  1. As the Head Coach of Evansville Central, I just wanted to let everyone know how proud I was of our boys effort today. This was the most fun I’ve ever had as a coach at the Regionals. Everyone wrestled to expectations and a few exceeded them. They practiced hard this past week and wrestled even harder. Even though one didn’t make it out, he wrestled hard against a superior opponent. That’s all anyone could ask. ALL five boys represented their school, family, program and themselves with class and dignity. Well done and you all deserved everything you’ve accomplished so far this year. Keep believing in yourselves and good luck this Saturday in the semi state. Coach Lapadat
  2. FUNNY, FUNNY, FUNNY Greg Warren's Stall Camp is definitely the best "mockumentary" I've ever seen about wrestling. Great job Flute Man

  4. Congratulations to all the UIndy wrestlers who did so well at the Michigan State Open this past weekend. I'm sure coach Warthan very proud of you. Evansville Central High School is proud to call Austin Chamberalin one of its own. What a way to start a career. Go Hounds, and good luck at Purdue on Friday night and Campbellsville on Saturday. Mike Lapadat Head Coach Evansville Central High School
  5. Jeff, Will you be using the old weight classes or the new ones. I am interested but our football linemen are going to I.U. linemen camp on Saturday and I will have trouble filling all the heavier weight classes. The fewer at the top, i.e the old weight classes, the better for me. Thanks, let me know!!!!!!!!!!!! 7. I am looking for some individual folkstyle tournaments to go to. If you know of any please post. I have looked at themat.com and trackwrestling.com. Thanks, Mike Lapadat
  8. Where were all you guys the last two years? I ran a Purler Wrestling Academy, Foundations of Wrestling, weekly practice in Evansville, IN from October 2007 to December 2009. I stopped at the end of 2009 due to low attendance. When Nick Purler and I decided to close it down it was down to one student. This Foundations of Wrestling weekly practice was supplemental to your school or club practices and ran year round. I taught the Purler system and also had numerous one day Purler Takedown Camps as well as one day Purler Leg-Riding Camps. Nick Purler would e-mailed me the weekly practices. They were identical to the one's he and his brother Tony did at their weekly Foundations of Wrestling practices. It was for elementary, middle, and high school wrestlers. While Nick and Tony have waiting lists, I was struggling to have two, three, or four kids come consistently. We thought Southern Indiana would be a hot bed for wrestling also, and that this weekly, year long academy would succeed. I advertised it on this web site, Indianamat.com, for the whole two years. I set out fliers and talked to hundreds of parents who liked the idea, but when push came to shove they did not come. If I had a dollar for every parent who called me and then did not show up, I could retire to sunny Florida. I would like to have a Regional Training Site here in Evansville, IN also, but when I asked around someone told me they tried it and nobody came. Funny, this sounds familiar. Good luck to you guys. I hope you figure it out. I would be more than willing to reopen if there is enough interest. Contact Nick Purler at www.purlerwrestling.com if you would like the Evansville, IN site to reopen.

  11. Austin Chamberalin of Evansville Central is undefeated this year (15-0) so far. He has wrestled in the Mt. Vernon Turkey Classic and the Evansville Reitz Hill Classic against some very good teams. He won the 2009 ISWA Folkstyle State Tournament at 140 beating Evan Weinzapfel from Evansville Mater Dei in the finals (6-1) and King from Evansville Reitz in the semi's (3-2). He pinned Johnson from Perry Meridian in the first period on day one of this same tournament. He was second at Lawrence Central's USA tournament in October 2009. He was beat by someone from Illinois.
  12. We are buying a new Dollamur Flexi-roll mat and have this Mat Rack storage and moving system to sell. It is about 5-years old. New, they cost $4,850.00. We are selling it for only $1,500.00. It is already assembled and we will bring it to you fully assembled with payment on delivery. There is nothing wrong with it, we just don't need it anymore. To see a picture and read up on it go to www.resilite.com. We still use it, but our new mat will be here in January. If interested, please call me, Mike Lapadat, @ 812-589-5691. I am the assistant coach at Evansville Central High School, and have the authority from our athletic director to sell it. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
