  1. While I am not a fan of the IHSAA, trading one behemoth organization for another may not be the best thing for anyone, As Busstogate points out, with no child left behind, I am not sure where the DOE priorities would be. Also, as Y2 points out, we need to do a better job of getting our high school coaches involved in the process. If our coaches dont care enough to belong to the only group that seems to be the only access to the IHSAA in order to correct problems with the way the tournament is run, then why would the IHSAA care. Is this a harsh point of view, yes, if we get 100% of our coaches to belong will the IHSAA listen to them, nobody knows. It is however a good 1st step. We need to get our house in order before we try to get someone elses house in order. If you have a better idea to take proposals to the IHSAA, lets hear them. It seems to me the only group they are going to pay any attention to is the coaches association for any particular sport.
  2. Good luck to everyone involved tonight, from the wrestlers, to the coaches, fans, and officials both mat and event. And specifically to the WC wrestlers Michael Johnson-Jones, and Gabe Berry, lets keep the good times rolling.
  3. Hello, my name is Warrendad, and I have a problem..................... Is it a problem if you dont really care to fix it?
  4. I heard them exclaim as they went out of sight, Only one champoin per weight class is the right way we'll find out who that is, this Saturday night.
  5. As an HVAC tech, I got just 4 words for ya......stay away from me.........
  6. Wahoo for you, reminds me of something my uncle told me just before I got married, he said "Dave dont trust any man that tells you that he wears the pants in his family, he will lie to ya about other things as well".
  7. HVAC Service tech. installer, system designer, and all around smart a**. Currently studying to take the unlimited license exam next month.
  8. LOL - must be too many guys on the board to catch that one Well, someone caught it.....thats something... atleast it did not go completely to waste.
  9. While the IHSAA is not solely there to make money, it is a very large part of what they do. Until we can show them a way that wrestlebacks will put more money in their pockets, I see no way they go for such a proposal. We also need to figure a way around the arguemant that they give us for not allowing wrestlebacks. Their arguement has been how many times should a kid be allowed to get beat before we declare him out of the tourney.
  10. Do ya remember the trouble the PATS got into over spygate?
  11. Too funny... so is there a school web site? being that I have a senior in the house, it is of some interest to me. thanks for any info.
  12. Oh, and how did you enjoy your time there then? ;D ;D ;D
  13. So since you are using college as a source for going to class wrestling, does this mean you are in favor of sanctioned stalling ...opps, I mean riding time in high school as well?
  14. No, they are waxing the ice this year.....
  15. I dont know about laptops. I dont think there is an IHSAA regulation on this, as far as taping your kid, you can do it from the seats, and if I am not mistaken, the coach that is supposed to stay back by the wall and be quiet can tape as well.
  16. Berryman is a tough hard nosed kid, and I like his style alot, the kid cant feel pain. Napules is a very talented wrestler as well. I like both kids. However if I was to make a choice, I will go with Napules in a close match. There may not be 5 points scored in this one. If Berryman can keep the score down, and work for a late score, I would not be all that shocked though.
  17. You can leave that match blank, or just dont pick that side of the bracket. pick the top 3-4 and go from there. Or, put him where you want him to be, and just move on. Picking matches that your son is involved in is very difficult. Best of luck this weekend to both you and your son.
  18. My first question is can he beat Tonte? Tonte and Mcginley looked to be in the match of the day at NC and Tonte got caught in a scramble and was pinned thus ending the match abruptly. I seen on here somewhere they already wrestled and Tonte won, but doesn anyone know what the score of that match was? On saturday, Tonte was up 3-5 point, If memory serves, he got a take down and back points and during a scramble, he got stuck in a defensive pin. I thought the pin was called a bit quick. But it was called, and there is not much that can be done about it after the fact.
  19. Anderson Highland had 3 advance. 119 Eppert 125 Berryman 152 Bennett
  20. This is why you never assume. Johnson-Jones, NO, Berry yes. So you are 50% correct.
  21. I saw a study from the US department of statistics that said that 73.68% of all statistics were made up on the spot. www.us.gov/statistics I believe you are 200% correct! They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time -Brian Fantana But for the 60% of the time it works everytime, does it work 100% of the time?
  22. I saw a study from the US department of statistics that said that 73.68% of all statistics were made up on the spot. www.us.gov/statistics does that include that one? You caught me...... ;D But, have you heard that 68% of statisticians hate their jobs? I wonder what the odds are of that?
  23. I saw a study from the US department of statistics that said that 73.68% of all statistics were made up on the spot. www.us.gov/statistics does that include that one? You caught me...... ;D
  24. I saw a study from the US department of statistics that said that 73.68% of all statistics were made up on the spot. www.us.gov/statistics
  25. Can ya vote 4 times so you can pick each weight class? All 4 of those do in fact seem to be very stacked. Not one of those weights are for the weak hearted.
