Lol I thought the title was funny so i am running with it.

I want to wish Coach Ratliff the best of luck in his next 2 years as IHSWCA president.  Next Week we will be sending out the ballots for our next VP.  We have two qualified candidates in Mark Line and Jake O'Neil.  I want to thank everyone for their support and input in my 5 years serving the IHSWCA (1 year as Sect, 2 years as VP, 2 Years as Prez)  I really enjoyed the experience and feel that the relationship we as a association has built with the IHSAA is tremendous.  Is everything in the sport of wrestling in Indiana great?  No, but we have been making continued strides in the right direction to constantly improve our sport.  I will serve the next 2 years in a advisory role to Coach Ratliff if he ever needs to bounce ideas off of me just as Coach Struck did with me.  I think this experience has helped me understand where our sport has been and where we are going.  I feel that no matter what i will always now be there to help the IHSWCA in the future and I ask more of you to get involved.  I would love down the road to do this all over again as I feel making sure we stay on the right path is important.

Here are the four Semi States since google maps only allows a certain number of layers...I kinda did my own borders based on the schools

Id recommend a computer to view as I am not sure how the mobile experience will be....you should be able to click on each sectional and the list of schools and my border should pop up

Over all it looks pretty good with only a few head scratchers.....

As  you all know Riley is pretty good at wrestling.  But I have to tell you all of something i witnessed after the the event was over that tells more about this MAN!!.  After the event was over and the parents, coaches, & team were all celebrating with the 3rd Place team trophy at a near by restaurant.  I walked back to where I had been sitting with my youngest son Easton (Owen's brother).  As i approach the table, here is Easton (age 10) and Riley in a full conversation.  What other 4X NCAA champ sits with a 10 year old after he just made NCAA Wrestling history and talks about how Easton has been doing in his matches and asking how proud he was of his older brother being an All-American?  This man is truly one of a kind not only on the mat but in his everyday life.  Every event that we had went to this year to watch Owen and the Wabash team, Easton was in constant wrestling mode with one of the Lefever boys, wrestling around and fending for his life.  It is a year that Easton or the whole Doster family will never forget.  Wabash wrestling is about academics & team!!  Wabash was the best decision our son made and the state of Indiana has a GEM in Wabash College.  #WAF #onevision

It would not be an issue really as they wouldnt count as weigh in points as its woul;d be an official IHSAA Postseason event.

They way to do it would be an opt in format if you want to partcicpate you can if not you dont have too. sectionals are drawn based on who all signed up.

it is a similar way Ohio does their dual tournament

infowrestling reacted to Coach McCormick in McCormick and Harvey... both in Army WP Line-up Last Weekend
Ben Harvey has been a mainstay in the Army West Point varsity line-up all season.  Last weekend, Cael McCormick was called up to the big leagues for Army's two duals against Lehigh and Bucknell at 165.

Both Harvey and McCormick fell short against a very tough Lehigh squad on Friday.  They both bounced back strong on Sunday against Bucknell where they both picked up bonus points for the Black Knights.  It was neat to see two IN boys -- back to back-- in the Army WP varsity line-up.

If you didn't get to watch Elkins fight last night at UFC 209, I promise it's worth looking up to watch!

Darren was losing badly after the first two rounds (I pray that my opinion here doesn't piss off Daren and have him come to Carmel and smash me).  He comes back and wins by knockout with 1:30 left in the fight.

.....he also won fight of the night for his performance!

This one was similarly close to watching Rocky IV.  The Russian got tired from punching Darren in the face so many times, but just like when Darren was on the mat, he just kept going.

Guys one of my goals was to try to get a physical location set for our hall of fame.  I had a few locations in mind but just couldn't financially make it feasible just yet.

But Nick Stewart has worked on getting a beta version of our first ever online Hall of Fame.  We started with this years inductees and plan on working on way back with pics and bios.  This just came online yesterday so we have lots to update and modify but if you have any pics or bios you would like to submit please feel free to email them to me at tysongskinner@gmail.com

Scott has lots of bios from the past and we will start to go through them to get them added to the website but any and all help is welcome.

Super disappointed to be the last team in 3A................as I'm sure Oak Hill feels the same about 2A.  If we just went to teams with 3 or fewer wrestlers being pulled out, instead of 2 or fewer, we would have made it.....5 students kept us from being 2A

Thanks goes out to maligned and all of those involved in scoring...............I know that it is very tedious and time consuming work, that is often thankless.

I love the idea.............I'm not sure why we haven't went to this in any tournament settings in Indiana.  I don't think it's fair that the 195, 220, 285's have to wrestle while people are walking out of the venue.........every time.

Even if its the same weight for the entire series I wouldn't mind seeing a different weight for first and last each year. I know some of the lighter kids might not like it but I think it would be refreshing and help keep fans all the way through especially in the State championship matches.

Very tough day as a former athlete and a dad. Seeing your son experience a pain you can only console and not remove is heartbreaking. Especially when it's a 14yr old who's defied the odds all season, but fell a little short today. Yes, the equivalent of salt in the wounds is seeing athletes who your wrestler has beaten advance.......but as dads, if we can boast in the glory of our children's success......then we better be humble enough to not run from the reality of small failures.
With that said......The Allred's want to congratulate the Mazero family and specifically Joe for being the better wrestler today. Good luck at the Finals and continue to make your great Hamilton Southeastern program proud young man.
We also want to congratulate Jake Ruberg for bouncing back in a big way this week.
Awesome job done today by our Shenandoah squad by advancing 4 wrestlers to next week. 106-Black....126-Pugsley....138-Surguy & 160-Gee. Continued success to all these deserving young men.
