  1. Congrats Levi... Great wrestler, great kid.
  2. My brothers team was playing in the regional finals in football. After the inspirational speech from the coaches the captains of the team spoke and one of them said "let's win this for all the small schools that never had a chance to get here" (from the movie hoosiers). The only problem.... we were all class 2a in football.
  3. Are you open Sunday morning for middle school state? javascript:void(0);
  4. Does anyone have individual results/winners for this?
  5. Yes, Brayden Montgomery is the real deal. Very tough kid.
  6. Yes, the Wright vs Eppert match sticks out in my mind as the best. Eppert was(is) a training machine. A great case study on being mentally tough when it counts. Two great indiana wrestlers going at it.
  7. Not sure who else is alive in the conso's. I know Molloy is still alive at 125. Anyone else?
  8. Kyle is ok. They made a mistake on the bracket. He did not inj. Default.
  9. Great question. Not sure what my thoughts are. I have not heard of any schools that plan on cutting wrestling....although I did hear of one small 2a school cutting soccer because of budget issues. My personal opinion is that High Schools will never get out of the sports business because it's a community builder. What I do think will happen is the Schools will start to specialize in certain sports and do away with others. So, you might go to school A for wrestling or if your really into soccer you might go to school B. Club and School will work together. Think of Mishawaka and you think of wrestling. You get the picture. I also think the battle lines are being drawn now. So better start supporting your school now(in wrestling) or it could be gone in 10 years. I do think it will make for better wrestling matches. There's no better show than the HS wrestling state finals or a really good dual meet. As for the "non superstar" it will become tougher for them as varsity spots will be fewer. The solution for them is more of a rec league or church league. Again, just an opinion.
  10. Caliboy, I don't always agree with you. But you are good for wrestling because you have an opinion and you say it. Which usually creates a good discussion. Keep the post comin' and good luck to Andre come tourney time.
  11. Not really familiar with this situation at all but I assume(?) McCormick is making a statement to the other schools(and the AD's)....saying this county should be more competitive than this in wrestling so I'm sending my JV? Or is the fact that Yorktown is just stacked and he wanted to get the JV mat time? Has this been done before at other schools? I personally thinks its a bold move and if I was the AD(or coach) at another school it would *$!@# me off. Which maybe is a good thing.
  12. I agree, I think Anthony Quiroz should have made it considering the heavier weight class and being a freshman. You don't see a freshman do that well at a heavier weight class to often.
  13. It looks like Wilson was at 130. Not 125 from trackwrestling. Am I reading it wrong?
