  1. Why do you care? Because you or your kid was not good enough to get "recruited"? Parents make sacrifices, and put their children in the best positions to be succesful. Some have that opportunity to do this at private programs, and some do not. That is called life.
  2. Of course. Parents would never let their own kid accept responsibility. That's just bad parenting imo
  3. Deondre Wilson from Warren Central is a little ball of muscle. I didnt think anyone was stronger than Martin from Franklin Central, but Wilson is.
  4. Wow...Just...wow. One of the best tributes I have ever seen. Never knew him, but his impact is widespread.
  5. He is a super nice guy. Guy has crazy distance running ability. Yeah I tyhought we had wrestled at some point, but I must be thinking of someone else from Dekalb.
  6. Yeah I lost in OT to Tim 3-2 in the semis. He went on to win state, and had a great career. I remember speaking to him. Nice guy. I think I coach a kid who's father is friends with you at Franklin Central. He is a National Guard guy. I remember he is from Dekalb. That weight was tough that year at SS. Tim Myers Champ, Derek Crousore 3rd, Mike Adtkins 5th i think. I choked again Friday.
  7. Yeah, I lost to Ester after that in the semis 4-3. The very next year I drew Tony Elkins from Ft Wayne North(placed 5th previous year) in the ticket round & won 5-4. I remember Aaron Wilson bolting. Elkins did the same thing. Both Elkins & Wilson were big 119 guys, and Elkins had beat Ester at Regional to make that match happen. It was 92 btw.
  8. That is a valid point, and I am not saying either of those things. I am fully for wrestlebacks. I lost Friday night twice, and certainly felt I was better than many that placed. I am now also much older, and I know I am not defined by those losses. The older we get, the better we were right? ;D That said, the system is what it is, and the IHSAA does not seem to have intentions of negotiation. I actually hope they change it, but it's been this way for a long time.
  9. Great post from someone who appears to be very grounded. Coach Miracle obviously isn't trying to raise great wrestlers, he is raising great people. More should try this approach. Why is it every year people complain like this is just starting to happen? I drew the #2 ranked kid in 93 Ft Wayne SS in the ticket round. I fortunatley got the victory, but it was because we didn't whine about that draw. We workedc hard that week to prepare to win. Same thing happened when my brother drew Eric Kieth 1st round of state in 99. his quote was, "Eric Kieth got a bad draw". Relish the challenge. Embrace the obstacle, and strive for victory. If you lose, so what. Wrestling has shaped many of our lives, but we are not defined by our losses, and not every experience is a "win". Ask any of the kids at 120 coming from the PM Regional. My bet is 1-3 make it to state. Difficulties are only a sign of normalcy. Pain is to be expected. Mostly, we survive.
  10. I watched his finals match at this tourney & it looked like there was a little "smack" talk at the end of it. Never seen that from him.
  11. I think it was a cowardly act by the coach as well, if in fact, that is what happened. I am not calling that coach a coward btw, but the mattter should be addressed between coaches. If my neighbor is doing something illegal or in violation of our HOA, I am will speak with my neighbor not go to an authority. Just the right thing to do. I expect all you "letter of the law" folks to notify the officials when you are awarded points not earned, falls where shoulders not down, etc. I hate cheaters btw, and think "fake(breather)" injury timeouts should be penalized a point. If this is what happened I do not see intent to break rules. Once again, why does he have a bottle in the weigh in line?
  12. Here is a question. What good came of this? I say nothing. That being said, why does he even have a bottle near him while weighing in?

    UPSETS

I don't think it matters what he wears. His team is on a mission. It all provides good conversation
  14. From what I saw from Micic, i like him to win over Boston easily. Boston went into OT, and looked sluggish.
  15. This kid looked like a beast tonight. i believe he got a pin to make it to saturday. Good work.

    UPSETS

Anyone see the suit PM coach Tonte was wearing? It gets the upset of the night hands down winner. Does he have any friends that are honest? All of them that said that's a good look lied
  17. Yeah, these 2 met in all 4 with Talamentes winning all of them.
  18. I 'm not going to say I disagree, but I think I can make more of a case of guys who went to state or placed but didn't win at lower weights as FR & SO, then proceeded to win 1 or more State titles at higher weights. Tim Myers, Steven Bradley, Reece Humphrey,...just to name a few off my head.
  19. You are not saying what most won't. You are coming off as jealous. Maybe you were not a blue chip wrestler, and your family couldn't financially provide like his can? I know mine could not have; however, if I thought my son had better opportunities, and I felt my finances could further his overall progression in education and wrestling....I would not hesitate. He is lucky to have these opportunities, and in no way should that be seen as a negative.
  20. It depends on the kid, but there are an absurd amount of NFL players that were former state champ wrestlers. There were also many others that excelled in wrestling. If you look at many pro athletes, they also excelled in other sports. Like I said, it depend on the kid, but I think playing multiple sports is better for them all around. Noone goes pro in wrestling. If you want to be a teacher/coach, that is great. I am only aware of one Olympian from Indiana. I am sure there could be more, just not aware of them.
  21. I got nothing but respect for a kid that comes on here to answer, as well as address all of his supporters & critics. It sounds like he has a vision for his future, and a plan to attain his goals on & off the wrestling mat. Good luck on your future.
  22. What I suggest the people complaining to do is check out Kyle Dake's post match celebration on flowrestling.com. He calls his opponent an "idiot" for position selection. I don't hold it against Dake. He was being filmed, and answering a question 60 seconds after having his arm raised; however, what is more classless? I don't hear anyone on here complaining about that...nor should they be.
  23. That still makes no sense to me. IT IS THE NCAA FINALS! Add all the other drama involved in this match, and that kid deserved that celebration. Listen to his press conference. You can tell he respects his opponent David Taylor, but does have resentment for Cael...and he should. Once again, no one posting here that disagrees has EVER won an NCAA title; therefore, you don't know the emotions that culminate when you reach the pinnacle. I don't either, but I can imagine...and I never celebrated a win at state, nationals, or anywhere. I would have here though. I also don't think he expected to pin him, and that might have led to the spontaneous nature as well. In that split second he reacted...end of story.
