  1.   If not, keep your fingers away from the keyboard and concentrate on your own team.

I don't really have my own team, as I am a fan of wrestling in general.  Of course I am going to choose some of the better match ups for my entertainment dollar.

But, when I travel over  30 minutes to a meet to see 2 high ranked teams in action and  there isn't one match up of any of the better wrestlers and they are all from one team,  I think I am allowed my $5 worth of complaints.

I choose to go to Franklin today and saw some exciting matches.  I did not expect to see many of Penn's studs as they were in the football championship last week, and not qualified to participate as of yet.

This behavior is NO better than sending your JV squad to a Regional, that you think you can't win.

  2. Jason,

What happened to Derryck Chowning at 220?  Wrestled pretty good at the Classic, is he sick, also?    How Dre gets to feeling better.

He wrestled 195 because Hernandez is out. He wrestled nickell  really well until Mason got a bear hug to a fall.

  3. One little change and the BIG M is right back to the top.........GO BLUE

GO BLOW  is not even back on top of there DIVISION let along the STATE!  When Denard leaves to be a bust in the NFL, they will be back to where they have been the last decade!!

  4.

The match between Knura and Cooper happed around December 04, 2010 witch would make it the first semester of coopers senior year. And the score was 8-1 in favor of Knura

Yes, that is correct it happened in the second event of the season last year for Perry at Franklin Community.   Cooper also lost to Reagan from Penn  on that day, by I think 5 or more.    Only to come back at TEAM STATE and dominate Reagan.  One of Coopers last matches.  I would have liked to see that rematch with Knura,  as Cooper gained confidence through out the season.

Think Cooper started out in 11 or 12 spot last year in rankings.    PM just gets it done!!  All season long.

  5. *******       I cant wait to see the 220 weight class go at it. Naughton, Curtley, and Chowning or Carter.

Probably not going to see Curtley and Naughton,  Curtley ranked at 195 in Evansville  SS.  Unless that has been changed.

Don;t worry about what you post or who you offend.

Good Luck to DRE this year.

  6. This honestly makes me sick that they will get rid of the team tourney.

You dont believe that coach snyders boys wanted a team title instead of an individual title?

That amazes me. A State Championship team is more than just a team. It is a family. I know that the individual tourney gets you all the recognition and all the fame, but think about who you have been in the room with practicing, who you sat next to on the bus, who you shared your gatorade with. Think of how many countless hours you and your team practiced for the ultimate oppurtunity to count on one another. To me the team is everything, individual results are just the icing on the cake..

  7. aAnd MD Red. there is more to this state than what is north of Indy!!!!

    [/quote

What place is MD wrestling for?

Why can't AAU get this updated immediately?  $900 a team and 130 teams and they can't pay trackwrestling $ 375.00.

  8. Does anyone have Perry blue ind record so far? Thanks

DEM o GUY.   This is a team Building for PMHS.   Not worried about individual records here.   Win as a team.  No one has more than 2 loses.

McKinley. Bova, McClurg,Johnson. I believe are only undefeated wrestlers

  9. I sure am GLAD that Coach Williams from LN didn't read all the links about his chances of being in the finals.

That is what Coaching is all about getting the BEST out of what you HAVE.

Every Coach that has ever thrown a MATCH for what ever reason should be ASHAMED.   I have read Y2 say several times on this post.   Why wrestle your best kid if there is NO chance of winning.

LN in most peoples eyes had NO CHANCE of beating MD or CP.

  10. Yes, I will be rooting for The Falcons Of Perry Meridian, and no I won't be wearing a look at me shirt, lol Wrestling Is Life, you only think you know who I am I change diguises often 8)

You sent me an e-mail and told me who your brother was.....  I don't KNOW KNOW you, But I know  of you.

  11. Who cares about those QUITTERS anyway!!!!!!!!!!

Of course the attrition rate is going to be high.  If you look at it closely, it is going to be high for all sports.  I would actually say that compared to other sports the attrition rate for wrestlers is relatively low.  Thinks about how many kids played youth baseball, football, basketball (hundreds) and think about how few play it in high school.

Darwin called it survival of the fittest.

I believe the time to worry about wrestling attrition is between middle school & high school.

Out of my youth football team only 2 out of 28 kids played there senior year.  I think 4 or 5 played as Juniors.  If you look at the POWER CLUBS  like the PENN and PERRY PROGRAM.  they have over 140 kids( PENN closer to 200) in the program any given year and only so many spots.  Some kids if they can't be VARSITY can't commit to the demands of this sport.

I think a better way to look at this is how many years did the average State Champions wrestle.      MOST I would guess over 6 to 7 years.

Let us know how long your state champions wrestled!

  12.

Mckinley only lost once to Kieffer............this year at county.  i don't recall him wrestling kieffer any other time in high school?????????????  mckinley- 103-9th, 112-10th, 125-11th.  don't believe they were in the same weight class til this season.

I stand corrected!  You are correct, something shorted in my brain.

  13. Big Hawaiin,

Will you be at C.G. for state? If so, please wear your best Hawaiian shirt so we will all know who you are! One more thing, who will you be rooting for? I'm guessing P.M., but one never knows when your on the fence with other teams. LOL!

I know who he is and he doesn't need anything else to draw attention to himself, like an Hawaiian shirt.    He'll be rooting for PM, for sure or the next family dinner will be uncomfortable!

  14. Cooper just flat broke Kral, it looked as if Tyler had decided at the end of regulation that he was finished wrestling. From my view Kral put his hands on his hips and didn't put much of a fight into defending that very first shot in overtime. They go 0 - 0 for six minutes and then gave up the takedown in the first :15 of OT  ???

One of the few matches I watched looking forward to this week end.   I would say Copper wrestled that match perfectly.   He controlled the whole match.   I wouldn't want to tie up with that monster Kral,  The PM kid controlled it though.    Not sure that shot wasn't given up a whole lot sooner than :15   I am thinking the shot occurred at about :03  and was finished by :08.MBW.

Cooper beat some tough kids this year,  his Semi STATE was stacked.

I am picking PM to win by 2 over CP, or 4 over MD
