Look's like we should petition for next year to be a normal Friday night again. This has been a mess. The Friday morning has been really inconvenient for some parents & fans to even make it there. Those kids deserve a hype and packed crowd too. Just my thoughts.

Amen! I didn't want to hijack this thread but I couldn't agree more!

So many negatives with splitting into 2 sessions on Friday & I don't see many positives at all other than finishing a little earlier than normal

Return back to 1 session Friday night & move the start time up an hour or 2 if needed

Splitting into 2 sessions will really impact the atmosphere for the wrestlers in the morning session. It won't be the same, smaller crowd, less overall excitement. Every wrestler competing deserves the traditional Friday night atmosphere!

Teaamates splitting up during parade of champions, not warming up together, just so many negatives

We had something very special in Indiana but sadly it's been a hot mess the past 2 years. I hope to see it returned to the great experience it was!

I logged in 10am was 29th in line found seats and a window popped up saying "hang tight working on your request" 20 minutes later it said I timed out.

Went back in and I was #305 in line I was able to get 4 tickets BUT  were in 3 different sections of the building.

Just got a call that they opened the upper level for ticket sales but I really had 4 tickets.

    Nightmare...

I've been trying for over an hour to purchase tickets on 2 phones & a laptop..

Spinning wheel of death ☠️ ticket master software  can't handle the demand & traffic for this event

    Extremely frustrating!!!

Lee beat Red convincingly one time during the 2020 dual season, other than that all their matches have been tightly contested.

    2016 Red 6-5 (IHSAA Finals)

    2019 Lee 5-4 (Dual)

    2020 Lee 9-1 (Dual)

    2020 Lee 7-5 (B1G's)

    2022 Lee 4-1 (Dual)

Some great matches, I've watched them all & always root for both!

I often think about what Red would look like had he chose another program than Nebraska

I know JB was on staff or at least  more involved in the program back when CJ was in HS & maybe first yr or 2 at Nebraska

CJ was electrifying & so dominant in HS - It is hard for me to understand why he hasn't had the same success in college - other than the program he's in compared to Lee

I think CJ has the raw talent to complete for an Olympic bid in 2024 if he chooses to compete, I just think he needs a new room to train, new coaches, new training partners etc.

As a fan, I hope we get to see Red vs Lee a few more times after this season

    Love watching them both wrestle!

Bunch of bs. All sports it is like this. Our local streams are much better and should be afforded the opportunity. Let the paying customers decide the streaming they want. Take a cut of these local broadcasts if you must.

    I agree 💯

  5. Man this really stinks. The IHSAA really fumbled this one... 🙁

I understand their want to move away from GA seating & into reserved but this was poorly thought out...

    Opportunities for improvement next year:

    - There should be an option for an all session pass that can be purchased on Wednesday or when sales first start. Stinks for fans wanting to attend all sessions to have to buy tickets twice, pay ticket master service fees twice, etc.

    - Allow for schools to buy blocks of seating in advance (50-100 Tix more if needed) so the school can sell them to their parents, fans, etc. So that programs can still have their "blocks" & sit together

    Just my $0.02

@devildog47959 would have had a least 10 guys coming through the Logansport Regional.   I miss the good ole days when the Logansport regional at least had a strong presence on Indianamat.    But 4 seems like a low number. Ill add Its harder to predict this year with so  fewer big matchups due to Covid schedule curtailments   Logansport averages 6 or 7 traditionally.,  Is this year different?

Man I've been crazy busy with life the last few years. Next year I'll have more free time & can add some good feedback for the Logan regional

Have to admit the TL sectional has fallen a bit over the last 5-6 years, the Logan regional is almost dominated by the Jeff sectional these days

My Vikings have a solid core of freshman & sophomores, watch for them to make some noise in the next few years!

West central is another program with some studs & growing talent!

The region boys are the best in the state IMO so the Logan boys always have their hands full! But they bring their lunch pail every year & compete!

If you go to each team on this fancy website there is a link directly to their TrackWrestling team profile for this year.

Y2 - it has been a few years since i have been on the site and I am very impressed & thankful for the upgrades & time/effort/money put into the site

I love the new results section with school logos and links to team pages

I love all the info provided for each team awesome stuff! Carmel team page as an example, I love the past dual results listed right there but would it be too much to ask to have each team's full schedule listed on their team pages? Is this something the coaches could do themselves if not a member of your team? Just a thought

    Thanks!

I know the level of wrestling might not be the same as Brownsburg or Avon,  but the Logansport Regional still has some good drama and suspense.  I know the DevilDog schedule might be busy,  but it would be cool if the DevilDog made a cameo appearance and made the long drive up I-65.

I will do my best to make the Logan Regional it has been a few since I visited the Berry Bowl. You're right this tournament is always full of drama and suspense! I need to do my HW  on these sectionals so I can come prepared

As always  I'm taking the Vikings with 14 champs ;) Bleed Blue for life!

Awesome, thank you!! & Congrats to your family on Asa's signing with IU! I am happy he is staying in state & look forward to seeing him this year & the years to come!

  10. The dog has returned home from Florida & Colorado & is ready to watch some Hoosier HS wrestling this season! I currently live on the Avon/Brownsburg line & would like to watch a few of their duals/tournaments this season

Can someone please share a link to their schedules or post them here?  Thanks in advance!

Unknown made it fun.  Add in Devil Dog, the Logansport Regional might not have had the best wrestlinng, but it had the best buzz.  I predict there will be limted seating at the Berry Bowl.

Living in Florida, Denver, back in Florida & grad school full time leaves little time for me to keep up on all the Berry Bowl knowledge

I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss it!!

Always rooting for my Vikings and after this weekend anyone from Logan

Hope to see some Logan boys at the bank in a few weeks! Just booked a plane ticket home for state weekend! Haven't missed one in years can't break the tradition

Nothing better than an unclassed state tournament and 1 true champion :)

  12. I wanted to share this info with my Hoosier wrestling community

The United States Marine Corps started a new initiative recently to educate and teach teenage athletes the important and invaluable skill of Leadership.

The USMC Sports Leadership Academy is presenting FREE sports clinics across the USA in Wrestling, Basketball, Volleyball

There is no event scheduled in Indiana for 2017 but it is in the works however there are a few in Ohio this year for anyone interested

I HIGHLY reccomend any wrestler attend these FREE clinics no matter the skill level. The leadership lessons that will be taught will last a lifetime long after your athletic career is over

  13. I went to Iran in 2000 for the Tahkti Cup. Hands down the best wrestling trip I had ever been on. The Iranian people are by far the most passionate and knowledgeable wrestling fans in the world....other than those who will be a Banker's Life this weekend,

A little history lesson for a Friday...the World Cup originated in Toledo, Ohio. Joe Scalzo, Sr who lived in Toledo was the Vice President of Fila at the time. The event was held in Toledo from 1973-1992 with the exception of 2 years. The USA won the World Cup and beat the Soviet Union for the first time in 1980. I was there to witness it.

Joe Scalzo Sr was a coach, referee or administrator at every Olympic Games from 1952-1984. He passed away in 1986. I wore a lapel pin that belonged to him on my suit jacket when Fila made us wear the coat and ties. So a little part of Joe made it to one more Olympics.

WOW, awesome! Thanks for sharing I did not know all of that

Really awesome and I have to respect the Iran team for their commitment to this sport the entire country is behind them, that atmosphere was electric!

We are gaining ground had a great tournament as a team!

Stieber wins we win and DT was incredible, the best I ever have seen him wrestle. He beat the worlds best this tournament his confidence has to be at an all time high! I see this as his breakthrough and see him holding down 86K for team USA

I know theres Dake and Cox but if Taylor wrestles like this he won't be beat!

Exciting times for team USA and I love Zaddick as coach!

    David Taylor stuck Hassan Yazdanicharati!

I was freaking out!! Got me all jacked up!!!

Great way to start my day now just a few more hours until the doors open at the Bank!

  14. Team USA is in the world cup finals against host Iran

Iran is the 5X defending world cup champion and Team USA has not won the WC since 2003

Fans can watch Live starting at approx 8:30 am ET via Track Wrestling:

    http://s200.trackwrestling.com/tw/Stream.jsp?eventStreamId=123522011

Team USA went 3-0 in their pool defeating Georgia, Russia, & Azerbaijan

    http://www.teamusa.org/USA-Wrestling/Features/2017/February/17/US-advances-to-World-Cup-final-with-4-4-win-over-Azerbaijan

David Taylor has had a coming out party on the international scene in this world cup defeating multiple Olympic and World medalists including 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist and 2016 Olympic Bronze Medalist Sharif Sharifov of Azerbaijan, winning 12-2

Taylor will face the 2016 Olympic Champion at 74 KG in the match vs Iran

    Go Team USA!

  15. Gotta hand it to B. Black, been rocking the old school Hobart singlets for couple years now. New age singlets are great but kinda sweet seeing the original styles in true form.

I'm also a big fan of the throwback retro singlets! Few years ago at NW we found a box of singlets from the 80s and our guys loved them so we let them wear them on Senior night and a few of the seniors had dads who wore them when they were in HS

    was pretty cool !
