  3. My son will be going to Hump 's Camp next week at Indy and is looking to for additonal riders to cut cost. We live in Scottsburg IN and he will be going straight up I 65 can pick up and drop off at any exit going up and back. He 's also planning on going up weekly for session's in August if anyone is interested in carpooling then also. My # is 812-595-4104 (Kevin Cole). Son's # is 812-595-5831 (Caleb Cole).
  4. I am not a coach, teacher, math stat. freak or anything else, other then just a proud father of 4.0 gpa student that is a pretty decent wrestler, but after 2 years of class this and small school that on this forum my idea is fairly simple .Instead of class or classes offer a 8 man team division for schools that just cannot find and support a full 14 team roster. Weight classes of say ( 110 161 123 175 135 190 148 250 Teams declare every 5 years what division they are in and set up schedules and tourneys based on this. Smaller schools might not have to recurit the 98# band geek and the 280# farm boy just so they don't forfeit 6 matches every meet. New schools starting a program can stair step up to the 14 team division and other programs that just don't want to compete with the 2000+students schools have their choice also. Thanks for reading. Started as a pup, have run with the Big Dawgs, was meaner then a Junkyard Dawg at times now starting to feel my years and just like to be left alone like a PORCH DAWG good running to all. Kevin A. Cole
  5. My Understanding is a Wrestler is to have 6 certified Weigh ins. Only one at the scratch weight for the weight class to wrestle at Sectionals, but that 2 day meets only count as 1 weigh in. I am sure if I'm wrong it will be clarifed.
  6. I also have been thinking about this with the mutiple snow/ice storms Indiana has gotten this year. Questions. If one school doesn't allow bus trans. the morning off, can a parent take a wrestler to the Sectionals and enter him without a coach being there? Who has responsibility/authority to cancel or postpone a sectional? If 5 schools make it and 3 don't who makes the call?
  7. SIWC AT Southwestern Jefferson County Hanover, IN not for sure of all the teams Scottsburg, Southwestern, Mitchell, Charlestown, Milan, Providence, Paoli, Forest Park, Christian Academy, Oldenburg Academy, New Washington. I think there's a couple more but I can't remeber them.
  8. Does anyone know the top 4 seeds for each weight from the meeting today?
  9. Correct Jeff and Columbus North are no longer involved. We are currently at 10 teams Jennings County, Edgewood, Washington, Mitchell, Southwestern, Greencastle, Bishop Chatard, Danville, Ft. Wayne Concordia, and Scottsburg ( I believe) , And the AD said he had been contacted Late Friday about a possible another additon due to a cancellation for snow/ice yesterday.
  10. 11-20 Batesville 6 way, Batesville, Shelbyville, Scottsburg, Brown County, Knightowns, and Southwestern. Normally a real nice opening weekend tourny some quailty wrestling maybe not to many big names but a nice way to start the season.
  11. Coach K. Good Article in Madison Courier.com Also one ugly picture of a Referee getting Honored Congratulations to MR Black.
  12. Laying on the Porch with to much time on my hands and I haven't seen this thread in a while but with all the conference Brackets posted and a few of the tournamats I've seen this winter I'm begining to see/think that perhaps the IHSAA and Coaches assoc. need to visit this disscussion again. If I can take a 90# flute player and win 15 matches out of 35 : perhaps we need to start the classes a little heavier . Nothing againest the little guys some of the 103's and 112's I have seen are awfully darn good but if a third of their matches are forfeits maybe some minor adjustments are needed. I 'll just throw my thoughts out there before my before lunch nap. 110-116-122-128-134-140-147-154-163-173-185-205-235-300. GOOD LUCK TO ALL WRESTLERS THIS WEEKEND AND MOST OF ALL THANK THE GOOD LORD FOR OUR ABILITIES TALENT AND SAFETY . THE PORCH DAWG
