vito pepperelli got a reaction from UncleJimmy in Penn vs. OPRF
I think Loki's point was Fabio was "throwing dirt"(your words) on Penn's attempt to beef up it's wrestling schedule. Perhaps a supporter of all Indiana wrestling programs could say something positive about Penn's attempt to challenge themselves against the best of the best? Or not, but then you have to prepare to have it thrown back at you. Lastly, Fabio's a big boy he can defend himself.

Don't worry about sportsfangms. He typed his response from a Lincoln Park loft wearing his hipster oversized Raybans, skinny jeans, cardigan sweater and Sperry deck shoes (even though he's never ridden in a boat in his life).

That was when I had hair aka the good ole days! Marriage and a 5 year old daughter going on 15 will do wonders for your hairline and color.

Nope. I'm saying fanning the flames on a website isn't the solution to the problem. If I was more directly affected by the ISWA's actions perhaps I might be more incensed than I am. However, I hope I would be able to put the totality of the ISWA and their actions into perspective. Starting a post saying the "ISWA needs to be put on notice" is bush league in my opinion, and quite frankly the guy ticked me off to the point I felt compelled to say something. Don't worry AJ, I am going back into my bunker and will let the geniuses solve all of Indiana wrestling's faults.

Point of clarification: Penn is only considered part of the region when bragging about semi-state superiority.

Do you know for a fact they intended to backtrack the entire time? I think it's fair to question their judgment about changing the rule, but your quote above is essentially saying the ISWA intentionally conspired to change the rule the whole time. Questioning their integrity and their decision making are two different things, in my opinion.

vito pepperelli got a reaction from AJ in Stop Booing!
According to the all knowing Wikipedia, booing began as early as 6 B.C. so good luck putting a stop to it. Personally, I think the issue is way overblown. In a perfect world kids wouldn't fake injury time, then miraculously "heal" and explode off the whistle for an escape. In a more perfect world, coaches wouldn't turn a blind eye to obvious efforts at gaining an unfair competitive advantage. I don't know the ratio, but I am going to guess most acts that get booed are far more deserved than not. For every kid that gets booed for legit blood time, there's far more faking injuries, etc. because they are gassed.
jchas, I get your point but part of me also thinks this is leading to the further sissification of America.... I'm middle aged now so maybe I'm getting cynical and tired of the "poor me" attitude. You know the kind: "it's not my fault, somebody else made me do it." Should we stop cheering for the winner because it might hurt the losers feelings? Of course not, but it's really all the same message.
Did I boo on Saturday? Guilty as charged. I booed the kid who faked an injury to attempt an unfair competitive advantage. I booed the ref who allowed the kid to back up with 2 seconds left in the match after he'd already been warned for stalling and backed up with 7 seconds left. And I booed the obese ref who was too lazy to get down into position to count near fall. And for full disclosure, I booed Jack Robinson West for fielding a team of ringers and no one can convince me those kids didn't know their actions were wrong. They cheated. Period.
I know that's not a popular thing to say, but it's how I feel. In my opinion, there's just a little too much political correctness right now in this world. I'm going to focus on my own shortcomings, and keep on supporting Indiana wrestling for as long as I can (and hope it stays classless!!).

Many times it is the action that is being booed, not the wreslter.. I do think there is a difference...
Booing blood or injury time shows frustration with stoppage of the match...

vito pepperelli got a reaction from backtothemat in ref medical authority
Have the proper form Doctors diagnose Officials officiate Coaches coach Parents trust the system Common sense not being common sounds like the problem to me. If an athlete provides documentation from a doctor on the proper form, what training does an official have to override the medical diagnosis? I don't recall an official asking for my opinion when I am sitting in the stands. If everyone serves their role, and trust others to do theirs, then a great many issues are minimized.

Please tell me you're joking? That Glenn Robinson is a fat, bald, white dude! Gelen's dad does not resemble that description in any way, shape, or form. Intentional or not, that's hilarious.

Uhh yeah they have an online version? Do you even D&D bro? Puhlease.
If you have no affiliation for any of the teams you shouldn't feel the need to credit or discredit their accomplishments. As Hook and Scholar have stated this format gives many more teams a chance at qualifying for a team state and that is exactly what it is called for a reason. It would be different if some random school hosted a tournament they called team state and only invited a few schools around their area. This is completely different. Every team in the state is considered and looked at.
