  1. Indiana has it partly right and Ohio has it partly right. Individual State should be one class and no team score. Team State should be classed and your true Team State Champions.
  2. Palmer Wrestling is in need of a 182 lb. the weight is 180 plus 2. 182 max send me a private here if interested! Team will be coached by Collin Palmer! Trying to get this filled up, there are a couple of camps coming up that will provide great mat time prior to this event! Send me a email at donkability@gmail.com
  3. What?s it to any of you? Why do you care? We all have more important things in our lives to focus on, so why is anyone chastising a kid and his family about a family decision? Does anyone on here want us second guessing choices you make for your family? There are pros and cons about every decision that is made. It is only natural that this family weighed both and made the decision that was most beneficial to their situation. I for one am very happy that I live in a country where I have the right to make my own decisions. I see one valid argument in favor of the general public against repeating a grade. This argument does not apply to this situation and has not been mentioned here. The fact is that this decision has absolutely no affect on any of us. So why attack it?
  4. Coach McCormick- As always, you put on a 1st class camp that Corey has enjoyed attending over the years. Thanks for all you do for wrestling.

  11. From the HYWAY vs USA discussion we should all realize one thing. Competition is a good thing. We have a similar situation going on in Ohio with OAC and OURWAY. Before OURWAY came along, OAC had little reason to improve anything. They were it and USA Wrestling-Ohio has no interest in being involved in the game. Though OAC is considered to still be ?THE? Folkstyle State Championship in OH, I don?t think it is a coincidence that OAC has added a 6 and under division, present State Finalist singlets and All-Ohio T-shirts to State Placers since OURWAY has come to the table. Since OURWAY did those things, OAC had to reduce profit margins to keep up. OURWAY presents huge, heavy trophies while OAC presents Ohio shaped medals. Both present large brackets to champions. OURWAY goes to a much greater expense for placement awards, but my son had never complained about receiving an OAC medal. I think the concept of MYWAY and the point of Dave Dean was to keep membership funds local. USAW uses ISWA membership income for things outside the state of Indiana. This in my opinion is not all bad. They are the nationally sanctioned body of amateur wrestling in the US. They do have a little something to do with our top athletes that compete for world and Olympic titles. Without this type of funding to USAW we would only have the wealthy competing at these levels, and wrestling is largely a blue collar sport. Now Dean spoke of some states getting preferential treatment from USAW. This is obviously a problem if it is in fact happening.
  12. Please give Avery Zerkle a call. (937)631-2099. He can tell you if there are good kids registered around his weight. Avery is an outstanding technician and relates well to the kids. Personally speaking, my son has done several Golden Cross camps and I have never been disappointed. Quite frankly, I wouldn't miss one. Steve Shie
