The worst call I've seen all year. Unfortunately it had to come at this stage of competition. Robinson was robbed of the finals birth, his only consolation is that he has two more years to get back what was stolen from him.
  5. With so many other better venues, why are we subjected to watching the premiere high school wrestling event of the region in a sardine can? Why can't this be changed?
  6. 120 has 11 state qualifiers and I believe some that are not currently ranked
  7. No problem, gotta keep the region love alive. Also, l didn't mention that Hanover alumni Andrew Howe and Roger Vukobratovich were on hand to shake hands and take pictures with each and every place winner during the awards presentations. Nice Touch
  8. A very nice job of hosting the event by Hanover Central. The tribute before the finals to Coach Willems was emotional, touching and well done. 9. Lake Central win over Chesterton Lake Central win over Griffith East Noble win over Lake Central Lake Central win over Munster SB Clay win over Lake Central Lake Central Undefeated -Kyle Ayersman, Matt Lechowicz
  10. From the NWI Times 11/26/11: Lake Central 126-pound wrestler Kyle Ayersman won all nine of his matches by fall and was named the most valuable wrestler of the War on the Wabash tournament Saturday at Harrison High School. The Indians were 8-1 and finished second to host Harrison (10-0). Harrison beat Lake Central 37-35 to hand the Indians their only loss. Other undefeated Lake Central wrestlers were Matt Lechowicz (120), Jordon Goodwin (132), Mike Escobedo (138) and Gelen Robinson (220).
  11. Lake Central is 9-1, 8-1 at the War on the Wabash and a dual win vs Michigan City.

Lake Central over Michigan City 59 to 16
  13. From Lake Central, Mike Escobedo and Jordan Goodwin were also individual champs.
  14. Lake Central had 3 undefeated, going 9-0. Ayersman name outstanding wrestler with 9 pins. Kyle Ayersman Matt Lechowicz Gelen Robinson Several others from LC with only one loss.
  15. Saroff is very tough, he beat Lechowicz to get to the ticket round last year. The word is he's not wrestling this year.
  16. At 120, Matt Lechowicz from LC defeated Adam Brodie in all three of their meetings last year. The last time was for the 3rd seed going into the Merrillville semistate.
  17. Dunefan, My post didn't come across real clear. What I'm sayin is technically if you look at the scores of Ayersman's matches this year he has not given up a point. He got taken down once by the Crown Point kid, then he got the pin so the score was WBF. He got reversed once by the Jennings County kid, then he got the pin, score - WBF. If you count the points prior to the WBF's he would have given up 4 points in 37 matches this year - not bad.
  18. Don't recall Kyle giving up a point in any match this year. He has been taken down but ended up with the pin.
  19. Portage 35 Lake Central 28 LC had wins from: 112 Matt Lechowicz 119 Kyle Ayersman 125 Brandon Lopez 130 Jake Sebahar 140 Bradley Wartman 215 Gelen Robinson Hwt Pat Biancardi
  20. Just to get it out there, Gelen Robinson of Lake Central defeated the #8 ranked (215) Mike Nickson of Merrillville 3-2 at last nights dual.
  21. Merrillville 44 Lake Central 29
  22. Ahh a "technicality", I couldn't see anyone beating him so far.
  23. Just curious, who beat J. Brooks at 12?
