While I am not a fan of the IHSAA, trading one behemoth organization for another may not be the best thing for anyone, As Busstogate points out, with no child left behind, I am not sure where the DOE priorities would be. Also, as Y2 points out, we need to do a better job of getting our high school coaches involved in the process. If our coaches dont care enough to belong to the only group that seems to be the only access to the IHSAA in order to correct problems with the way the tournament is run, then why would the IHSAA care. Is this a harsh point of view, yes, if we get 100% of our coaches to belong will the IHSAA listen to them, nobody knows. It is however a good 1st step. We need to get our house in order before we try to get someone elses house in order. If you have a better idea to take proposals to the IHSAA, lets hear them. It seems to me the only group they are going to pay any attention to is the coaches association for any particular sport.
