  4. Does anybody know if mat cleaner can be put into an atomizer? This would be for walls and just in the air.
  5. But Greco: 1. Then I get told I'm not doing my job getting them in for RTC and in freestyle and on traveling teams. 2. We got the banners they all have a 1A on them. 3-4. Been pretty well known for years. 5. Watch do they hold it up after palming it, or turn it over on the other hand. Pay attention. I never catch mine, everybody knows for sure. 8. You should know all wrestling used to be that way. My first sectional the coaches were in the stands. Yes, I officiated greco when coaches were not at mats edge. Then they were at mats edge and could encourage but not coach. That was rough internationally. 9. Never saw contact from a 10' circle starting with a backstep. A lot of setups from the close lines which makes it harder.
  6. ???Ramblings from a nonsensical mind 1. Why are open gyms at 3:30/5:30 when kids are in baseball or track? Maybe 6:30! 2. How do you tell the prospect why there are sectional banners from all the stick and ball sports but not from track and wrestling. 3. When was the last time you were asked what was needed, before it was a yes/no vote? 4. When was the last time you were asked about a national rule change before it went into effect? 5. How many officials catch the disc, then show us, rather than let it land? 6. How many times do you see ?the trained staff?, texting while scoring or timing? 7. How many think that local tournaments, many times, can be run more efficiently by humans than a computer? 8. How many would like to see the coaches setting in the stands and see what the athletes really know during a dual meet? 9. How would you like to start on the 10? circle and have it be an automatic stalling warning for a step backward? 10. Many of us go to the individual state. How many go to the team state that are not directly related to one of the teams?
  7. Little Brooks when he grows into the weight class.
  8. Hudson in the ticket round. the other match was Brooks and Bradley in the finals
  9. Just catching up from being off yeaterday. I just read about 12 small school kids making it out at at Merrilleville. My figures say a much different thing. Start of the day qualifiers 5A 110 37 4A 47 6 3A 23 4 2A 29 8 (5 delphi) A 17 1
  10. Bob Read at Plymouth is by far the leader in the NLC. Always had good teams. Very successful individuals.
  11. If the IHSAA board is stuck with no change, maybe a slight change from ISWA would help. During the IHSAA season maybe the coaches should be able to select maybe 2 of our weigh ins as an open meet. Possibley designate the holiday break as an open contest period. Maybe the real star could go to something like the midlands. Possibly an Al Smith open. The stud from the A class school could enter. The 5A class kid that has ok ability could enter a meet at say a class A school geared for the OK kid. Then maybe another school might have a beginners tourney. This would eliminate the current problem presented at "J-V tourneys". The real quality kid that is second string smashing a rookie. After a couple of years the quality would be evident. Some school may get 1st and 2nd in a weight class but not get penalized by not having an entry in another class. No team awards would be given just individual.
  12. Last year we had a list of the members and their schools. Could a little survey and questions as to the attitudes done in house answer some of the membership questions. A few area rep meeting might be nice rather than a onetime shot in Indianapolis.
  13. Poor Horse! Lets take Mishawaka and divide it into 4 teams. 2 or 3 first stringers in each school. Lets say 103,145, and 215 in school A, 112,125, 285 in school B, 119, 130, 171 in school C, 135, 189, 152 in school D. 140 and 160 choose basketball in Indiana and at a smaller school, you know. We now need 4 rooms, 4 head coaches, 4 assistants. None of these teams get invited to the Al Smith because last year they had the dreaded forfeits. Remember with the IHSAA the coaches can not work with each other, the wrestlers can not work with each other until spring. With the smaller schools more of the wrestlers are multiple sport atheletes in order to help the schools in conference races, so much of the ISWA stuff is out. I would gladly schedule them with my 15-20 wrestlers.
  14. The guy that mentioned Scott Hutcherson must go futher back to see where he got it. Ron Hutcherson was always winning and motivating his wrestlers. If you watch he still has the respect of Warsaw's wrestlers. Nobody around South Bend could leave Moe Aronson off their list.
  15. ;D Back in the true chalkboard days. The bracket was on the board and the coaches would say the kids name and record. The tourney director would write it down and then discuss the possible seeds. One coach said " I have a real fish at this class, his name is carp, thats C,a,r,p. The tourney director had it written down before he realized that he'd been had.

  17. This is a reinjury. He'll be OK, but not wrestling. Good kid, too bad to loose a competitor, but the bottom line is he'll be ok.
