  2. class of 2011 could be one of the best ever. I was thinking just average compared to other years like other people on here but after the sweep I think the class of 2011 is a step above most years. Have  we ever swept Illinois at the allstar meet? Yes I know they did not have all of the state champs and we had some kids not go also and that happens every year, that being said they are one of the top wrestling states and very deep. I am also starting to think this class has more kids that should be ranked on the national rankings and this class is one of the best ever in  Indiana.Illinois is for real and this is a major stepping stone for indiana wrestling.

  3. yes I do agree on getting a education but I do care how indiana kids do at the next level, I would like to see more of our indiana kids  wrestling at the next level  and after they are done with that they can give back to clubs schools and indiana wrestling, showing what it takes. For example in PA they have  manny ncaa champs all americans and next level wrestlers that come back run clubs  and coach and this is one major reason they are a top wrestling state and yes we do have guys that come back and coach but  they have many more top level coaches. By going to nationals and finding the best training and pushing to get better, indiana will get better, we are starting to see more in state training schools like cia and that helps.  I think I like  Howe , Angle, Humphrys and some others  way of getting better then waiting for things to even out and a few late bloomers.

  4. Mason Todd and Neal Malloy......Some parents do not have the benefit or the time to send their children across the country to wrestle and I am pretty sure that is the same way it is all over the country.  If I had a child that was that good or he/she thought that they were that good I sure would like to be able to send them all over the US to wrestle the best competition and I know that it would serve them well but we are talking about Indiana and our local kids....

National competition is great and will help them a lot if they go to the college level and wrestle but look at all of the Indiana wrestlers that are doing well at the next level without a lot of national competition.....I personally think that Andrew Howe and Angel would have still done as well as they have done without doing national tournaments.  There are no tougher kids anywhere else than here in Indiana......It is more about who has more drive and will power than the next kid from another state....All of these Indiana kids on this list and several more are well deserving and if they go to the next level will be all stars...

[/quote Andrew Howe trained  at over time in Illinois and that cost thousands a year and wrestled all over the country. Angle trained all over the country and brought in top coaches and wrestled all over the country at nationals. Maloy and todd have been to nationals.

  5. Roach has not lost in 2 years in indiana wrestling sims has several losses this year and last and roach beat sims last year. I  do think if the match did go we would be talking about a different team state champ but rules are rules and cp should learn them.

  6. While I agree it would be nice to seed the event I do think CP ended up where they were suppose to on that day.  Even with the Roach mess up their is a good chance they still lost to MD.  MD then lost to LN.  LN then lost to PM.  So basically on the day it could be argued that CP was the 4th best team on the day behind at least 1st Perry, 2nd Lawrence North, and 3rd Mater Dei.  That doesn't even account for a talented Penn on the other side of the bracket that gave PM a very close match.  While CP had a great team this year they just were not able to put enough together to win the team title on Saturday.  On the other side of things Lawrence North was able to put everything together and exceed most people expectation and beat MD to make the finals.

  7. I would like to hear who has done the best at a national level and who has done the best at state over the past 4 years Guys like phillips, Stevenson, jackson, Sigla are probaly better than most on this list. Some guys on this list had one good state finals and some have had great highschool careers.

  8. Bellmont does have about 200 more students than Indian Creek, so it is not quite 50% larger but it is substatially bigger. None the less Seven from there and Seven from Yorktown a school of 755 and the five from Indiana Creek far outweighs the eight Crown Point Advancers from their school of 2530.

Thats all people are trying to say here...jeez...... more inportant than school size is the kids had some type of feeder program to start  and  parents who made wrestling part of  life, the same way parents from crownpoint, mish or any school big or small,  you find groups of kids who's parent's stuck together and wanted the best for the kids and the kids wanted to be the best. Most times it ends up out side of the feeder program and ends up a a top notch wrestling school  and work outs with  top coaches. maybe not all, but most follow this direction, when a school is good big or small it comes down to putting in the time to be good.

  9. Has to be Reece or Goldman. Reece pinning the field, and it is not his fault they weren't as highly ranked, he just wrestled who they put in front of him. And Goldman for pulling off two upsets on the way when nobody was picking him to finish above 5th. (# 3 Berry of Merrillville, and # 2 Stevenson who beat # 1 Sliga.)

Goldman finished above two national ranked wrestler top ten in the country. Reece was great but 215 was one of  the weeker classes if not the weekest, this was not Reeces falt he is stud among  pretty good wrestlers. but goldman came out and suprised everone.
