WE HAVE HAD INTEREST FROM DALEVILLE, VALPO, AND HUNTINGTON NORTH. WE DO HAVE 2 OFFICIALS. THANK YOU GUYS!!!!! HOWEVER, DUE TO A RECENT CONFLICT WITH THE AD'S SCHEDULE AND SHORT TIME, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HOST THIS YEAR. IT DOES GIVE US A YEAR TO BUILD FOR THE SAME WEEKEND, POSSIBLY THE WEEKEND BEFORE. NorthWood Middle School in Wakarusa, Indiana will be hosting a 5 team Dual invitational. The first 4 teams to commit will be locked in!!!! This is early in our season. We will only have 12 practices in. So don't worry if you are just getting started. 2 mats will be varsity and 1 mat will be JV/exhibition matches. We will not only get 4 duals in, but we want to provide as much mat time as we can for your JV/B team. Manchester University is tentatively set to give short clinic for all wrestlers before the tournament and officiate the JV mat, giving instruction to JV wrestlers. Panther Dual Invite Date: Saturday, January 21st Place: NorthWood Middle School Entry Fee: $150 per team Tickets at the Door: $3 per person or $10 for families Time: Doors will open at 7:00am for teams and 7:30 for the public. Their will be a brief coaches meeting at 8:15. Round 1 will start at 8:30 am. Each of the following 4 rounds will start immediately following the previous round. Awards: Team trophy for 1st and 2nd. Individual medals for 1st place in each weight clas. Champions will be awarded at the end of the tournament followed by presentation of team trophies. Criteria: Team Individual 1. Head to Head 1. Must wrestle all 5 matches 2. Most Pins 2. Best record 3. Most Pins and Technical Falls 3. Best record, head to head 4. Most Pins, Technical Falls, 4. Most Pins and Major Decisions 5. Most technical falls 6. Most major decisions 7. Most match points Weigh-In: Weigh in at your school the night before. Come with a team weigh in sheet with actual weights of wrestlers in each weight class or use weigh in sheet provided. Please be honest about your weights, you and your team’s INTEGRITY depends on it. Weight Classes: Weight classes may be filled with wrestlers in grades 6-8. Forfeits will be counted into the team score. 75-80-85-90-95-100-105-110-115-120-125-130-135-140-145-152-160-171-189-215-285 Format: This will be a round robin dual meet format with one team having a bye every round. Every team will wrestle each other. Please bring all of your wrestlers. We wrestle JV and exhibition matches on mat 3 all day. Prior to each round, coaches will exchange line-ups and fill out score books. Have weigh-in sheets available for the other team’s knowledge at this time. Each team is responsible to a scorebook. Table help will be provided, but your team is required to have scorekeeper at the table. Problems will be discussed with the official and the coaches in a professional manner. Locker Rooms: A locker room will be provided for you, but kept locked most of the day. Please keep all team belongings with the team at all times. NorthWood Middle School will NOT be responsible for lost or stolen items. Concessions: A concession stand will be available. Teams may bring food for team use only. Teams will be expected to clean up their area after every round. There will be a hospitality room for coaches, workers, and officials only. Officials: Still looking for 3 at this time. Possible Teams: Warsaw, Urey, Rochester, Triton, East Noble, West Noble, Central Noble, Bremen, Westview, LaVille, Lakeland, South Bend Schools ? More teams will be invited.
