  1. Guy is a legend! Hands like a Mac truck
  2. I'm pretty sure the most disgusting thing in wrestling is watching our wrestlers go into the disgusting bathrooms and then walk out and step on the mat and wrestle someone.
  3. Where are our big schools? Love to see what sla few more of them are doing.
  4. Top game is pretty tough, and I believe that’s a huge part of it. And it’s part of their toughness. Unfortunately both have broken their arms doing it. My 126’s dad was a national champion bull rider and did it professionally!
  5. I was doing some off-season planning today and was realizing how many different directions my athletes go. I’d be interested in hearing other schools and their activities: Edgewood: 106- Soccer, wrestling, track 113- FF 120- FF 126- Wrestling, rodeo 132- wrestling, rodeo, baseball 138- (2 guys here) wrestling only. Other wrestling and lacrosse 145- football, wrestling, track 152- football, wrestling 160- football, wrestling, stock car 170- football, wrestling 182- football, wrestling, track thrower 195- football, wrestling, stock car 220- football, wrestling 285- football, wrestling, track thrower
  6. I remember a Portage Lawrence North match I think. Mid 2000’s. Feels like maybe 145. Portage was down maybe 4 or 5 with less than 10 seconds to go. Lat drop to send it to OT. Names escape me now. Maybe Biddle?
  7. Not quite in the "best to never make it to state" category, but Austin Heckman of Edgewood was a 4x semi-state qualifier and 3x ticket rounder. His losses at semi-state were: Joe Lee Brayton Lee Nathan Conley Jake Schoenegge He asked me for film on Brayton Lee his sophomore year I said "just check flowrestling. It's all over the place."
  8. 2014 State Finals That particular match is at the 2 hour 30 minute mark. It's worth the watch!
  9. Ed is a great man. The world lost a great one today. Prayers to his family and all those close to him.
  10. Was this Nick Hobbs of Beech Grove on Friday night?
  11. Damien Chambers of Edgewood won state in 2014 in one of the most exciting (very biased I understand) finals matches I have watched beating Blake Rypel in OT... on the 3rd caution
  12. Looking at these names at new schools like tracking NBA free agents.
  13. This is why Edgewood intends on qualifying their entire team for day 2; to ensure we have a giant section of fans for our team.
  14. Today was an awesome day of wrestling at the Team State Duals. I was at the 3A tournament and was checking results all day from the other 2 locations. The team aspect of a good dual is one of the best parts of wrestling. Watching wrestlers sacrifice to cut a few extra pounds or willing to bump up a weight class to sacrifice for their team to try and get the win is really selfless. Watching teammates erupt from a pin and also watching teammates congratulate their teammate for getting beat by 13 and saving 2 team points is fun to watch. In a year where we were told to stay away from each other, it was refreshing to see teammates jumping up and down in celebration. It made the stresses of 2020 seem distant. This year took more work than ever. Coordinating with multiple locations, teams droppings out from quarantine, getting weigh-ins coordinated for 40 teams was really a struggle. It was a relief to finally have the day here. I think JD Minch and Pat Culp deserve some huge recognition for so much time working on this. Dane Fuelling seeding 40 teams is incredible. You honestly are an Indiana wrestling genius. Chuck Barnett sent me 6 revisions on officials assignments and was available always to help with any changes. Franklin and Brownsburg stepped up to host their class, and I know that added work to their load. But those schools made this happen too. There was help from several people at each location that deserve recognition, and I won’t even try to say them all. But a great day of wrestling all over the state was possible because a lot of people worked hard. I’ll tell them all thanks personally, although we all may need a 24 hour break from each other. I got to catch some of the Facebook live from Joe and Mike too, and that was a great add for those at home.
  15. It is my understanding they will be both live and archived.
  16. Back in the spring, there was a vote taken for the final two spots, plus a "next team in" scenario.
  17. The Health Department isn’t worried about how many people are in the county. They are worried about how many people are in one specific area ( like a gym) at a time. our gym has capacity of 200 right now. We can get more in our 2nd gym. It’s not a fool proof plan. There are issues with coaches and bussing for sure. But we may have to be creative this season. If half the wrestlers are in the building and half at another building, that would appease the Health Department. This may not be in the best interest of the tournament, I’m just throwing ideas out there.
  18. I mean same date. You take 106-145. Penn takes 152-285
