  1. I'm guessing the answer is inversely proportional to how many better options are available.
  2. Have you checked tuition at Culver?
  3. Possibly have an interest at 113. Reach out please
  4. No disrepsect to the big guys, but there is no way those top weights are as deep as the lighter weights. That said, any underclassman that not only dominates, but competes at a high level at these weights is Incredibly impressive. I find this discussion as splitting hairs. Both are fantastic, and we are all lucky to have watched these 2 the last 4 years represent this state of Indiana. Looking forward to following the next chapter for both.
  5. He also knocked me out for my final match in 1993 at Market Square. I didn't start until 7th grade, and seeing what he & others have done in much shorter periods is amazing. Deondre Wilson was thee first that came to mind for me. Proof that with hard work, great coaching, and practice partners great things can be achieved. I'd be interested in how often this happens with smaller less competetive schools.
  6. Great tourney for Indiana kids & congrats to all those who competed. I know Decatur is an elite talent, as is Asa, but was it just me that Decatur looked much larger than Asa?
  7. Which set? They won't be the same this weekend as they were the previous weekend.
  8. That makes sense. It does seem that we see non Middle School State weight formats more than we do. USA Winter Nationals & USAW Preseason Nationals were also different than the State weights. Regardless, its doesn't matter much. Just curious.
  9. The current offering for middle school dual tournaments is great in central Indiana, and hopefully throughout the entire state. Weekly the weight classes seem to fluctuate. Why do the weight classes vary week to week depending on who is hosting the tournament? Why don't all tourneys use Middle School State Tournament weights? This isn't a complaint...just a question; however, I don't see how consistency wouldn't be a positive, but possibly there is a valid reason I have not considered.
  10. It was completely uncovered before, and now Flo covers most events. Not sure what there is to complain about here? They arent going to send a crew to a tourney with travel expenses, equipment costs, etc for free. The same reason the preseason rankings magazine isn't handed out for free by Joe. I feel lucky we have Flo.
  11. Love Mason, and in his limited national tourney experience he has performed outstanding; however, Gable dominates these tourneys, won JR Worlds, and just won a college open tourney. As an Indiana guy I hope I'm wrong, but I dont think its close right now.
  12. Completely makes sense. Thanks for the response. Wherever you guys decide it's best for him to land next year, I look forward to following him & good luck at Ironman.
  13. Jesse is obviously a next level kid on the mat & seems like a great all around person. I look forward to watching him grow as a wrestler & young man moving forward. He put on quite a show in his division at MS Super 32. Did you contemplate putting him in the HS division, and what was the reason for not? Just curious.
  14. Tech High School was great. Make weight & hit Roselyn Bakery for some rat poop patries. Remember back then it was a 2 day FS tourney? You had to earn your way to Sunday every year.
  15. This also means he will be out for the match against Daton Fix at the Dapper Dan.
  16. Our mid weights to heavier kids always have a low numbers in their weigh classes here.
  17. Schoolboy 91 was NOT short on talent.
  18. Honesty one of the better things ive witnessed at the finals in 25 years.
  19. Not sure how you dont go 3 way tie. All dominant with similar resumes.
  20. Watched without sound, and came away 12-11 Black. Great match.
  21. A neighbor of mine is a partner at a large law frim in town that has a lower level suite. Neighbor wrestled in PA, and still follows the sport. I have asked him for years to get these tickets for the state finals for us, and every year he says they are gone months in advance. Mind you, he can literally get tickets to anything else held at BLF, but never state finals. My guess is a higher partner takes entire suite every year?
  22. Honest question: Given these excuses, are most of these attitudes what coaches want in their room? I realize we want to do anything to grow numbers, but the more concerning losses to me are the kids that wrestle their whole life & quit sometime at the high school level.
  23. They did in the early 90s. He won it 3X that I know of & possibly 4.
