Want to commend John Rushenberg from Bishop Chatard at 160. Lost a tight ticket round match 14-12 to Russell from Warren Central, who was called for a slam with 30 seconds left. Rushenberg appeared pretty dazed, but as a senior, wanted to finish the match and win on his terms. It seemed like WC’s fans and a few coaches thought Chatard would take the default, which was never going to be the case.

If memory serves, two years ago Warren Central’s David Pierson was slammed by New Castle’s Brevan Thrine, and Pierson took the injury default to advance. He then proceeded to win in the semis and finals while taunting New Castle’s crowd, then placed at the state tournament.

You win with class. You lose with class. You don’t take shortcuts. There are much bigger things in life than a ticket round victory, and Rushenberg showed he’s destined to do great things off the mat.

Your memory is spot on, already having some drama today with NC and WC after  Whitehead beat Aberry in semis.

When LEGEND  IRON BEAR MYERS is your mentor, nothing is impossible!!! TEAM WOLFPACK4L!!!

You are responsible for so many young savages Success,

Including Jaggers, bass, Myself and counselees since, and being great men is the greatest lesson we learned from you!

  3. My lil guy Carver was on 🔥🔥🔥 pinning all 5 his opponents on way to the finals in a under a combined 8 minutes and beat a Savage, Land in finals 6-2! Top 4 at Fargo then this run here will put him in the p4p top.25 rankings next season!!!

Only thing I think he needs to work on is, getting a few Significant wins on track, 136 for the year isn't going to cut it 😂

Absolute Stud Freshman who is very dangerous in all positions. So many good freshman from 106 to 170 making real noise this season. 5 Freshman still undefeated with Ty, Huyvaert, Horn, Richards, and Baylor.

Going to get even more loaded once your main child shows up to the scene looking real mean hitting blast doubles turning a hulk shade color of green 😂

  5. Considering with how New Castles luck started off at regionals with Maidens DQ, I am pleased to say that when with losing their leader Maiden, The Trojans had 4 champs at

126 Ty Thrine,138 Whitehead,145 Big Thrine and 170 Jonboy Eberhart! Then we had a our freshman 182 Nate Schafer pull the upset and punched his ticket to SS with a 4th Place finish, along with 195, 3rd place finisher Luke JopTop Joplin with another workmanlike finish! Being a Sr.Captain leader going 18-4 on the season and punching his ticket to the NCSS!

4 CHAMPS,3rd and 4th and 6 Total SSQ is the best we have had in a few years and I'm so proud!

And it  should have been possibly 5 champs 7 total SSQ but I have to get over it, and support Maidens job in supporting his team mates that he'll be helping prepare for next weekend!

NC winning sectonals and turning around and placing 2nd to EAST CENTRAL. With 134 being the Magic number that won it for the EC with NC having a respectable 108.5 in their best Regional finish in 7 years with a solid  runner up effort! Had Maiden accumulated his Max 24 team points that Team race would've came down to the last half point lol

  6. @126 NCs freshman

Ty"The Hammer Valen" Thrine not only moved to 34-0 pinning his way through the Regional in hardly 5 minutes combined beatingNcSS Ranked/state ranked for most the season , and a very talented stud Jesus Aquino who was 38-4,  pinning him for 2nd time this season in the semis up big.

Ty Goes out and pins 16U ISWA triple crown winner, 2x IHSAA State finalist and Reigning 126 State semi finalist taking 4th last year, in Blake wolf for the 2nd time this season as well!!

The EC SENIOR, Wolf is a sparkling 144-12 all time in HS, and has beaten some of the very best in the state over his career, so Ty pinning him in the 1st period is def a huge feather in his Cap!

To top it off Tylin has 33 pins and only #7@the time State finalist Sr. Griffin Ingles has made it to the final whistle with Thrine this season, still getting the major Dec at 15-7!

Also want to give a huge shout-out to the most humble hard-working gentleman in my life, TYs big bro

AK40-Brevan Who picked up his 3rd regional title beating The always tough EC Lengerich NcSS/8 who upset 33-3 Phillips in the semis! Until then Phillips 3 losses were all to Brev!

Brevs really honed in on his past weaknesses and really turned the corner on his offense and overall and most importantly he's having FUN! after his early season loss to Todd, he's reeled off 30 straight wins and being dominant doing so!

love these boys and am so proud of the Trojans and coaches

I just hate it for my kid that has busted his butt, to lose his senior season this way. The return was hard but at the end of the day, it wasn’t malicious or intentional. I feel horrible for him.

I know it was not only are crappy way to end a high school. But two years in a row, he was unjustly robbed of what he worked 4!

Him, lyric and his their pops came to the pal club and got lil technique session few weekends back with me,  besides being raised/coached by his great family and yall coaches, and a all state academic student with a unreal 4.0+ gpa, the young man's humble and mature as he could be!

I'll tell yall right this second that the stud is made of granite! Just showing him and drilling with him moves off the whistle from top , without hi, resisting he felt like a grown ass man and half lol dude is deceptively massive and just a Unit of a man child!

with most HSs being  lil softer and visibiy"bigger" when in reality he's a 6'2 @240+ with less body fat than most well put together 95 and 220 pounders!  With his rare combination of size, strength, footwork, physicality, natural IQ to go with his elite big man speed and agility,he's Def my pick at HW!!  And regardless I'll have him 1 badass HL mixtapes for his graduation present!

    What happen with maiden from

    new castle?

Was DQd on a highly questionable "slam" call, I don't want to point fingers or make excuses but it just sucks as a senior putting together sparkling campaign of 35-1

Only losing  to #3 savage Jeb Pretchel..

Wyatt had worked his tail off, all summer wanted to make a big run this season, especially with how crappy his season came to an end last year with him losing by a stalling point that was awarded with less than 10 seconds left in the match.. Mind you this was not even a handfulof seconds after he had taken a shot was hit with less than 8 seconds in a match with a second stalling to lose by one and the ticket round.

but at the same time he had already called once for stalling early in the match, so it was definitely a preventable, but just happens to too good of a kid not that any kid should deserve to lose like this but.

Wyatt tournament ended very reminiscent like a few years ago with his teammate was DQd in the ticket round, at least my guy then had a couple more years to make a run, made it to the state finals the next year, and you still have the rest of this season.

I just hope that a young man who was unable to continue in this instance doesn't conduct himself like the fellas I was referring to from a few years ago..

Who was so injured that he couldn't continue but as soon as he walked off the mat was winking and sticking his tongue out. Then went on to win the semi state and made it a point to come to our section and talk everybody smiling, taunting our fan section, rubbing up and down in singlet yelling some things that I want to repeat along the lines of haha big deal with some other profanities..

I don't care if you're the wrestling god son that just won the world titles, the only thing worse than a sore loser is a crappy winner.

No doubt this is Must See TV!

    For Indiana wrestling fans anyway.

RBY came out on fire, Jesse was uncharacteristically Conservative and didn't get into any of his usual attacks, this was the most aggressive I've seen RBY vs a stud like Mendez in quite a long time.. Jesse will make adjustments and improvements like champions do, not excuses!

  11. #12 Braxton Amos., who was FS jr World Gold medalist and a Jr Greco World Bronze medalist, having one of the most impressive HS careers ever in America... not only was he a double world medalist he also was

142-0, WITHOUT GIVING UP A SINGLE OFFENSIVE POINT EVER!

Big wins this week for Silas beating up on Andrew Davison and visibly broke Amos with a 7-2 win, with over 3 minutes riding time, take down and a sweet Granby kip sequence to reverse Amos, after a early slick throw for Amos, it was 1 way traffic For The good guy!!

His pops @Perseverance up there in heaven smiling.

The stalling call was a poor call IMO, but definitely not an uncommon one. And yes, Jesse had definitely been the more agressive wrestler.

Folkstyle wrestling is not Freestyle. You don't get a point for pushing your opponent off the mat. It is actually supposed to be stalling on the wrestler doing the pushing if they are not actually working for a TD. Yet you see so many wrestlers who simply attempt to push their opponent off the mat while never taking any type of shot. You see this constantly from Iowa wrestlers with their coaches & fans screaming for stalling.

If officials would actually start calling stalling on wrestlers who are doing this rather than rewarding them for it, you would see a lot less of it. But more importantly, it would stop coaches from teaching it. It is not unsimilar to how you use to see wrestlers who would always want to wrestle at the edge of the mat & simply flee out of bounds when they got into trouble. The emphasis on calling stalling for fleeing the mat coupled with the new out of bounds rules in college (which aren't very new anymore) has pretty much eliminated this technique. But more importantly it got coaches to stop teaching it.

Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack this thread about Jesse. And it was not like this was happening in this match. Jesse was being agressive and taking territory, but he was looking & working for shot opportunities. And Ragusin was not simply backing off the mat, he was circling back in or at least attempting to. Then in an instant, the tables were turned & Jesse had his back to the edge & Ragusin pushed him out. IMO, the official should have signaled continuous action. Ragusin didn't push Jesse from the center all the way off the mat & Jesse was defintely not fleeing the mat in an attempt to avoid a TD.

Agree with every bit of this post, and Coaches teaching it are going to get their wrestlers thrown trying to cave man their way into developing a bad habits! Especially doing so on the edge of the mat.

Very true, but the selfish fan in me wants to see him scrap with Davison, Parris, Kerk, and Cass😂

Me too buddy! But on the bright side at least we will get 4 years of Pitz vs Nick Feldman, Carroll, Mullen all will be in the mix in next few years
