What teams will be there?

I was just informed that Brickens was not there, did not wrestle, and has not even been practicing yet due to a football injury. There was a first year freshman that competed in a few matches at 160. Those were his very first matches ever and it was best to ff the other ones.

I heard a few weeks ago that Nick was injured so even if he did wrestle other matches (not even sure he did) then he may just not have been at 100% yet. If you know Coach Red then you would know that the implication that he would let a wrestler "avoid" a match for any other reason is nonsense.

Kenny only lost 1 match and the best he could do after that was 5th) but that gave some other guys the opportunity to get more matches than they would have. Well run pre-season tournament! Great job Brownsburg guys and Mark Durham. The announcer was great all day too. Looking forward to this growing bigger next year.

Is there a list of wrestlers from IN going?

Hopefully they do for the sake of getting them all in the line up. I am sure it will work out and they will all do great wherever they end up. Blake is happy to move up to 70 for it. It should be an exciting year for the whole team!

I honestly don't see Ben making 152 past this weekend.

It is a shame that we cannot put together solid, full teams to represent our state in this dual. Why isn't anyone stepping up to go? Is it cost? Is it a lack of commitment and dedication from the older wrestlers in the state? If this was an elementary team, there would be a waiting list of people wanting to go. I just don't get it. If it is cost, what can be done to help with that? Someone from another state was telling me that they have the place winners sell raffle tickets or something like that and it covers their cost. That sounds like a great idea. If it is lack of interest or commitment, what can be done about that? This sounds like a good trip and a great, competitive tournament. I hope the teams can get filled before leaving.

The tournament website usually has a list of "free agents" looking for spots. The list I saw today had several tough middle schoolers on it. It may not be posted this year (I haven't looked) but the tournament director can send it to you.
