  1. In the Fort Wayne Semi-state you have to go with the NHC. I wouldn't say that it is the best in the state, but I would say it is in the area. I always thought it was pretty cool that a couple of years ago all of the teams in the conference qualified for team regionals (when they took tw teams out per sectional).
  2. Thanks same to you guys, and boone grove.
  3. Devils27 I appologize if my posts came off as being negative towards coach line or his program. I do not know much about boone grove, or coach line. I do know that lowell has had a long a storied tradition, and I'm sure that he will have great success at boone grove. The posts that I made were in reponse to oscars post, and his posts in the past that have dealt with the team aspect of wrestling. It was in no way to question coach lines philosphy towards coaching. It was meant to challenge oscars idea that the individual aspect of wrestling is more important than the team aspect, and that teams that are successful have somehow either cheated or done something that is incorrect, which I disagree with. Again I appologize if my comments seem directed toward coach line, I in know way was trying to challenge his philosophy or situation.
  4. I dont disagree with the fact that wrestlers need to be held to a high standard and need to work hard. I have read several posts from Oscar where he puts down the team portion of wrestling in the past. I am just trying to get an insight more into how, and why he feels this way. I agree that teams need to work hard, at the same time this can be done without running your whole team off. I also dont see many individuals let alone teams that are out of shape and would show signs of "not working hard' If a match goes six minutes both wrestlers are generally pretty tired (Which they should be). I personally have not seen any team in Indiana that doesn't work and train hard, its part of the sport, all teams no matter how big or how small work hard imo.
  5. Rankings guy, Out of curiousity do you know how many of these current undefeateds are currently unranked? I would look it up but im too lazy, just didn't know if you knew off the top of your head. I would assume it is not many of them, if that is the case could you give reasons why they are unranked. I would assume that generally it is because of the competition that they have wrestled, or that a weight class is loaded with guys who have a body of work over the years. Our 189 is one of them and I know that not making weight at Rochester and not potentially seeing Hurford didnt help his cause, so anyhow just wondering about some of the other guys on the list. Thanks.
  6. Why do you feel that not having many kids out for the team is a good thing? How does not having many kids out for the team help promote our sport at all? There are plenty of teams out there with large numbers who work hard and do things the right way. Having low numbers in no way shows that a team has character or class, it may acctually show the opposite (I am not in anyway saying that is the situation at Boone Grove). I dont see how you think this is god for a sport or a team at a particular school. Shouldnt we try and get more kids into our sport? Its attitudes like the one shown in your above statement that are causing our sport to grow at a rate that is much slower than other sports. Im sure that Boone Groves coach is doing a good job with the kids he has, but I would be willing to bet he would take a full team of guys if they were willing to put in the effort. Just because a team has a lot of guys doesn't mean that those kids dont put in the same effort as teams with less kids.
  7. Please share this page with any fan, coach, or wrestler in the state. We would like to get as many members of the wrestling community involved in this endevour as possible.
  8. As we all know we are in danger of loosing the team state tournament in Indiana. If we stand united we can make a difference and help to change our state assocations view on this event. The IHSWCA, and the Committee to Save Team State are working to save this event, but the entire Indiana Wrestling Community can do their part as well. All you need to do is attend the the regional and/or state finals events. It does not matter if your team is in the event or not. Your attendence shows our state atheletic assocition not only that this event is profitable, but also popular, and important to our community as a whole. It is the goal of the Committee to work not only to save this event, but to also to eventually class it so that it can effect more teams and indivduals than it currently does. We hope that someday the team state finals will showcase the best schools of all sizes from around the state. This event is too important to lose, please do your part. The Commitee to Save team State is in the process of working to plan events, and advertise the importance of our team state series, it will take the involvement of the whole wrestling community to make this happen. If you are interested in helping save this great event the first thing that each of you can do is to friend us on our facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=19&uid=125793160819534#!/pages/Committee-to-Save-Team-State-Indiana-High-School-Wrestling/125793160819534 This page will have not only inforamation about upcoming events, and tournament sights, and times, but also pictures, news about the future of the team state event, and testimonials about the importance of this great event from our states top coaches and wrestlers. We look foward to seeing you on facebook and at the team regional and state finals.
  9. Any word on how many coaches have gotten this in?
  10. I remember seeing these when the came out, I really enjoyed them.
  11. The season iowa wrestling is really good. Devildog put all the youtube clips on here, if you haven't seen it and like wrestling it a must see.
  12. I know your joking around, but I have heard a few people hint at that. I can assure you that isn't the case. Braxton was pumped up to wrestle and made a stupid mistake yesterday thats all there was to it.
  13. Braxton had too much chistmas ham last night and didnt make weiight this morning. 189.2
  14. Hamilton Busco, Hurford Culver, Simpson Rochester
  15. Just for fun what do you think is the stronger tournament. I conside them pretty even with some good small schools, and tough big schools. they are both solid tournaments that get overlooked at times by Al Smith and connersville. So either way what do you think is the stronger event? ECIC or Rochester. Teams: ECIC Alexandria, Blackford, Bluffton, Delta, Heritage, Jay County, Monroe Central, Muncie Southside, Norteastern, Norwell, Randolph Southern, Shenandoah, South Adams, Southern Wells, Union City, Wes-Del, Winchester Rochester Breman,Caston, Churubusco, Culver Community, Knox, Laville, Manchester, North Miami, Northridge, Plymouth, Rensalear Central(Sp), Rochester, South Bend Clay, South Bend Washington, Tippy Valley, Triton
  16. Y2 We should be 12-8 we beat Westview on thursday. I will have my manager put the scores on the results page tomarrow.
  17. I guess that's why they notify you someone had posted a reply while you were writting your post.
  18. Why rank them at a weight they won't be at? The rankings predict the top kids at each weightin the semistate, if those kids will be at 103 then the should be ranked at that weight to give us the best idea of who could make it to indy. The top kids at a weight in december don't matter, its january when it matters
  19. I had rens. I'm still missing one team. You know who it is karl?
  20. I remember reading that an update book by TAE was coming out at some point, can you tell me if that's the case and if so how to get one?
  21. The tourny is a nice 16 team event that is this Thursday. I would consider it similar to the ecic, any one got any predictions? Participating teams off the top of my head, no particualar order Busco Clay Sb washington Plymouth Rochester Culver community Triton Knox Northridge Manchester Rens. Central Laville Caston Tippy valley North miami Breman
  22. South adams is very good, but I've got to stick up for the necc on this one. South adams 47 Busco 23 Ph 72 Busco 9 Ph 60 East noble 15 East noble 36 Leo 37 South adams 34 Leo 33 I realize that all teams involved had some guys missing from their line up at some point, but these scores are pretty convincing to me. Maybe the south bend teams are underated. Either way I feel that both south adams and ph deserve to be close to being rated, both are very good teams. It would be a great match between them. Also. I hope that all of this parody helps get people in the seats at team regional and team state. We need it!
  23. Does that make prarie heights 22. We wrestled both and heights would be right there with them. Heights beat us by a lot more, but I know you can't go on that at all.
