No One Famous reacted to Patrick Mangan in Best Wrestling Rooms in the State
Ours doesn’t look like much because it’s old but it has a classic feel to it. I like it. It’s my dojo.

No One Famous reacted to captaintact in CP and B-burg depth
Are these teams really deep? Or they just recruit well?

No One Famous reacted to boilergrappler in EMD to 3A
As a westsider the recruiting thing just makes me laugh when I speak to friends from up North. One thing that has helped keep Southern IN wrestling and yes also MD wrestling better is pretty simple: MCW Club. That's a simple fact!

No One Famous reacted to blorek in Al Smith vs MD Classic prediction
All of these schools put on great events! Thank you Coach Sandefer and Mishawaka athletic department for hosting the Al Smith. Crown Point has been to the Spartan Classic, and Coach Schaefer has always offered an invite to Mater Dei. I love the variety our state has, and that there’s a holiday tournament for every team all over the state. It’s not about which is the best, but what’s the right place for your team. Tournaments are a lot of work, and holiday tournaments are even harder. Thank you to all those coaches and admins who host and organize holiday tournaments.

No One Famous reacted to Caleb Spires in Best to have never won it?
I think I’m officially on the Brandon James train now, on account of I recently remembered him beating Chad Red at FloNationals after his junior season.
Two IHSAA weight classes separating them or not, they were in the same bracket that day, and James was(I’m pretty sure) the only Indiana wrestler to beat Red offseason during his four years in high school.
I’ve also still never seen Gainsbridge get as loud as they did when Joe Lee reversed James to his back. He was considered a top lock that season, and losing that weekend was viewed as nearly unfathomable.

No One Famous got a reaction from Y2CJ41 in History of the Heavyweight
I believe it was the mid-late 80's. I believe there was a 400 pounder in 84 or 85, but when I graduated in '88 it was capped at 275. I wrestled 98 pounds, so I do not remember which year it was.

No One Famous reacted to aoberlin in No stall warning
Depends on what you call stalling the last 30 seconds. If the wrestler hasn't had any stalling calls, he has the right to hold a good position, have good head-hand defense, and only attack if there is a clear opening. Basically don't force anything and cost yourself the match. As much as we want our wrestlers to bang and attack the whole match, this is also a strategy for the sport. Should a basketball team that is winning drive down the court and take the shot when it isn't necessary and they can let the time run off? Should a football team make a long throw just to try and score one last time even though they are winning?
Yes, if the wrestler is blatantly backing up or running, call it and call it quick that is a gimme. But holding a position and not doing anything dumb is something different. Remember, he is the wrestler who earned the right to control the tempo and the match especially if he hasn't given up a stalling call yet. So many coaches and fans want to act like they got ripped off when this happens. Tell your wrestler not to give up the first 4 points, and this won't happen.

No One Famous reacted to blueandgold in Unlocked Potential
Who are some guys who didn’t really hit their stride until after high school? A couple that come to mind include Sam Osho of Avon and Jack Servies of Perry Meridian, both were teammates at Marian.
Osho was only a semi-state qualifier in high school, but in college he managed to become a five-time national qualifier and All-American in 2022, placing third at 184 lbs. and ahead of former D1 wrestler, two-time state champion, and Super 32 champion Blake Rypel.
Servies only qualified for state once as a junior in 2017, but later became a two-time All-American, placing sixth twice and racking up wins over numerous state champions including Blake Rypel in a decision.
Who are some other names that realized their true potential after high school?

No One Famous reacted to aoberlin in Can someone stir the pot?
I heard depending how far north and how rural your school is will determine when you can buy your tickets and how many you can purchase. Good luck my friend.

Avon crowd erupts as it appears Luke Rioux just secured his 100th high school victory. If that the case, congrats young man

No One Famous reacted to Cricket21 in Avon / Brownsburg
As an MD fan, I don't believe we would fare too well against BB, similar to Avon (points-wise). I feel the Avon / MD dual will be very competitive, as both lineups are similar in strength. Toss up matches will be the heavier weights for sure.
