    Took a quick peek at the Illinois rankings for Belleville West and Downers Grove South. Belleville West: 113 3A #3 - Josh Koderhandt 120 3A Honorable mention - Lamont Barnes 160 3A #7 - Logan Johnson Downer's Grove South 126 3A HM - Matt Straus 138 3A HM - Dylan Knoch 145 3A #6 - Robert Major 152 3A HM - Jeff Nugent Neither team is ranked in 3A in Illinois.

    Nebraska's website had him at 9-4 through 12/8. That was when I checked it yesterday. It's been updated through 12/16 and is showing him at 10-5 on the year. Regardless, I'm looking forward to Nick Lee adding to Red's loss column.

    Just because our back up is better than him doesn't make it an upset.

    Red will sit this one out. He's lost 4 times already, 3 to unranked guys and one to #20 Storr of Michigan. Not sure what his deal is. College grind, weight issues, peaked in HS? Who knows. I think Lee cruises to a rather comfortable win if the match happens.

    Did a little research on Woodford and Trinity. Woodford County is currently ranked the #1 dual team in KY.     Marinelli wrestled. Kemmerer was out at 174. He probably beats Lydy. With Iowa's full lineup a shut out would have been likely

    Match ups matter though. Is he just a bad match up for Parris? Or was it just a bad match?

    Without seeing the match, 15-9 doesn't seem like a coin flip. I'm sure Parris will identify what he needs to work on to make up the difference.

    Matt Stevens wasn't a state champ. He was runner up to Jason Terry in '91 and was later DQ'd for working out with a wrestler from another school during the post season. I believe it was Chad Williams from Southridge, who was a placer in '91 as well. Rob Deters didn't win state either, but his little brother did.

    Blake is tremendous and I can see a state title or 2 in his future, but that is a tough Mt. Rushmore to get on with the likes of Nick and Joe Lee, Maurer, Coughlin, etc. etc.

    I never once recall MD working Greco into any of our practices when I was there under Goebel and Helfrich. That seemed to work out well. Don't know what Schaeffer is showing in the room, but I'd be surprised if Greco is in the mix. I'm of the opinion that you should master a handful of techniques rather than be avg at hundreds of them.

    Berge techs Lee 11-0. 5 td’s and a pushout. Berge looked a lot quicker than Lee and made it look fairly easy.

    Carr beats Joe Lee regularly. I'd favor him over B Lee as well. I've seen some highlights of Teemer as well. He's a freak. that will be a good match with B Lee.

    The coach is recruiting the kids, therefore he is responsible for developing them. He has failed. Either he has recruited kids that were not Big 10 caliber or he hasn't developed them. Either way, he has failed and it is time for a change.
