  1. I agree with coach Hartman.. Its like pissing in the wind.. The IHSAA needs to establish a leg to stand on..Otherwise, programs are going to lose kids to other schools and the integrity of the sport is/will continue to be compromised. Some administrations throughout the state are weak and gutless and will do what ever it takes to win. This is not the NFL/MLB/NBA.. There is no free agency.

    Funny!! Very good comparison too

  2. I mean seriously, i know this has nothng to do with wrestling directly, but the IHSAA is now asking the Indiana State Supreme court to over turn the rulling that allowed Jasmine Watson to play for South Bend Washington last year. Now some might say, that is what the IHSAA is supposed to do, and while i would agree that they should make competition fair. The girl graduated LAST YEAR... that is right, she is done and gone from South Bend and is now playing that awful sport at UMASS.

Great call IHSAA, you have the money to fight a legal battle a year after the whole ordeal is over, but not enough to rent a space for the Merrillville semi state to wrestle at. Last i heard the schools were having a hard time keeping even teachers because there is not enough money to go around, but this aspect of our educational system has enough money for Blake Ress to take his personal vendetta against a 19 year old girl. Way to go IHSAA, I guess going after a 19 year old girl is better putting money into our sports to make them better. WHAT A JOKE!

    wahooooooo

  3. Dont sleep on Yorktown....  they are going to be solid again next year.... have a couple of outstanding freshmen coming in that will make an immediate impact to go along with Bevans, Phillips, Jackson, Hiestand and Neff.

    who are the freshmen??

  4. Its deja vu for me....i can remember after the class of 2003 graduated how mishawaka was going to be down and penn would capitalize...Mishawaka went on to beat penn, win the conference and went to state again...amount of seniors lost means nothing especially with a program known for their quality back ups.

good programs always find ways to be consistently good every year. Thats why their good lol. Im sure mishawaka will be good next year just like always. But based on just paper if penn has 10 and Mish has 4 returning, paper wise penn would be the favorite. But thats why we have the off season to improve and get better. On another note, Mater Dei has the potential to be back on top next year  ;D

  5. I don't see the grapevine as much. The spladle I see open a lot and no one tries for it.

Gotta love the fat man roll but no one tries

Boots will try a spladle from anywhere and everywhere  ;D

I agree you don't see a grapevine a whole lot anymore

  6. What question is that?

you were complaining a while back on this thread about how its a disadvantage for kids like McCray and some other kids about how they have to play multi-sports and they cannot focus on one sport and I brung up how MD has had tons of State champions in more than one sport. All of the wrestlers play football.. But this thread has moved on from that you guys are talking about recruiting so if you dont wish to put forth your opinion for that I understand.

  7. I would not rule out Penn in this talk either. They were young with 10 starters returning next year. They had a very young JV  team 7-8 frosh on the line-up) that finished the year with 3 losses (1 to Mishawaka by 1pt, 1 to Elk Mem who had 5 varsity guys in their line-up, and 1 to Edwardsburg in a varsity tournament). I hear they have numbers in the 100's at the beginning of the season and eneded with 88 at the end of the year. As well as over 130 youth kids at their club. WOW talk about a program on the rise.

hey hey its always nice to hear about a program on the rise!

  8. I forgot to put the smiley face after my post.  My bad.  I've been in MD's gym on a Sunday afternoon and seen the crowd at their feeder school meets.  No way is there any recruiting going on.

Thats the key to success man the feeder program  ;)

  9. I didn't mention the "r" word because SOMEONE would jump all over it and say I was accusing Mater Dei of it.  I've been around southern Indiana my entire life and know it's not true.  Mater Dei is one of those places (Jasper is another) we used to fill out football scouting reports on and say that you could take a lineup year after year and just change the first names 'cause of the family tradition.

LOL i wouldn't doubt it. But you did say It would take the heat off MD but I understand your just joking. But castle seems to be popping out kids with the same name everywhere now.  :o
