  1. I hear Russia figured out the correct way to play
  2. I’d agree. From what I’ve listen to most announcers have came in well organized with information to help add to what we see on the mat. I’ve always liked having some additional knowledge added in rather than a second by second of play by play that already see from the watching the steam. And far less speaker blowing yelling wildly when a big move happens than we have had in prior events. Very much appreciate that these guys are figuring out how to express the matches excitement in a more ear pleasing and professional broadcasting manner.
  3. Some may still be trying to sort out where their tickets are. Joking. Well really half joking.
  4. They have had several matches in the first two rounds that were won by a solid margin. And most kids are going to tighten up some on the action against top level opponents in the semis with a state final bid on the line. So while their maybe some strategic decisions on when to open things up I’m not sure I’d say “they do nothing and win close matches”. And someone on their staff completely forgot to let Krejsa in on this team plan. That’s kids been on a mission almost the entire time on the mat.
  5. Thats choice of words is hilariously fitting coming from a prior Avoner considering the story of one of their former coaches.
  6. Figured I’d get it out early so people could start talking things up as they return from the late lunch break. And @JayinSTL I apologize up front this time for any disappointment you may have after waking up from your late afternoon nap and not seeing this thread full of ridiculous takes while you sipping on your Ensure Plus Supplement drink.
  7. I think they have asked the school if he can “transfer” to Brownsburg. For academic and family reasons of course.
  8. 1. College takedown are call quicker. As soon as they touch the mat at all. Establishing control doesn't have to be and obvious as HS and there is no reaction time considered unlike we usually see in HS. 2. Yes the HS refs tend to let the wrestlers work on positions longer before calling a stalemate or a stalling. And a little more backwards movement if defending a takedown before a fleeing is called. College refs will call a reset as soon as the action stops for more than a brief second. Call a stalling as soon as the top wrestler is just holding on or bottom is not moving for more than a second. Plus call a fleeing as soon as you make more than one small movement backward close to out of bounds.
  9. Sorry but that’s what you get for getting your hopes up. The day is still young in the central time-zone. Soon the masses will throw the shades back from their eyes and start chattering.
  10. She earned every bit of that one too. Heck of a lot of heart and determination there. Congrats.
  11. Obviously two things need to always be considered when: 1. The random draw of Semi-State and State which causes a ranked wrestler takes out another lower ranked wrestlers. 2. If you are within 3-5 ranking spots of each other it really shouldn’t be much of a surprise if the lower ranked wrestlers found a move at the right time to win in a close match. So I never really see those matches as the rankings failing. Once those are factored in most people would be amazed about how above bar the rankers tend to be.
  12. From the image you posted win didnt process through the in the system. Shows him as not placing and 0 points.
  13. Didn’t mean to slight Levi Abbott. He’s got some lineage too. Southside blood going through his veins too.
  14. Can we count Jackson Bradley as a Muncie Southsider? It’s about as close as we have left.
  15. Most impressive thing to me about Ocampo’s win was she was down 5 early and almost pinned, but just went back to plugging away. That’s the type of heart and fight we need to see out of all wrestlers.
  16. Plenty of wrestling to go this evening. We will have a clearer picture of what maybe possible after this session. CP has left the door just a hair open though.
  17. Good call. That completely slip my mind from this summer until you brought it up.
  18. Brownsburg and Center Grove gotta be getting their light-weights rallied up after this upper-weight round threw them a little more rope to climb into the team race.
  19. Just getting the thread ready for posting to start.
  20. If I recall they are waiting until after Friday’s sessions concluded so that parents of winning wrestlers get a chance to use their voucher to purchase tickets for Saturday’s competition before all of them are grabbed up by the general public.
  21. Something tells me the seating process will be easier to figure out.
  22. Markio I’m glad we have you connected with the wrestling community. For years you have played the roles of point man, trouble shooter, or information guru for us on any Ford Center events. We would be in a deeper state of confusion and chaos on this matter and other previous ones if you weren’t around. Thanks for the added time you put in try to help the wrestlers, coaches, and fans.
