  1. First off, thanks to everyone in the wrestling community that has supported this project by offering some help, checking in on the website, or following the progress on the Facebook page. The documentary film "Wrestling With Iowa" looks at the lives of two young men as they work through their senior year of high school and fight their way back to the Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament for their one-and-only chance to join the elite 4-Time Champions List. The film visits with former champions to discover what it takes to maintain the focus to be the best and how the lessons learned carried into their adult lives. Follow the story as each wrestler finds their individual path to success at the highest level of high school competition. After two years of working on the project, I can now say I have a film to show. I'm putting together a short theater tour of Iowa to shore the film with the wrestling community, but need your help once again to make it happen and make it a free screening to all. Please check out our fundraiser on Kickstarter at www.kickstarter.com/projects/1424937873/wrestling-with-iowa-screening-tour-and-dvd-product/backers We are doing pre-sales on the feature-length documentary to help fund the tour and to kick start the DVD production process. A donation of $25 will get you a copy of "Wrestling With Iowa" when it hits the scene in late January. Thanks again for your support during the production of the film. Tim Jackson Filmmaker
  2. Congratulations to Jake Marlin & Brandon Sorenson on becoming Iowa's newest Four-Time Champions. The Wrestling With Iowa production has been following these two since last September and with the support of their families and the wrestling communities, the honor is well deserved. Four new videos have been posted up on the website. In the first pair, the two were asked questions from the Facebook fans of the project. Jake http://wrestlingwithiowa.com/2013/02/jakefacebook/ Brandon http://wrestlingwithiowa.com/2013/02/brandonfacebook/ And last weekend, Jake & Brandon were guests on Takedown Wrestling Radio. Director Tim Jackson was a co-host, along with Scott Casber and Steve Foster. Jake http://wrestlingwithiowa.com/2013/02/radio-jake/ Brandon http://wrestlingwithiowa.com/2013/02/radio-brandon/ The project now moves into the post-production phase and relocates back to Ohio University (Athens, OH) to do the editing on the film. We'll keep posting updates, interviews and short films through the next six months. Thanks to everyone for their support of this documentary. Tim Jackson Director, Wrestling With Iowa

  6. It's official... the production of the documentary Wrestling With Iowa has set up headquarters for the upcoming season in Marshalltown. After eight months of planning, it's time to start filming. Before relocating to Iowa for the filming of the documentary, the production had the opportunity to sit down with four-time champion CJ Ettelson (#14, 2000-2003) in New York City. We talked about his high school days, the championships and the lessons learned. Here's the interview.... http://wrestlingwithiowa.com/2012/09/interview-cjettelson/ Follow the production at http://wrestlingwithiowa.com/ Tim Jackson, Director School of Film, Ohio University
  7. In less than two months, we'll start the production cycle of creating the documentary "Wrestling With Iowa." We're getting a lot of great feedback and support from the wrestling community for this project. I recently did an interview with Scott Casber for Takedown Wrestling Radio. We spoke for about twenty minutes about the filmmaking process, wrestling, the Wrestling With Iowa project and a some wrestling trivia thrown in for good measure (it took me a second, but yes, I did remember that basketball coaching legend Adolph Rupp (Kentucky) was once a wrestling coach in Marshalltown, IA.) Here's the interview about the project... http://www.takedownradio.com/articles/7922 Or you can listen to it here... http://wrestlingwithiowa.com/2012/07/press-takedown-radio/ Thanks for your support.
