  1. I see talks of mooresville and other legendary xmas tournaments so in figured I would get the ball rolling on this specific tournament.. what are some possible match ups we could see?

@182 there are a lot of big possible matches with #14@170(but is going 182 ) T carson,#12 Farrel,#10 Bacon, #6 winner, NC ss #7 calderon, and possibly #3 NC ss @82 and state #6@170 mahan and possibly Ec ss #6 @182 and state ranked 9@195 Potasky...and Fw Ss #7 hetzner rounding out the field.

I know Carson has wins against farrel, bacon, calderon, mahan and potosky  the last time Trizton wrestled all these studs but this is a new  year and things can change over time.. he's never wrestled winner but i'm looking forward to seeing it.. what's some of your favorite possible match ups?

I like our chances but you are correct it will be a close one. They may have the only guy taller and leaner than Brooks.

Sidenote how about Mahan going 170??

Parkinson beat Carson at ihpo(albeit first matches after surgery) and just beat ihpo champion Blubaugh.. kid is a stud..as for mahan you can't ever count him out cuz he shocked the state last year and beat lowe who had previously beat him multiple times.

Me and this guy were extremely tight at at one point. He was a complete savage on the mat. Would of been a D1 American for sure but got into some trouble. Went back to college a few years later and became a DII runner up. He suffers from CTE which is a degenerative mental disorder brought on my 2 many concussions. Basically he is dying. He is homeless and a very sad case at this point. What I can still guarentee is that if any quasi mma guys or keyboard warriors wanted to square up with him it would be an extremely bad day. He is dangerous.

He's not the only dangerous 1.. except I don't pick on animals.. I've got plenty problems myself but never would turn coward like this.. I've tangled with a lot more savage guys than him..my heart don't pump koolaid bud...so dangerous that he's 0-3 vs geese.. only persons fight record worse is chris browns.. defend a psycho if you want but he isn't scaring nobody especially 1 that would rip his limbs off if he tried some funny stuff vs a real man not some poor bird..we wil see how dangerous he is when he's in prison with other ppl that aren't right.

I love @JMILL.....did anybody else read this with Bruce Springsteen's Glory Days playing in their head??

To stay on topic, I too was wondering how a top 5 program could have two forfeits in such an important dual? Not enough #YungGunZ for a full lineup yet?

I'll take take the Boss anyday😂

I got a little nervous for him when he was hitting that tilt after the semi-finals last year! 😮

He is a stud and 1 my favorite wrestlers to watch and that's coming from a guy that's wrestler has been beat by him multiple times.. great young man and his dad has been A1 from Day1 of meeting him and is a awesome ! Imho he more that likely the best 182 pounder in the state as well the country... if trizton Carson ends up going182 that EV SS has 4 of the top 182s in the state with Carson, brewer, willham and Bellamy...I also think that if all goes well those 4 could be medalist if they don't get death draws amongst one another. At SS..I just wish I lived closer to trizton do I could train him way more because the county competition is superb and the coaching staffs at avon and BB are great...

Now to your tilt comment yes those get scary at times as you know lol but that young man is a dog on a bone with that wrist and hip control...I have never helped brewer but he reminds me (he's 10x better wrestler over all than I ever ws)  of myself on top when he chooses to not cut ppl... That ended up being my best facet of wrestling and I believe is 1 of the most under developed parts of a lot of kids  game..Grip strength paired with steady wrist control and shadowing the hips=bad news for a unprepared foe..I never was no state champ  but my biggest honor ever in wrestling was Coach peckinpaugh naming  a particular tilt after myself...It took me a while to get use to  coach yelling my name with authority hearing decibel level records"JOHNNY JOHNNY JOHNNY" across the Fieldhouse at his wrestlers during battle and me not end  having nightmare flashbacks of him yelling it at me for doing something dumb to cost me a match 🤣 you yourself know he's a monster Lol He was yelling at Us  vs you and your boys @03 Team SS Championship dual 😂 but lord I love that man with all my heart and know everybody on this board has a special love for certain ppl in the wrestling community that's why this board is so special! Long live INDIANA Mat and the sport of wrestling!

    Matt,

I want what is best for your boys. It has nothing to do with what is in our best interest.  I think Carson should take the rest of the year off.  Just let him rest up for college:). Your younger one I’ve heard would be a stud basketball player or swimmer in the winter.  Think about it!  😂

Great and fun dual.  Competitive and heated, but all love for our brothers down the road.  They will be a nightmare to deal with all year.  It would help us a lot Matt if you consider my suggestion!

    Snyder

I 2nd that Carson should rest up. Especially if my guy ends up at 82..

170 is hard for a kid to make 4 straight years so we shall see...

You don't need resources such as exclusive workout facilities, dieticians, or multiple athletic trainers to properly cut weight. They certainly help and it makes things much more accesible and easier to do though. If you do it correctly it should be considered watching your weight. I was a multiple time state placer and wrestled at Indiana University. When transitioning I did not change many of my habits other than working out right before weighing in. Most elite high schools implement this, and unfortunately I was not a part of an elite high school program.

At the end of the day your diet and the frequency in which you work out go hand-in-hand when you are properly cutting weight. People think that working out more will fatigue you, but if you are doing it properly, it does not fatigue you. I also found that when crash-cutting I would cramp a lot easier, my muscles were tight from dehydration, and in general I was just sore from malnutrition. I also felt better when I was working out multiple times a day and still eating the day of weigh ins. For example, after practice I would go to another practice, or simply just go to a gym and run/sauna. I did this on Sunday's, Monday's, Wednesday's, and Thursday's.

Also based on my experiences with cutting weight in high school, I suggest anyone cutting more than 10 pounds moves up a weight. When you begin focusing on how much weight you need to lose in a practice rather than what you need to do to get better, it effects your growth and development. You also see kids burn out faster as well.

    Well said!

I have no problem paying to watch wrestling, I love having a flo pro account. The problem with tracks versions is pay per event. That $15 for one event gets me 30 events for flo in a month. And track doesn’t have enough extra content for me to want to be a gold member. Plus their streaming isn’t that great

Wish there was flo streaming with Tracks interface and search features hybrid lol

Events on TV aren't free though...you have to pay for TV subscriptions past the "country 5." That is something people fail to comprehend when something is on ESPN or Big 10 network or whatever.

And with cable losing subscribers streaming sites are becoming mor common..espn plus just paid bookoo money to stream UFC cards through that specific platform and test the waters in that Avenue..  like DAZN also are getting major sporting events like Canelo Alvarez cards and Bellator big tent events...Espn/ Disney lost over 3 million viewers iirc last year

Yeah not the best thing from my end.

Sorry bro..I had no dog in the fight just appreciated 2 high level young men putting on a show! Like I've stated before I help coach B Campbell and his 2 state title matches were gutting to say the least.

it is on track, last year it was live streamed on youtube, but I am not sure if they are doing that again....?

That youtube stream was awesome.. the hunter watts comeback in the finals vs Triana was 1 the best things I've ever witnessed in wrestling.. unreal..if you haven't seen this their match starts at 4 hours and 57 minutes into video.

no side effect, should be worried about effects at about 3 days of not eating

It does affect your motor skills before 3 days without though.... also your gastrointestinal track is lined with millions of nerve cells and it produces most of your serotonin... and therefore serotonin effects our moods and an empty belly means angry wrestler lol

It’s wasn’t about the food for me.  It’s was the Liquid.  Descent breakfast on Friday, small lunch (fruit), then if I could sip a gatoraid Friday evening and not have to run 5mi Saturday was great.  Gradually cut back each day and make sure he can drink on Friday evening.

Yes proper fluid management was my main focus.. getting a good 4-6 oz before bed so I could sleep a better and hope I float a good pound or 2 in my sleep... therefore like you said I don't have to wake up and run lol

Not eating a thing. Dont you run out of glycogen? Low sugar..ect? Point being my son looked like  crap* middle of the 1st and on . Could barely finish his hi c. Looked REALLY. Weak.

Yea bro I'm not a fan of not eating nothing... there's no good that comes out of malnourishment.. and honestly takes all the fun out of the sport  and is a dangerous facet if not properly performed.. my advice is to eat leaner and keep the junk away...I wrestled and fought professionally and the weight cutting is something I don't miss.. but there's proper and safe ways to be healthy and getting down to weight... self discipline(not questioning your son's)  coupled with proper exercise and eating regimen is key... meal prepping and proper liquid consumption make life a lot easier come weigh in.. just remember you get out of your body what you put into it.. good luck on the season!
