Dream Team Opener Duals

Recommended Posts

Always though it would be cool to have a conference vs. conference challenge similar to Big10 vs. ACC College B-Ball thing.  You already see most teams in your concerned during the year, but getting outside conference matches that help with common opponents isn’t always easy.

Invite the top teams from two separate conferences to a maximum of 7 teams each. Have it over one or two days (2 matches Friday and 5 Saturday if needed). Best overall conference record wins the title for that years.

You get up to 7 matches against schools you don’t see as much.  A lot of common opponents for seeding purposes rather than the old we didn’t face them discussion.  And the conference actually working together and cheering each other on for some bragging rights rather than against each other the rest of the year.

Alernative but to me less appealing setup would be.  Creating two pools of up to 7 teams.  Your conference in one pool and another conference in the other.  You face all your conference team which give you a finishing order.   Then you pair up with the other conference team that finished in the same spot for your final match.  Conference with the best record in the final matches wins.

This would help if you need a good weekend to face most of your conference opponents.  But it wouldn’t give you much chance at additional matches or common opponents.

I Like That Idea, Like you said it would get you those Non-Conference Duals, You could do like Team State and take the top 4 from each conference based on placements in conference and then Take a scramble where the 1-4 from each conferences are in different Pools and based on the placement of those for teams would determine your Conference's ranking
