  1. Did they give a reason for making them illegal? If you watch any college dual you’ll see at least a couple of them.
  2. Maybe Moreno bumps up and wrestles Triana. Moreno wrestled 120 at the county but Triana did not wrestle. Hopefully Triana is still not injured?
  3. I think the majority of the time the best wrestlers usually get out of sectionals but this is a great point. Depending on if a wrestler ends up on the top or bottom bracket could determine if he’s a semi state qualifier.
  4. How will this be enforced? Broadcast sports among others mentioned a few weeks back that many schools are forgeting, to busy or for whatever the reason not inputting results here or let alone track wrestling.
  5. Merrillville wins 31-26. Always a good dual with close competitive matches. 3 went into OT with Merrillville winning 2 and CP 1.
  6. I have two questions regarding the locking hands. Is there any reaction time when you’re on top and return someone to the mat? and how could that ref make that call from his angle? It didn’t look like he could’ve conclusively seen the locked hands from where he was standing.
  7. I think the pros definitely out weigh the cons. Especially for the college coaches, families and just general fans of the sport.
  8. Rumor is they may add a couple more transfers to their current twisters.
  9. I think they should also make sure if possible that they show the entire mat. In the Brownsburg Portage match you could not see the right side.
  10. If you click on a teams page you can go to their trackwrestling account and most teams have their whole season updated
  11. I just copy and pasted from track wrestling from my phone hopefully you can read this

  14. Final score: Merrillville 35 Harrison 30 It was a good dual Merrillville won 8 matches. Also some good matches throughout the day.
  15. Mcintosh beat Hoover Washington beat Griggs 6-5 in a very close match. Washington looked like he was cramping up.
  16. The tournament is on track wrestling. Hopefully this link works. http://www.trackwrestling.com/tw/predefinedtournaments/TournamentDashboard.jsp?TIM=1512233826664&twSessionId=knrytvmfceupbhp&newWindow=Y
  17. Michael Delapena battles back after losing in the round of 16 to a kid from California and beats the same kid to make the 3-4 place match.
  18. That would be ideal but I don't see the IHSAA going for that. How about just poll the finals coaches for the starting weight.
  19. How about David Maldonado-Merrillville 48-17 on Friday night (.738 win pct.) and 9 state champions in 13 seasons.
  20. I only saw the last "slam" and didn't think it alone was illegal. He didn't appear to have the arm trapped and I've seen others that were brought down harder without being called. That being said after the second one was called I would have been sure not to lift him off the ground.
  21. Do you the wrestlers have to have a USA card?
  22. I'm surprised he's not already in. Considering he's coached many more state placers and champions than other coaches already in.
  23. I've been attending the Calumet regional for a long time and first Coach Watkins is one of the most respected coaches in the state and has done many great things for the sport. That being said if you are attending the regional you usually don't have to hurry as it hardly ever starts on time. And like the sectional this regional is one of (if not the last) regional in the state to finish. One thing I do miss, is the movie they used to play in the cafeteria.
  24. What's really depressing is the host of the sectional and semi state East Chicago only has 3 wrestlers entered.
