Bane gets escape in overtime to beat Ruberg! Score was 4-3!   If you are a fan this is why you come watch wrestling!  Two awesome kids with a great match, and still friends afterwards!   Ruberg sat out last year with an injury, watch out!

    Fellow wrestlers, coaches and fans,

This Saturday, November 7th, I will be playing a ton of video games on the Internet. I know what you're thinking: "Fabio, why is that different from any other sad, lonely weekend you have?" Well mean person who is not entirely wrong (but come on be cool with it) do I have some news for you. I will be raising money for Riley's Children Hospital in Indianapolis as part of the Extra-Life.org Charity Event. I will be playing games for 24 Hours live on the internet all to help the kids. I am joining a larger community of gamers from the site GiantBomb.com in hopes to raise a team total of $250,000. My current goal is $500 but depending on how fast I hit that it will be raised. I have a stretch goal of playing the game Def-Jam Rapstar once I hit my goal. That is a rap karaoke game on Xbox 360 for those who do not know so perfect opportunity to make myself look stupid.

I am looking for donations at the following link: http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.participant&participantID=172193

All donations are tax deductible and remember you will be helping sick kids which is an awesome thing to be apart of.

You can watch my shenanigans at www.twitch.tv/nickydubz there is even a chat that I will be monitoring if that's your thing. But if none of this tickles your fancy you can still donate and I hope you will for this awesome cause.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

It tells you how tough the IHPO is because he didn't place there, but gets second at a "prestigious national tourney."

As usual great job on the mag!!! Always fun to know wrestling season is right around the corner, and the pre season mag is here! Gotta give credit where credit is due...Indianamat is probably the best state specific wrestling site in the country and you guys def. take it with the preseason mag!

Vision Quest came out in 1985. Why is that relevant? You can only win state at one weight class. Last time I checked. Louden Swain is not walking in that door. There will not be fake lateral drops and Madonna music. Rypel has nothing to prove nor does Woods. Nor does Red or Lee. Besides the season hasn't began there maybe others who we may be over looking. My two Lincoln's.

If I remember right the guy who went on the vision quest (lauden) cut weight to get to him (shute). Now if you compared him to Rocky going after the Russian giant you might have something there!

Last year Blake wrestled up to 220 every opportunity that he could until the state series. He will do it again this year so maybe there will be an opportunity for him to see one of those guys. As far as the state finals go, he is not going to go an unnatural weight just for the enjoyment of the spectators. He already travels all over the country to compete against the best wrestlers.

Congrats to our Cadet All Americans Brayton Lee, Joe Lee, and Andrew Davison. The guys that went out late Coyle, Fair, Wetli, and Gray have nothing to be ashamed about. They all wrestled great tournaments, and this should help spring board them into success next season.

You might want to get an iron to unbunch your panties. I guess you are on the side of screw people for following the rules. Let's tell people they can't do something so they miss weddings, spend weekends and money just to "qualify" for an event then tell them...oh you didn't have to do that silly!

I'll summarize this topic for you since you are failing to comprehend it.
Someone asked about qualifications for Fargo based on Central Regionals. I stated, it is fruitless since if you really want to go to Fargo you can just ask and they'll let you go. The proof is in the pudding, there were 24/25 spots open for freestyle last year. You don't even need to qualify at state to go to Fargo if you wish. You give them the money and you're on the team. This isn't Illinois where every spot is hotly contested and placing at a regional is a BIG deal.

And finally, yes I will stand up and say something when it isn't right. Lying to people isn't right and I will definitely say something when an organization lies to their members.

bellrs reacted to wrealwrestler101 in Division I
I feel as if lots of kids these days are getting caught up in the idea of being Division I athletes. While being a Division I athlete is stellar, it isn't the only level. I feel as if being a Division I athlete is something you should shoot for and to train like, but you don't have to become one. You see kids with their social media bios saying "D1 dreams" or "D1 bound", or something of that nature, but I wouldn't want my kids getting caught up in the idea of that. You should use collegiate athletic scholarships as a stepping stone into the next phase of your life and to help you earn an education. Some Division I institutions don't offer the things you're looking for in life. When you choose a college, you should choose one that you are most comfortable with. I don't care if you're a state champion, placewinner, semi-state, regional, or sectional qualifier. If you want to continue to wrestle in college, you should do as you wish, and you should still work hard. Kids who were semi-state qualifiers and don't necessarily get that shot at being a Division I athlete for a top program shouldn't be down and out. You can be a semi-state qualifier in high school and continue to wrestle in college at a D2, D3, NAIA, or Junior College and still train hard to win something big. You may want it even more then because you didn't have it in high school. You can still train and become a national champion. I hear kids too often who love the sport that don't make it out of semi-state or regionals and quit the sport because they believe they're no good. Sometimes, it's just not your time, but in college you can still train at a higher and more intense level to become an All-American or champion. If you become a Division III national champion, you're not any less of a national champion than a Division I or Division II or any more of a national champion than an NAIA or Junior College. I just don't want my kids to believe that they have to quit doing something they love because they didn't get a big time shot or get as far as they hoped.

I'm from the inner city and where I'm from if you want someone to lose arbitrarily, you are a hater by definition. Not big hate, little hate like a petty individual. That's not saying you personally. Just anyone who throws salt on this kid who represents our state like you would dream for your own kid. When I'm older and greyest, I'll be aw telling my grands about this kid with the talent, swagger, and mentality and fancy pants who did it big time with flare.

Swallow his pride? He is ranked number 1 in the country. What more does he have to do? He didn't look huge to me. He looked like a 126lber. He wrestled 106 as a freshman. Nick Lee 126. No disrespect I believe Lee is bigger. James beat CJ in the offseason. CJ still won state. It's not CJ's job to wrestle Nick Lee. It's CJ's job to win state for New Pal and himself. All these mythical match ups mean nothing. All that he should make it happen stuff sounds to me like you want him to lose. That's terrible if you just want a kid to lose and he is not presently facing your kid, or a your kids teammate or club member. That's the unwritten rule or you sir have sour grapes. Nick Lee is great, matter of fact I had him against Micic. So nothing against him; who ever says they know for certain Lee would win are either clairvoyant or delusional.
