How many competitors did you have in your weight Caleb??
-
Does anyone know what our roster is looking like, and how many openings there are?
-
Mater Dei, there gunna be hungry and returning all but 1 starter..
-
Im gonna guess and say willis will be a 71 pounder so count him in for the finals there and Sims at 160.you cant leave out the other Welch count him in the finals most likely wherever he goes
-
It would have to be Mauer because he's their only 4 timer
high school accomplishments yes, but collegiate theres other more accomplished. But this is talking about in the history of the high schools so yes it would most likely have to be Maurer
-
Blake Maurer, Greg Schaefer, Matt Coughlin, Craig Weinzapfel, Dan Jankowski, Craig Macke
thats a good list. Could be more

Mater Dei!
Losing one senior and will be highly senior led next year. Next year is their year!!
-
does that go for all states? Do you know how that works in virgina? Thanks for you help
-
can you lose by stalling in the last overtime? Im pretty sure you can't since its only 30 seconds and its the tiebreaker but correct me if im wrong.
-
mater dei vs reitz especially when its at mater dei. Not a seat avaliable and there will even be people standing around. Great atmosphere
-
Jimbo told me he was interested in Illinois State or Purdue for football.
Purdue

I agree with coach Hartman.. Its like pissing in the wind.. The IHSAA needs to establish a leg to stand on..Otherwise, programs are going to lose kids to other schools and the integrity of the sport is/will continue to be compromised. Some administrations throughout the state are weak and gutless and will do what ever it takes to win. This is not the NFL/MLB/NBA.. There is no free agency.
Funny!! Very good comparison too

dA OLE RAT has a strong feeling dat Travis from Merryville will turn a few heads. He is one of da best heavies I have seen in a while. Not sure what he is doing next year asuming playin football but he could be one heck of a college hwt.
If he goes to play football I wonder where at?

I mean seriously, i know this has nothng to do with wrestling directly, but the IHSAA is now asking the Indiana State Supreme court to over turn the rulling that allowed Jasmine Watson to play for South Bend Washington last year. Now some might say, that is what the IHSAA is supposed to do, and while i would agree that they should make competition fair. The girl graduated LAST YEAR... that is right, she is done and gone from South Bend and is now playing that awful sport at UMASS.
Great call IHSAA, you have the money to fight a legal battle a year after the whole ordeal is over, but not enough to rent a space for the Merrillville semi state to wrestle at. Last i heard the schools were having a hard time keeping even teachers because there is not enough money to go around, but this aspect of our educational system has enough money for Blake Ress to take his personal vendetta against a 19 year old girl. Way to go IHSAA, I guess going after a 19 year old girl is better putting money into our sports to make them better. WHAT A JOKE!
wahooooooo

Dont sleep on Yorktown.... they are going to be solid again next year.... have a couple of outstanding freshmen coming in that will make an immediate impact to go along with Bevans, Phillips, Jackson, Hiestand and Neff.
who are the freshmen??
-
Its deja vu for me....i can remember after the class of 2003 graduated how mishawaka was going to be down and penn would capitalize...Mishawaka went on to beat penn, win the conference and went to state again...amount of seniors lost means nothing especially with a program known for their quality back ups.
good programs always find ways to be consistently good every year. Thats why their good lol. Im sure mishawaka will be good next year just like always. But based on just paper if penn has 10 and Mish has 4 returning, paper wise penn would be the favorite. But thats why we have the off season to improve and get better. On another note, Mater Dei has the potential to be back on top next year ;D
-
Sims will be going most likely at 145. He went last year at 140 and placed 5th. Josh Boots will also be going this will be his first national event I believe
-
whats the question?
oh yes I apologize. I guess it really wasnt a question more of me arguing with y2. But he is usually good about responding and we were going at it for a while then he did not reply.
-
I don't see the grapevine as much. The spladle I see open a lot and no one tries for it.
Gotta love the fat man roll but no one tries
Boots will try a spladle from anywhere and everywhere ;D
I agree you don't see a grapevine a whole lot anymore
-
What question is that?
you were complaining a while back on this thread about how its a disadvantage for kids like McCray and some other kids about how they have to play multi-sports and they cannot focus on one sport and I brung up how MD has had tons of State champions in more than one sport. All of the wrestlers play football.. But this thread has moved on from that you guys are talking about recruiting so if you dont wish to put forth your opinion for that I understand.
-
WOW this is still going on? Y2 you never answered my question from a long time ago or at least I dont think you did. ???
-
I would not rule out Penn in this talk either. They were young with 10 starters returning next year. They had a very young JV team 7-8 frosh on the line-up) that finished the year with 3 losses (1 to Mishawaka by 1pt, 1 to Elk Mem who had 5 varsity guys in their line-up, and 1 to Edwardsburg in a varsity tournament). I hear they have numbers in the 100's at the beginning of the season and eneded with 88 at the end of the year. As well as over 130 youth kids at their club. WOW talk about a program on the rise.
hey hey its always nice to hear about a program on the rise!
-
I forgot to put the smiley face after my post. My bad. I've been in MD's gym on a Sunday afternoon and seen the crowd at their feeder school meets. No way is there any recruiting going on.
Thats the key to success man the feeder program

I didn't mention the "r" word because SOMEONE would jump all over it and say I was accusing Mater Dei of it. I've been around southern Indiana my entire life and know it's not true. Mater Dei is one of those places (Jasper is another) we used to fill out football scouting reports on and say that you could take a lineup year after year and just change the first names 'cause of the family tradition.
LOL i wouldn't doubt it. But you did say It would take the heat off MD but I understand your just joking. But castle seems to be popping out kids with the same name everywhere now.

If i remember correctly Sims went 4-3 and wrestled on a bum knee.. had a FF, and lost two 1 point matches. Where did you get your results from?
