Schoettle will win this match, he is very quick on his feet and dominant on his feet as well. He really gets after the match and pushes the pace on his feet. Have seen him wrestle a lot this year and he is looking very good and expect the finals match to be fairly dominant i would think
If Schoettle is anything like his older brother , than this kid is a machine. I remember watching his older brother and looks are deceiving when you thought the worst was over you thought wrong he was an animal. I'd like to see the match up .

Who does everyone think will win?
My prediction is Lahue 8 Stock 5 with lahue and Schoettle in a great finals match.
Ok lets say this Finals match occurs Lahue vs Schoettle who wins ? Predictions?

The thing to remember is Schoettle is not going to walk into state. He still has to get past a very dangerous Mastison. The entire 113 class from Castle Regionals could easily upset every 1 seed.
True nobody is just going to walk into state you gotta wrestle this isn't a cake walk ;D and as for the castle regional upsetting every 1 seed highly doubt it but when its all over the top four guys will have made their mark and made it to state .

The thing I was trying to say it was not a 4 takedown and 4 cuts match. I remember the match and it was a 2 point match until the last second when Davis was doing anything to score while shoettle was good enough to score off his bad shot. I didnt say he didnt take Davis down I just remember it being a close match. There could have been a reversal for 2 but you are right. Its a new day and I think they could meet again.
If you read Italianmom's post it appears Schoettle was never taken down and chose neutral 2nd period and Davis chose down third period so no reversal happened. Count them 1-2-3-4 takedowns. 1st period 4-1 (2 T) , 2nd period ends schoettle up 6-2(3T) , 3rd period E-Davis(cut) 6-3 Takedown#4 Schoettle =8-3 CUT Davis Final 8-4. Like I said before I haven't seen the tape but Italianmom's account seems more plauseable given the Math.

I watched it three or so weeks ago. I dont have it here and have seen 100 matches since. Either way they wrestled near the start of the season so I would bet the farm both are better. I have to say I have not seen Davis taken down three times all year other than if you are correct. Shoettle must be a machine or had something he knew on Davis. I have seen Mastison live and would not be shocked if he knocks him off first round. Also, cutting and escaping are not the same. Davis either was let up or wrestled out...there is a difference.
Let's do the Math--- Schoettle scored 8 offensive points no penalties or escapes. Did Schoettle have Davis on his back? If no, then all 8 points came from takedowns.
8/2= 4 takedowns. By your account Schoettle must be a beast or "machine" as you say. I do believe he got 4 takedowns and I have not seen the the tape. Just did the math. The rest is history and tomorrow is another day. They will wrestle again and it could go either way.

Is the 113 weight class based on the semi-state bracket? Schoettle beat Davis 8-4 with Schoettle taking Davis down 4 times and cutting Davis 4 times.
Is he by chance have an older cousin or brother that wrestled few years back . Just Curious?

So Lahue beats Shepard 4-2 in OT then on Saturday beats Whitley 5-1. Does that mean that the three best 113 lbers in the semi-state are all going to wrestle in the Jeff Sectional? This guy thinks so.
Do any of the three get an oppurtunity to wrestle Schootlee of cetner grove before semi-state?
-
Imo that makes Bailey 2nd at 113 with Matthew near the top at 106. Just one mans opinion but at those low weight classes I could see both Lahues having a very very good year.
Id like to see the outcome of that 106 and 113 weight classes, Bailey 2nd at 113 doubtful 3 Upperclass "MEN" , Shepards The Favored Senior along With Johns and Schoettle , Last time they Matched up If my memory serves me well Schoettle Won By close to tech fall , and Terrance "TheKid" Kennedy one heck of an athlete , I'dLove to see him vs Shepard/Schoettle. In my Opinion this weight-class is open season any one of the top four could walk away with the Semi-State
Now as for 106 Id Favor Matthew 2nd behind Kuhn , Kuhn is very solid Wrestler better have your shoes tied tight and your lunch packed right to beat this kid
Just My Two Cents on the little guys this year .

To assure yourself a spot in the top 8 in Indiana for TEAM comp you have to do some recruiting. If you don't get caught then I guess it is ..... not really cheating?Recruiting
Very few of those programs actually develop kids from the start and get lots of move-ins. The coaches at these programs would really struggle with kids that have never wrestled before coming out for the team.
Top 8 Indiana Teams are jockeying for the top talent.# 9 thru 25 are probably true community teams not All Star or Club Teams.
I agree with Y2 ON THIS ONE

You have to wonder if James can handle the mental and physical side of it.Transitioning from middle school to high school is a huge jump . By the looks of it only a select few freshman have ever won a state title at a weight above 103, Ex. Tsirtsis (Alex and Jason) ,Escobedo ,Mauer. 3 of the 4 are 4-timers and one on his way to join that club. That is some of Indiana's Elite and i would find it hard to see Brandon James on that level yet . Brooks is the more experienced wrestler and is very confident wrestler he won't give up the State Title or let anything stand in his way as a Senior . I'd have to go with Brooks ,but that's just my two cents . Good luck too both wrestlers this year .

I am a little confused ??? Johns beat Goebel right? But i heard somewhere that Shoettle beat Johns 16-4 at Zionsville. Can somebody verify that ?Some people may think this is an upset but far from it , Goebel will take care of bussiness against Schoettle , I can see him advancing to the finals .
