STYLES COVERED: Freestyle, Greco, and Folkstyle

Mission Statement: INT-RTCs unify the Indiana wrestling community under one goal to advance the sport across the state INT - RTC 2024 primarily in Olympic Styles of wrestling.

The intention of an INT- RTC practice is NOT to be a club practice, rather to be a site for potential ISWA National Team members, coaches  and hopefuls to come together and train in Olympic Styles.

The purpose of the ISWA INT-RTC’s are to allow individuals to achieve their full human and athletic potential. The INT-RTCs provide ISWA National Team  hopefuls access to national team and silver level coaches. INT-RTCs should mirror ISWA and USA Wrestling’s mission, vision, and values.

A key focus is to raise the relevance of Olympic Style wrestling in Indiana. Within IHSAA rules, INT-RTCs provide additional opportunities for Indiana National Team Coaches to further develop and enhance their individual programs, while helping the surrounding area clubs and schools. This cooperative effort strengthens the connection between the Olympic Movement and high school athletics.

An INT - RTC will not tolerate any site, or visitor talking “recruitment”. This should be a pressure free, Olympic spirited, environment.  (Recruiting kids to our national teams should be a daily occurrence though!)

Each INT- RTC will have a weekly 20-30 minute focus written by an Indiana National Team Staff member so that every site every week, no matter where they are, they have a unity and common vocabulary to them.  If there is more than one INT-RTC in the area each night of the week - all of them should start with this common practice plan.

The intention is to get as many “paired” sites working together to get more kids training together and not just working one site, one style - rather visiting others and spreading the talent.

I returned to Hobart high school to enjoy some Regional #1 wrestling,  and, more important,  check out the hot dogs.  First things first, on my first trip to Hobart, I do believe they did slip me a polish sausage,  which is funny, because that's the same line my ex girlfriend gave me when I caught her cheating.  Anyway, I did enjoy this hot dog better, but, there was one thing.  Both dogs I got were Luke warm at best, so that did impact the score.  The regional hot dogs get 5.75 slices of pizza outta 8.  Now, I did have a guest reviewer, my kid Chris Jr. and this is how that interaction went.

CJ "those hot dogs were good" he stares back into his phone

    Me " they were? Why?"

    Cj - annoyed sigh

    Me " tell me"

    Cj- annoyed grumble

Me "how many slices of pizza?"

Cj "7, I guess" back to phone.

Next stop, semi state at East Chicago.  It feels like I was just there.  Thank you for reading.

I knew I liked your kid. You know, he can't see very well, but that just enhances his sense of taste. I vote for your son to take over your job lol

All in good fun, the hotdog announcement was for you! Good luck this weekend!

Wow.  My spreadsheet shows almost exactly the same thing.  Only difference is I have LC with 3 champs.  I have Merrillville with 6 second placers to LC's 2.  Final score 216-200 Merrillville.  This is without taking into account any extra points for falls, majors or techs.  So should come down to bonus points.

Well 216 without any bonus would mean that all 12 merrillville kids would get 1st. 18 points for first without bonus.

The Lake Central move added about 8 expected semi-state qualifiers to your regional, and the rest of the regional collectively improved slightly. You're closer to a 4 than a 2 now, actually.

    So are we a 4 or a 3?

We will take 4 if thats an option lol
