the line and he is not called on it.  Answering your question as to why everyone seems to jump on him when this happens is because these emotions have happened on more than one occasion.

So by running 3/4 of  the mat to the spot of the line call and getting the call reversed to benefit Crown Point , gee what was he thinking .

  6. wow your going to dog a guys rankings that he does for free, and I think just about everyone else will agree with me, that he does a really good job. You might not agree with some of his post but hes volunteering his time to do the STATE rankings for you me and the whole state. What are you doing for the sport, or Indiana wrestling?

M.R.G. does a great job at the rankings and my hats off to him for his contribution to this sight , but that doesn't give him the right to say that Kral ran away from the match with Berry  when that was the coaches decision . It's easy for everyone to rip on someone sitting  behind a computor , I would really love to see you call Kral a chicken to his face then I guarantee someone would be running away , and it wouldn't be Tyler .

  7. Crown Point just kicked the you know what out of Merrillville and all your hearing is whining , instead of talking about the good things like  Blue filling in for Fuqua at 135  and pinning his kid , we're hearing about move ins , kids getting criticized for coaches decision , their pre high school training , I guess when your on top you you should expect this kind of crap . There's class and then there's comments like these .

  8. easy guy, nobody said anything about berry running, kral was the one who ran and forfeited. we commend berry for chasing that rematch from last year against kral

That was an ignorant statement , Tyler didn't make any of those decision he's one of the most competitive wrestlers in the state , if you would have seen how pissed off he was when he wasn't able to wrestle Knura . I guess since your Mr RankingsGuy and Kral who's 20 - 0 and only majored the #9  215 lber you'll probably knock him down to #7 in the state . At Crown Point the wrestlers do what the coach tells them to do , that might be the reason they've been a power out the Region for the last few years . Garza could have had another 8 lbs and he would have still lost .

  9. I would beg to differ... I worked the Mater Dei Holiday Tournament, and I think they and Crown Point match up very well. I'd think it would go 7-7  :)

(cbarnett) Since you've seen both teams this year , which most  of us haven't how would you break down a possible match up of C.P. and E.M.D. ?

  10. Wish I could be at this one , as far as teams this looks better than the Al Smith and Traicoff combined , this should tell a lot how other teams compare with the Mishawaka and Perry Meridian match , and also with Mater Dei and Merrillville going at it in St. Louis .

  11. Give the guy a break , it looks like he's from the Portage School System . INDIANS .

Could also be from Lake Cent. .

Crown Point would have a tough time with Perry Meridian with the match up , but would win the championship by + 10 points . On the other hand C.P. would destroy Mater Dei by at least + 20 points , they don't match up very good at all with the Dogs .

  12.                                                                                                                                 C.P.            Merr.

    103 lb   Fuqua  C.P.                        maj.                Garza   Merr.                     4                 0

    112 lb   Saroff   C.P.                         dec.                 Costakis Merr .                 7                 0

    119 lb   Jacobs Merr.                      dec.                 Burlison C.P.                     7                 3

    125 lb   Garcia  Merr.                     maj                 Harvey C.P.                      7                  7

    130 lb   Halsted C.P.                        dec.                 Padilla Merr.                   10                7

    135 lb    Fuqua C.P.                          wbf                 Jara Merr.                        16                7

    140 lb   Tsirtsis C.P.                         wbf                 Acosta Merr.                     22               7

    145 lb    Roach C.P.                           wbf                 Avalos Merr.                     28               7

    152 lb    Flamme C.P.                       maj                Sandefer Merr.                 32               7

    160 lb    Schurg C.P.                         maj                Deluna Merr.                    36              7

    171 lb    Shrewsbury C.P.                  dec.              Norman Merr.                 39              7

    189 lb    Berry Merr.                         wbf                Legbehn  C.P.                    39             13

    215 lb    Kral C.P.                                wbf                Nickson Merr.                   45             13

Hwt.       Acosta Merr.                        dec                 Swope C.p.                         45             16

If the lineup is the same from the Traicoff and the Merr. - Portage match .  , and no injuries between now and then .

  13. The 2010 Mishawaka team and the Dogs of 2011 are hard to compare , especially since the Cavemen were mostly Seniors and C.P. is a relatively young team who will lose only 4 wrestlers to graduation . Remember the older 2009 State champs beat that 2010  State team from Mishawaka .....

  14. The State Champion Team is coming out of Marion County this year!  Sorry Region!

Saw your prediction in Feb. 09 where you had C.P. figured third for the State Title  , keep up the good work . Hawkins and Tsirtsis started their own school  I believe it's called The Region Wrestling Academy ,  it's not just C.P. kids it's wrestlers from mainly N.W. I. , the training is done at Calumet High School .
