  1. Somebody needs to find a dead horse, we're gonna need it.
  2. Metcalf is a bomb waiting to go off...... That is exactly what I thought about Brands too, so not exactly a longshot IF Iowa wanted a change. My money stays with Brands for now.
  3. Blake Maurer his senior year, DJ Radnovich his senior year, Matt Coughlin his senior year. I realize it wasn't during the HS season but Coughlin beat Tsirtsis during summer wrestling, also beat a guy out of Florida named Cozart who was ranked pretty high nationally as well (whipped his butt!) So the story goes Coughlin and a few MD guys were at a camp with Coach Randy Helfrich. Cozart starts wrestling one of the MD guys and is handling him pretty good. Cozart starts running his mouth about how MD sucks blah blah blah. Randy turns to Matt and says go kick his "butt" Cozart had no clue who Matt was and said I'll bet you $200 I'll beat you. Matt says "$200? You're on" the style chosen was freestyle, Matt went to work on the guy and THREW him to his back, right before the pin was called Matt pulled him up (illegal in freestyle) and commenced the butt kicking..... NO MERCY. It took the rest of the week but the kid paid up.
  4. Sorry I think PA would hurt us pretty bad. I'm not up on present day rankings but between PA and OH I think we'd win a few but not most.
  5. Loved having it in Evansville but it should/will be in Indy as much as possible.
  6. I didn't get moved after I bought seats but all we could get were nose bleeds. I kept looking down and seeing empty seats and thought the heck with it I'm moving down there. No one showed up in the seats that I was sitting in I wouldn't have argued but I just would have moved to another set of open seats. I don't know if the Ford Center or Ticketmaster screwed us on that but the fans got the shaft on that one.
  7. Could IHSAA get Ticketmaster to set a hierarchy on seating like parents and coaches first all session tickets second and single session tickets third? Unlike what they did this year and left blank spaces for single session ticket buyers in premium spots? Or is that solely controlled by Ticketmaster?
  8. My seats were way up in the nosebleeds and I kept seeing empty seats down near the floor so we just moved. I would check Ticketmaster and the seats were never sold. Wrestlers and coaches should get their allotment first then priorities should go to all session ticket holders and then single session. Or just make it one price for the whole dang thing. Ticketmaster put the screws to us and ihsaa let them do it. Unfortunately I think the only way to avoid this in the future is to go general admission all the way around but that's not fair to the coaches and wrestlers families.
  9. Not saying the ticket situation is right but if anyone here was in the IHSAA's shoes how would you handle next year's tickets? I say back to general admission.
  10. We told you guys coming in that it was a bit cooler than most venues. Seating was great in my opinion.
  11. On another note every single employee of the Ford Center that I came across was very nice and helpful. Some venues that I go to such as gainbridge or Lucas Oil that is not the case. Instead of helpful they are aggressive and abrasive. It truly was a nice change of pace to be able to talk to someone that didn't act like they had better things to do than help you out. And I mean that for every single employee that I encountered.
  12. Maybe I have more insulation but I never did get cold all weekend
  13. You guys did a good job, my only complaint was the no pass outs on Friday night. You guys know that there's a lot of working families that go to this and to make them feed their kids with a $15 chicken sandwich is hard on a guy. Other than that I think the Ford Center did an outstanding job. Thank you for your hard work!
  14. Agree 100%! It's the absolute pinnacle of Indiana wrestling. If he's not puting his opponent down, flipping the bird, or doing anything obscene then let the kid have a moment. We all love a good back flip, if they made it this far you know darn well they worked for it.
  15. No doubt the Southwestern part of the state lucked out on travel time but who here wouldn't be happy to have it in their own town if they had the venue? I thought Evansville did a good job. I didn't like having no pass outs for Friday's session though.
  16. Switching this up a bit. My "Not Top 5" 5: Weather 4: No pass outs for Friday night and paying ridiculous prices to eat. 3: IHSAA not shipping the original podium 2: Attendance 1:Ticketmaster
  17. It's Joe's website, he can do whatever he wants.
  18. Was this the announcer's name? If so I think he dod a good job, the finals announcements like their career achievements could be said in order of importance and the semistate champion / semistate they came from could be cleaned up a little in my very unprofessional opinion. But I sure as heck couldn't do as good of a job, he is following an absolute legend so good job on him and I hope he continues to announce for State.
  19. So what's up with the back flips? Or lack there of? I say if a kid wins a state championship he should be able to do a back flip or 2 or 3 or 4 depending on how many he has won. Is there something that happened to make this change? I'm a pretty low key guy but come on let yhe kid have some fun.
  20. As stated before will call employees were VERY nice. They didn't botch this, IHSAA and ticketmaster need to get their stuff straight.
  21. Agreed I think we got screwed if this chart is accurate.
  22. Friendship Diner gets my vote but Kite and Key is good as well, K&K might be crowded if you're not early enough but Friendship has plenty of seating and the food is awesome at both.
