About Me

I have been the Head Coach at Terre Haute South, Owen Valley, Bedford North Lawrence, Crawford County. I have never had a losing Season as a Head Coach. 2017-2018 has been an Outstanding Year at Crawford County. We went 14-4 as a 1A School. We won the Southern Indiana Wrestling Conference. We won the first ever Patoka Lake Athletic Conference. We took two Wrestlers to Semi-State. We have 132 David Sage a Semi-State Qualifier who was recruited by Kentucky Wesleyan College and will attend as a Red Shirt Freshman for the 2018 - 2019 School year. I like taking the Teams that are in trouble and fixing the program. I spent two Summers of my life at the Olympic Training Center. I have won national Titles in Sambo, Greco Roman. In 1978 I was the 1st ISWA State Champion in Free Style. I was a First Alternate in the 1977 Junior World Camp and the 1978 World Elite Camp. I was a 5X All-Navy Champion. 1985 All-Service Silver Medalist. I Coached the South Pacific out of Japan with a 17-1 Dual Meet Record. My All-Navy Feeder Team went to Coach Robert Hermann. As a Coach my Navy Squad went to Guam and beat their Olympic Team in all but one weight Class. This was highlighted in the Stars and Stripes News Paper. I Coached the 2008 Team Indiana Trip to Japan. I Coached under 1960 Olympic Champion Shelby Wilson for 2 years. Shelby and I have held Several Clinics over the years and a Summer Camp. I Coach for the love of the sport. Not many know my background as I do not talk about it. At age 58 I am now on a year to year how I feel Coach. I spent 21 years in the Navy and retired as a Naval Officer. I spent 7 tours in the Gulf and I am 80% disabled. Coaching the kids and working with them takes out the pain I feel everyday. I have many great friends that won Gold Medals in the Olympics and World Championships. I do not always get along with some Coaches, but they just do not know me. Some Coaches are great friends of mine. The ones who know me best are great friends.
