  1. Yeah looks like its basically on limited release around the US, so not to much help with box office numbers or word of mouth helping to create marketing publicity.
  2. Ooooohhhh! And I figured they just couldn't give up the orange and brown for something as basic as maroon and blue. Should be a solid year for all three of them.
  3. For those of you who were not aware Coach Jim Humphrey's recieved a lifetime service award from the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Here are several videoes related to this induction via flowrestling. http://www.flowrestling.org/videos/coverage/view_video/237553-national-wrestling-hall-of-fame-ohio-gohiocasts/355646-jim-humphrey-induction-speech
  4. Brierly's wins are more impressive knowing he came off of multiple injuries that set him back all of last year as well as part of a previous year. Glad to see he is back on track and hopefully injury free this season. Goldman doesn't to things the fancy way but he does make sure he is in position to capitalize on opponents mistakes and thats enough to get the win.

  6. Last I heard a few years back English was taking classes at a local community college and looking into MMA possibilities. But that was 3 or 4 years back so I'm sure things may have changed since then.

I'd agree fighting two Kinsers could be a handful. Much respect for Bailey for putting knowing when to put his personal safty before his fight record. He'll bounce back from his easily and continue to rise up the MMA sceen.

Wasn't able to go, but got the text results of the fight from a buddy. Bailey slammed Kinser to the mat followed by a scramble which almost resulted Kinser catching a ankle lock. Some how Kinser opened up a bad cut on Bailey (not sure on the ground or from back standing). Fight stopped due to a cut in the 1st and Kinser declared the winner. Not the way anyone wanted to see the fight end, but hopefully both guys will continue to shine in their future MMA fights.
  9. This isn't the perfect formula but from what I've seen in program throughout the state and and heard from coaches this has been the biggest factor in making it an easier road to sustain a quality program. Obviously a team may just fall into a special group of athletic guys who pick things up fast but that is a one or two season thing. But for long term sucess that last more than a season or two you are looking at factors like: 1. Dedicated, caring, and knowledgeable coaches who are willing to work at the youth level (elementary especially) and will be there more than just a season. Guide the program in the right direction from the start and not having the coaching turn around to deal with is a key factor in developing consistant groups of well trained wrestlers. 2. Finding ways to bring in numbers early so younger kids are atleast exposed to the sport and make sure its an enjoyable experiance so they will come back. The more numbers early the more depth you will have later on. 3. Having all levels of coaches on the same relitive page. If everyone knows what the overall result should look like when the kids are upperclassmen then its easier to see what the youth and middle school coaches need to work on to get them to that level. 4. Find way to develop a wrestling culture on the team and with your parents. Get kids want to learn about the history of the sport. So kids will talk about wrestling outside of the room, they will care more about it as a sport, and their buddies will here more about it too. Get kids to care about the team aspect of the sport. So kids will be more willing to help each other improve rather than look out for only themselves. Get parents to see how the sport will help their child in multiple ways. This will help parents encourage participation, be more willing to volunteer themselves, and be more willing to take kids to spring and summer events. The goal is to make the kids want to work on their own to improve and encourage others to do the same. Instead of the coach always being the voice they hear attempting to drag them along and make them work. Unfortunately, these are all things that will take time to reap the rewards at the high school level. In the mean time the HS and MS coaches need to figure out what can be done to keep the program getting team and individual recognition. Changing things in the practice room is one thigns but also things like getting positive press and better attendence buy young kids and the wrestlers peers at home meets. The enthusiasm need to be there even in low times so the youth coming up and their parents have something they want to still be a part of down the road. The other down side is a lot of areas do not have the extra coaches to start and keep running a program of that size. Seek out what help you can get. Train what help you can from the youth parents that seem interested. And more than anything develop a of pride in the sport and community with your high school wrestlers. So when they leave the sport they not only will say good things about wrestling but will be more willing it continue to grow in your area. Believe me I don't have all the answers because our program is just now starting to work on improving all of these items ourselves.

Won't be able to make it up to Indy to see the fight. Hopefully someone that will be present can give us some good play by play results of what happened. Even with Kinser adjusting for wrestling season it should be a good fight.
  11. Glad to hear he can get on with his fighting life now. Suck when some type of legal issues keeps a person out of the game like that.
  12. Nope. I've been busy and missed out on almost all the new Bellator events so far. Just looked it up and read he had a quick choke. Looks like two brothers or cousins (can't tell which) were fighting each other on the undercard.
  13. Well I noticed that he has pulled a few Submission tournament titles, so at least we can say he is above a novice at the ground game.
  14. Are you sure he's a BBJ guy. All I've read about him has been about Muay Thai disipline. Which he is a stud in from the info I've seen. If he's also a very tough BBJ guy that always a scary combiniation. Reguardless of his BBJ level that still a tough fight for Elkins.

I may try to make it up there for this one too. I know Kinser has some powerful ground and pound if he can neutralize Bailey on the mat. I really don't like to make predictions when it comes to two local guys I want to support. I'll just predict it will be a good fight with the winner deserving some serious respect.
  16. Well its a deep division. But here are the top 10 in no particular order: Notre Dame (the Zimmerman version) Lucky Charms (magically delicious) Hornswoggle (WWE fame) King Brian (Darby O'Gill and the Little People movie) Warwick Davis (Leprechaun movies) The Alabama Tree Leprechaun (Where da gold at!) Lucky the Celtic (Boston Mascot) Shado (World Largest Lebrechaun from Harvy Birdman on Adult Swim) Wee Man (dressing up from Jack*ss) South Park Leprechauns (from Imagination Land episode)

Great match for the LFC to get their hands on. The winner of this one will be on the bigger national organizations radar for future contracts (both have had had smaller scales fights with them in the past). All signs are pointing to Kinser looking to make a career in MMA after his last season at IU.
  18. I believe he has been doing this for a few years now. Maybe he's moved up to Leprechaun #1 status!
  19. Check your PM for info.
  20. Following getting dominated in a wrestling match twice this spring by our 2nd year JV wrestler (only 1 win each season) the 3 year varsity QB is suppose to keep up his part of the deal and come out for the team. Well see if that happens. ;D
  21. Not sure of the exact number of parochial and private school in IN with an extensive sports program, but it seems like it would mean a somewhat small tournament in most sports.
  22. Not exactly the in-depth journalistic questioning most of rest of the article had but it was by far the highlight of that interview.
  23. Some school/group used to put on a takedown tournament during the preseason. Wouldn't mind seeing that come back into existance. It seemed like a good concept.
  24. After this one I'm starting to think Penn has truely lost the motivation to train hard for fights. He's obviously uninspired by the challenger at his weight to push himself to be at top level for an entire match. A lackluster Penn is not worth watching so he may be due for a retirement as a fighter. I can see him disappearing to just hang out in Hilo training with guys at his gym. Maybe his next inspiration can come from building one of his fighter into a big name since he doesn't seem to want to do what it takes to be there anymore.
