  1. Cosby at 119? He was losing by 14 before getting pinned by Wright. Not to mention, Eppert will be there too. Cosby may not get third!
  2. 103 - Todd 112 - Nelson 119 - Wright 125 - Quiroga 130 - Franklin 135 - Corsaro 140 - Mcginley 145 - McGinley 152 - Sullivan 160 - Todd 171 - Moats 189 - Vondersaar 215 - Warner 285 - Cuevas
  3. This is the second year in a row that Warner could have wrestled 189 for the State tourney, but he is wrestling 215. This seems like a large jump and, more importnatly, a difficult feat to be successful. I remember Nate Moore from Perry Meridian going up to 215 to beat O'Brien from Franklin Central, but Moore was a complete beast. Does anyone know why Warner has chosen 215 again? I wish him all the luck, but I think he would have a lot of success at 189.
  4. Sandefur lost today in OT. This goes to show how hard it is to beat an opponent, a QUALITY opponent, several times in the same season. Any other rematches go the other way today?
  5. Tonight, it is the start of sectionals. Sunday, it will be regionals...and so on. This is definitely the greatest 4 weeks of the year.
  6. Where is the rowdiest place in Indy to see the fight? I've been to the Fox and Hound, but I am looking for other sights.
  7. Berryman is ranked at 135. He may have a strength advantage on Quiroga...which most kids don't have. I hope he scrambles well because Quiroga should be quicker. He probably isn't going to 125 to face Quiroga, but to give himself the best chance. He will habe wrestled him twice before state (maybe) and we have seen guys struggle with former opponents. ( I recall Journey from PM losing at state to a familiar wrestler that he had beaten ALL season).
  8. Good luck to Jarrid Logan from HH. He has probably lost 10 times the past 3 years and hasn't made it out of the Regional beacause of Eppert, Wright, and Nelson. Can someone tell me whet grade this young man is in?
  9. If you want to compare him to Howe, remember, he faced Reece Humphries his freshman year and lost. Quiroga may get him this year because of maturity and experience alone. They are definitely equally skilled.
  10. Great post Josh! These kids are in a great program.
  11. It will be interesting to see the overall stats, but after the first 10 sectionals were posted, there is only 4 more wrestlers at 285 than 103. IMO, that does not justify getting rid 103, or creating another weight class between 215 and 285.
  12. If, according to Wikiipedia, the Region consists of five counties, then Indy could include Marion, Johnson, Hamilton, Hendricks, and Hancock county. That might make the competition more competitve for Indy.
  13. How about "The One and Only" starring The Fonz? Oh sorry...this was a serious thread! I apologize.
  14. That would make sense since Dr. White moved from Wash Twp to IPS. I believe this policy is his doing. I bet some teams would be devasted by this policy.
  15. Washington Township in Indy (North Central High School) requires a 2.0 GPA to participate in athletics. You could have all C's and one C- and be ineligible. Any other districts/schools that strict?
  16. Anyone who has wrestled, or been part of a program will agree that wrestling teaches kids so much more than just wrestling. I weighed around 90 lbs as a freshman and wrestled 98lbs as a sophomore, and wrestling taught me so much about work ethic and overcoming obstacles. Wrestling is the only sport that kids of all sizes can compete. The little guys often times are better skilled than the heavyweights, and more fun to watch. IMO we should keep the weight classes.
  17. Conference Indiana only has Perry and Bloom South and the MIC (the Big MIC) is tops in probably every OTHER sport, but the DAC is very strong with the SIAC probably second.
  18. There is something to be said about "being there before," and I think Harper will put it all together, again, and win it. I would guess Porras would have the best chance against since he wrestles him more often...but that goes both ways. With all the competition at 130, it will be a great tourney!
  19. The Artesian from Martinsville!!!
  20. 103-Parham 112-Nelson 119-Milton 125-Quiroga 130-Odom 135-Mascaro 140-??? 145-Goodwin 152-Wilson (May be a stretch) 160-??? 171-Mappes 189-JJ 215-Berry 285-Cuevas It seems like there are several weights (112,125,130,135,189) where the talent level is not very deep. 171 will be the most anticipated match up because both of the these kids should be on the podium at state.
  21. Good luck at the conference tourney!! I believe they are that much more prepared because of the last week of wrestling.
