The BGWC will be hosting it's 11th annual golf outing on September 8th at Valle Vista Golf Club in Greenwood. Cost is $65 per golfer. This includes green's fees, all drinks on the course, and dinner afterwards. Prizes will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place teams, closest to the pin and longest drive. I agree with all of these. Here are a few more I'd add to Weimer's list. Safety-Our middle school does not have a room. Practices are held in the gym or in hallways on tumbling mats. Kids often end up on the hardwood or against a concrete block wall. Also, Coach Weimer mentioned the time involved with mopping, don't forget about the health risks involved if they are not properly and regularly mopped. Money-Most AD's do not want to drop money on purchasing new wrestling mats. Most wear and tear on a mat is the result of moving them or improper storage. I know we have nearly ruined two 42x42 Resilites simply because we have to store them under a stage on rollers. Not sure how I would categorize my last point, but the number of athletes come into play. If you have to move/roll mats daily, you need a certain amount of people to do this. Maybe our situation is unique because our mats are divided into halves and its middle school, but if we don't have a decent number of kids show up for practice, it becomes very difficult to roll them out. Individual workouts or voluntary practices are pretty much impossible. Good luck with your project. I hope this helps.

It was at the Super 8. Paul tied the match and Mac had him cut Lance to go for the win. Paully lost that match by one. He did beat him the same year at Centrals in Madison, WI. Dragon Dad, Lance was a NCAA Qualifier for the Hoosiers as a true freshman. Some other notable wins for Lance were over Troy or Terry Steiner by fall at SE Nationals and I'm pretty sure he beat Alan Fried. Can anyone else confirm that?

They were not in the same sectional. They did wrestle each other in the Marion County finals that year too. Bradley and Campbell also wrestled each other in the CCC and Marion County finals that year. If I remember correctly, Campbell's only losses that season were all to Bradley.

Danny Struck received the National Developmen-tal Coach of the Year during the USA Cadet/Junior National Championships in Fargo, North Dakota last week. USA Wrestling, the national governing body for the United States Olympic Committee, honors one coach for the work they do in developing athletes and programs for future Olympians. Struck has been head wrestling coach for the Red Devils for the past nine years and has been the head of the Team Jeff Wrestling Club. During his tenure, Struck's teams have won 254 dual meets with 37 individual Hoosier Hills Conference champions, 48 semi-state qualifiers and nine state qualifiers. "It was very nice to be recognized for my years of work," said Struck. "My goals are to make the Team Jeff Wrestling Club and Jeff High the best in Indiana, and to make Indiana the best club state in the nation, and to continue help making the United States the premiere wrestling country in the world." To receive this award each of the five regions of the USA Wrestling selected their regional coach of the year. A panel selected the national coach of the year from those five recommendations. "I have never tried to win an award, except for a state title," Struck continued. "That is our team goal. Our purpose is to make kids the best people they can possibly be. No, Paul never wrestled 98lbs. He was 105 his freshman year. Furthermore, Paul beat Lance at Central Nationals in Madison, Wisconsin which was their senior year in high school(after the IHSAA state tournament). Lance went on to win the tournament if my memory is correct. Prior to that tournament, at the Super 8, the match was tied, Paul cut Lance and wasn't able to take him down, lost by one. The only 98lbers that wrestled Glogas at that time were either Scot Dawson or Bert Bennet.
