  1. Between Delta and SouthSide Delaware county has a Pretty sick All decade team.
  2. Coughlin #1@160 178-4 vs #1@152 168-4 morningstar 2005 Senior nationals@152 finals is in YouTube I believe and a great match, they spoke on the different rankings that had them ranked at different weights. Morningstar was a 3x Iowa State champ that went on to help Iowa win 3 national titles and was a 2x all American germs 3rd then having a torn knee still placing 7th his senior year, winning 110 matches in his tenure with the Hawkeye along side Alex T. Coughlin beat him 3-1 in double OT to win the national title and also was a AA for IU later on.
  3. Oh I don't blame you, I wouldn't want to pick against him either, stud is a all time great, both are.
  4. Great duals... coughlin vs Lecount would be unreal, macke vs James would be match up 2 the best to never win a title also.. Coughlin held a freestyle win over Alex tshirts in HS also and was a 4x FINALIST 2nd,2nd,1st,1st Vs 3x FINALIST 2nd,1st,1st 7 finals appearances and 4 titles between them.. I'd have to say it's a toss up with them both beating each other on any given day

Q 112 Brian Williams 37-10 jr. 6th 119 Joe Hillenbrand jr. 125 Craig Macke 43-2 3rd (lost to Angel 5-2 team state) 130 Matt Coughlin so. 41-1 2nd 135 Aaron Scott sr. 33-8 3rd 140 Joe Lehman so. 145 Craig Weinzapfel sr. 41-0 1st 152 Dustin Nosko sr. 23-2 1st 160 Sam Wildeman sr. 37-1 1st 171 Blake Maurer jr. 43-1 1st 189 Jason Coughlin jr. 215 Thomas Unfried sr. 36-5 Q 285 Chaz Swchartz jr. this gonna be a barn burner..
  6. Wagner vs Cain found all kinds of his footage on YouTube https://youtu.be/eqAlM4Lys6E
  7. I still remember him dog walking future UFC all time great HW champ Cain V. 9-0 iirc
  8. Was a monster for sure, and a stud footballer that went on to have a solid NFL career as well!!
  9. The big Men from NC Motl, Pickle and Josh Martin always talked about him being the best big dude they ever seen, not win it.
  10. Jake couldn't even handle 189 Mohr, Carroll p4p best in the country, gives The best HW From 2021 Feldman, all he wanted in 1 best HS big Men matches I've seen since Pretty Ricky vs Ricky Samuels
  11. My dad's best friend and who I call uncle Pee Wee aka Roger Hirst was part those loaded 80s teams 84-87,as he graduated in 87.. He himself was a State qualifier at 98 pounds.. And was hardly 90 pounds his senior year and to this day might weigh 100 pounds soak and wet, but has a vice grip like most would not believe. It is always awesome when he, dad and I sip a few cold 1 and UNC lets me pick his brain and talks about those Delta teams! There was 7 guys that were SQ/Placers in the class of 87 which is unreal in it's own right. was on the teams that had 6 state champs during his 4 years there with Riggin, Locke, Tuttle, ginther, McCormick, Campbell. He was part of the bk2bk Team State champ teams 84 & 85 that both went 8-0. Then his Jr year they got runner up going 14-2, and lost the semi state and finished 14-2. He really cherished those times and loved that I was wanting to know all I could about those squads and told my dad that I had more sense than he did off of wrestling history alone lol.. In uncle Peewee's 4 years they had 25 State qualifiers, 19 placers, 16 of those 19 were state Semi finalists aka top 4 placers ,8 finals appearances under the lights in the finals going for 7 individual state with Ginter being a 2xer and the Eagles holding a superb 7-1 record in the state title match during those 4 seasons.. Those 80s teams def need some consideration.
  12. You've started off your Delta coaching career pretty darn awesome yourself! I've got a handful of guys I consider my brothers that have their kids there and help as well and they all speak nothing but praise of what you're doing with the program and the overall culture building! And really love that the kids have taken to you and how you elevated the competitive mindset all while really focusing on developing great young people. Keep it up, between the Jaggers, Allisons, Carver,Mosiers Martin's man child Canelo (I think he'll take more to wrestling the older he gets) as well at the many other) and many other wrestling tradition families, y'all are in good hands! Also Aiden flowers and his father who are also like family to me, really look up to you and respect the heck out of you Coach!! it's soo crazy thinking after I graduated HS I was contacted by Troy about helping him coach his stud elementary squar that you and Chandler Carol among many other studs who were a part of and we would hold practices in the New Castle High School room. y'all had to be only 8 to 10 at the time have really going to wonderful young men! I'm Getting old lol
  13. Goebel win% is untouchable and had chose a more dual orientated schedule he Would have had even more or a unreal record but I like the fact he had his teams in tougher individual tourneys to prepare them for the state tournament, My sophomore year, which was the last time a Newcastle team place in the state finals with us getting fit at dual team state we're on the other side of a Goebel lead Dismantling lol We still to this day have the record for the most lopsided loss in the state finals losing 66-3 with only Terrell Coatie winning beating the state runner up Conkling.. our team had 6 State qualifiers/placers and overall 11 guys that were or would be SSQ/ ticket rounders.. only time I see Matt Jagger's pen he was beating Coughlin, and I'll never forget the night before Uncle Bobby Jaggers telling Matt that no matter how the match was going that if you wouldn't care for you would get bulldog or chin whipped by coughlin so don't get too confident or cocky regardless the score.. sure enough in the third period Matt was controlling the match, and got into a front head situation, coughlin trucked him over similar to Tommy cash versus Joe Lee and stuck Matt.. our 160 fifth placer and eventual D3 AA, stud Keith Garrard would get Maj by at the time a relatively unknown stud That went on to win state wildeman, my dad told me that if I got a takedown on now where he would give me $250, I think I ended up owing him 30 grand after I was teched lol those early 2000 EMD teams were the best teams I've ever seen up until the CP team last year.. when you're a State qualifier and you're not even in the top 10 best on your team, that speaks to how loaded they were.
  14. You're doing wonderful things young man and I am proud to call you a friend. I remember whenever you were the assistant Ben Davis and didn't get the job we had a talk and I told you that things happen for a reason that no matter where you end up they will be blessed to have you. And to see how far you've brought that program and all of the fantastic young lies you've touched speaks volumes to your character and love of the sport. You're not only making Champions on the map but are developing wonderful young adults into great people. You have to be up there as one of the quickest to get to the 50 win mark i'd say.. I don't think Pecks number will ever be eclipsed, I remember when I pinned my opponent from rushville my sophomore year it solidified the state record for him with that dual meet win.. He had 21 seasons he won at least 30 duals, And if I'm not mistaken the only coach in state history to win 40 duals in a season, doing it 3 consecutive seasons with .. winning 106 straight, having a 4 year run that probably won't ever be topped wins wise with 38-2,41-0,42-0 and 46-2 with a 4 season span of 167-4, 4 conference ,4 regional, 3 semi state,2 state runner up titles.. 24 state qualifiers and 14 placers over those 4 seasons.. And I know that elusive team state title wasn't ever achieved, but it cannot be denied how big a influence that he had on the state of Indiana and our wrestling program. 1000 dual meet wins is also a national record if I'm not mistaken!
  15. I appreciate the devotion and in depth thought process, I'm just blessed to have seen all these studs and know this is the most loaded bracket ever, among in state talent.
  16. This is the most loaded bracket ever.. I don't even know how you seed this
  17. Jr Year Streck vs Jr Bubba would've been fireworks, and I'm telling y'all, it wouldn't be like most think it would, bubba hit dump series and wrestled like a 160 also, so Streck and him would've both faced their most athletic tests up to then.. Bubba throws Streck like Samuels did, then we might see the purple hulk lose to the green hulk lol but in all seriousness, Streck could've beaten him too, just depends who's day it was, bubba was an enigma and from what my OGs tell me, I was only 10 when he passed away, he was unlike anything they'd ever seen.
  18. Bubba was only 17 and we didn't even get to see him healthy, or training like he should've.. It's unreal how good he was and knowing what I know, trying not to be a Debbie downer on a public forum.. Breaks my heart knowing that not only did he pass away in a terrible fashion, but all the wasted talent and hearts he broke in doing so, being a reminder how precious life is, especially when 1 mistake can be 1 that you never come back from... Bubba was his own worst enemy and that's the reason he's no longer with us as are most kids that e bone head mistakes. Def was tough on the wrestling family/town .. Only to lose another really member, leaving the family and town gutted 8 years later losing my other cousin to similar circumstances.. The bubba that pinned his way through state finals, a week after having a fever of 102, cutting to make the HW LIMIT and being a man child, it boggles my mind that he did the extraordinary things he did under The circumstances.. He was def loved and cared for by our big Wrestling family, and this isn't a pity party excuse post, this is to put into perspective how dominant he was, and was not living right. Wish I could find that 95 state finals, Peck has it some where, I'm going to go do some tree work for him within the next few weeks and will try and see if we can find it, amomg his world class Vhs/DVD wrestling collection.. Anybody that is familiar with Bub, regardless where they're from, will vouch he was a Treat to watch, and not like many other big men.
  19. I don't see Them going to both when they're back 2 back , I could be wrong
  20. If that's the case then New Castle will be dropping cuz they're in the Spartan Classic
  21. If we are talking all time then Pete Lee from Muncie Central has to be mentioned
