  1. Today
  2. I'm stepping out until the evening session. It appears that Mendez' quarters match again Yianni is taking place this evening. Great job thus far by our Indiana men and women. Mendez, Lee, Parris, Hildebrandt and Miracle all still alive and working for the all-important Olympic berths. Carroll lost 1-1 to Cox and was absolutely in that match until the bitter end. Great showing by him and he is getting better and better all the time. Boyd, Carroll, Nate Jackson still alive in wrestlebacks. Great action and can't wait for tonight's all-star matches at every weight. Bye for now.
  3. My pleasure, Matt. The wifi is very challenging so I'm having to delete posts because they're timing out. I'm trying to work through it. 44 year old Aliaksandr Kikinou just knocked off Greco mainstay Jesse Porter, is in the semis at 77kg in Greco.
  4. Dingo Brigade is putting out some really solid updates on this sites College and International board if you guys would like some more details.
  5. Thanks for all the updates Dingo. Stuck at work so nice to have some solid play by play of the early matches before I dive into the evening session.
  6. Fix wins 5-1 over Suriano. Great sportsmanship between the 2 after the match. Spencer Lee nearly techs Megaludis in the first, leads 8-0 in the 2nd Kennedy Blades in a dogfight against Skylar Grote. 2-0 Blades leads in the 2nd period.
  7. Gilman hangs on to defeat the incredible 17 year old Forrest. Fix opening up on Suriano a little bit, leads 5-1 less than a minute left. Zane Richards comfortably over Lilledahl. Cool to see Spencer Lee and Megaludis. Lee looking quick and strong and in control against Megaludis.
  8. Holy moley, the crowd is gassing up Jax Forrest, who has 2 takedowns on Thomas Gilman. Gilman has 3 stepout points, trails 4-3. We have seen established Sr level stars Gilman and Burroughs have to rely on stepout points to offset the takedowns by their much younger opponents.. Gilman gets a nice 2 on the edge of the mat, leads 5-4 to start the 2nd period. Gilman appears to have slowed down Forrest in the 2nd. Still 5-4 with 45 secs left Fix and Suriano in a dogfight. Fix pressuring the head....gets Suriano's leg and the stepout. Fix leading 1-1, still in the first.
  9. Jarrett Jacques beat Vincenzo Joseph and Quincy Monday, will face Nolf next. Heckuva job and I didn't see that coming personally. Jaron Smith scored first with a stepout against Gwiz, but Gwiz responds with a TD and 2 pt exposure, leads 4-1 at the break. Gwiz adds a quick 2 to start the 2nd., leads 6-1 Bradley with the dramatic comeback against Hendrickson...leads 9-6 with a minute to go. The wily veteran still has juice left. Kerkvliet techs Lance, made it look easy.
  10. Boyd down 3-1 with 30 secs left, pushing the pace, looking for something.....10 secs, slips, Drury wins 5-1. Sorry to see Boyd fall.
  11. Alara Boyd against Aine Drury (no relation, I assure you :)) Boyd pushing the action, has Drury on the edge of the mat, gets nothing...didn't see how it happened, but Drury up 3-0 to start the 2nd
  12. Cox returns the favor with a passivity point of his own, takes the lead 1-1 with criteria. Carroll is going to need to score. 30 secs left. Near TD by Carroll at the end, the wily vet Cox holds him off to win 1-1. Bummer, but what a performance by Carroll already. This might bear watching, but Cox appeared to be in excruciating pain as he walked to the locker room. He was moaning loudly and holding his side. Could be a problem for Cox moving forward. Nate Jackson off to a quick start against Kollin Moore, leads 2-0 early in the first. Flurries ensue, Moore opens up a 6-4 lead early in the 2nd. Jackson tied it up but Moore pulls it out.
  14. So cool to be seeing Carroll against J'Den Cox. Scoreless thru 75 seconds. Carroll scores first with a passivity point, 1-0, short time in the first period. Carroll up on Cox at the break 1-0.
  15. Mendez has Yanni next Carroll over Cassioppi.... has Cox next
  16. Nolf gets out early and coasts to a pretty easy win over Marinelli. Braxton Amos was up 7-4 in his Greco match and got injured. Diante Cooper wins by Inj. Def.
  17. Mesenbrink up 12-3 in the 2nd, continues to push the pace, ends up teching Lockett, 13-3
  18. Mesenbrink get another TD, gets a deep gut, turns Lockett, leads 8-1 at the break. Burroughs just knows how to win, but credit Facundo with getting deep in on Burroughs' legs. He just can't complete the TD. Facundo with a stepout point, cuts it to 5-3 but only 9 seconds left. A TD would win it for Facundo...JB survives!, 5-3
  19. Lockett with a lightning quick single, somehow Mesenbrink avoids going to the mat, scrambles and gets in on Lockett's legs, leads 2-0. Mesenbrink reminds me a little of Nick Lee out there. Just keeps going, very fundamentally solid. Burroughs is really being tested by Facundo. Gets his 4th point via stepout, leads 4-2.
  20. Had to rub my eyes, but Facundo gets the first 2 against Burroughs. JB responds with a stepout, 2-1 Facundo. Another stepout, 2-2, criteria still with Facundo Lockett and Mesenbrink up now...can't wait to see what these 2 will do.
  21. So many studs. It's very hard to keep up with them all. Hidlay with a quick stepout on Starocci. Starocci ties it with one of his own. 1-1, 1 minute left in the 1st. 1-1 to start the 2nd. What a match. They exchange 2nd period TDs, but Hidlay get an additional 2, leads 5-3. Starocci has under a minute left....Hidlay gonna pull it out and beat Starocci. What a hard earned win for Hidlay. Marstellar looking good against Wick. Wins 5-0. Just heard that Marstellar and GR standout Stefonowicz are brothers. Both won their matches on abutting mats.
  22. Mat 4 Mirasola against a grown man in Aaron Brooks...Mirasola takes the early lead 2-1. Brooks ties is on a stepout. 2-2, Mirasola with criteria, Brooks continues to push the action, gets another stepout, on top 3-2 over the 18 year old Mirasola. Starts to pour it on, opens up a 9-2 lead. He really wore him down as the match progressed. Mirasola remained competitive, got a 2nd period TD but they had a clash of heads that really knocked Mirasola for a loop. 4Xer Brooks wins 11-5, but what an effort by Mirasola Dieringer up 3-2 over Mark Hall. Wins 5-2, looked pretty solid.
  23. Alirez pulls it out 6-2 over Bartlett, who looked very competitive with the former NCAA champ.
  24. Lots of explanations for the scoring in the final flurry with Yianni and Larkin. Yianni pulls it out like a champion
  25. Mendez over Green 6-3 Lee over Plantaleo 9-2
  26. Nick Lee wins 9-2. Green using some stepouts to get a 3-0 lead, Mendez responds with a TD with a minute left. 40 seconds, Mendez stalking...gets the leg, get the TD and 2 for a quick exposure....Mendez winning 6-3. Wins 6-3! Indiana wrestlers have been phenomenal thus far. Yianni looking vulnerable against Larkin, who is so long for this weight. Very tough body type to compete against in FS....8-8, with Larkin with criteria...Yianni with a sweep single, chops out Larkin's leg to complete the takedown. Bricks from both sides Bartlett up on Alirez 2-2 by criteria in the 2nd period.....Alirez stalking
