AVON VARSITY Nov20 Plainfield Nov27@HSE Dec1@Cathedral 6-way Dec6@Brownsburg Dec8@Perry Triple Dual Dec11 Zionsville Dec15@Hendricks County Tournment (?)] Dec18@Greencastle Dec28,29 Evansville Mater Dei Holiday Classic Jan5Avon Super Six Jan9Ben Davis Jan12@Hoosier Crossroads Conference (Noblesville) Jan26@Sectional (Avon) Feb2@Regional (Mooresville) Feb9@Semi State (Evansville) Feb15,16@State
  2. McCloskey and Crume both going for 3-4 McCloskey lost to Mark Hall 3-0 in Semi's. Couldnt find Loe in brackets. Blake Rypal in finals@ 13-15 157lbs. Former Indiana boy Ryan Ford wins @13-15 125lbs.
  3. I know Wilkerson is tough but ahead of all those at SS last year? and is that the same Mitch Anderson from Mooresville last year?
  4. Avon has Athletic fees for each sport. they went up the last few years from a one time fee for all sports to a fee for each sport. 50 dollars for each, not sure where monies go. know we lost a paid coaching postion last year. until a few years ago the club never paid rental fees for use of wrestling room and now we have a contract that requires rent. We have bought needed supplies (new mat) in place of rent which is good for club and school.
  5. Noah Schweizer MD didn't wrestle in IHSAA state tournment but won Folkstyle state and took 3rd at Freestyle. think he will be soph.
  6. good to hear Burroughs say he had another Olympics in him.
  7. Hudkins Molloy will be tough for Danville. Ferguson for Reitz. Eckert at Jasper.
  8. Go to NBC Olympic page links for live coverage.
  9. at least the players win the badmitten and ping pong games and a judge doesn't decide it by push buttons like the boxing that is awful, GO USA
  10. BD and last year Dec.Central both benefit in big way getting away from Perry from sectionals on. and I think BD would be the farthest away from Eville, Brownsburg and Tri- West might be a little farther but not by much. all the Avon Sectional teams have quite the drive to Evansville. the 69 extention won't be done in time to do me any good.
  11. Thanks to everyone on the updates and pix this week.
  12. you are allowed 3 from outside your school system and based on size of school they can be in div.2, they could bump up if they choose and bigger school systems can put second teams in div.2 and out going seniors are allowed
  13. Is Perry RTC on for tonite and is it still 6-7:30 thanks
  14. Micic and Sliga in finals Tolley going 3/4 and Bernard takes 5th. Some may remember the name Trenton Watson from a few years back, going for 3/4 at 46K. He won Colarado 5a state at 106 this year.
  15. Gold takes 3rd Great Job!! best finish for Indiana ever @ this tournment
  16. I know I have seen before that not everyone follows youth scene as closly as those with kids involved in it but I am a bit shocked that so many people are surprised by Tommy Cash this kid has been busting his butt since he was 5-6 yrs. old, he has trained with anybody and everybody. He lost to Boston 2-0 if I remember right at New Castle SS finals and only finished 5th because of the way they set up state (lost to Micic first round Sat) He will win at least one before it is over. also has done very well on National scene just placed @ Iowa Folkstyle Nat. beating an Ill. champ and losing to Ohio state champ. You want to know who THE up and comers for next year check out your ISWA book kids who names repeat at all styles and every year over and over are the ones with the background to do big things in HS. not saying some come out of the blue cause they do but the ISWA is doing a great job of giving the kids who WANT TO every chance to compete and improve. Tommy Cash is a STUD. has been a pleasure watching this kid grow into a young man. Good Luck Tommy you know we are always in your corner except in the first round, cause that's where we always seem to draw you!!!LOL Lee Harris Avon Wrestling Club
  17. with the younger kids it has always been the case, baseball, soccer. after spring break we never have more than 6 to 12 novice and below. older kids same thing in that other sports, girls, and jobs have kept them from coming out. maybe next week @ the team trials some of our Indiana boys can change some minds of younger wrestlers that that the season doesn't end when the wheather gets nice. the folkstyle off season has also blown up with Disney, Miltia and more regional the Duals all over Michigan in the summer. choices have to made alot of these happen same weeks, plus cost which is the biggest reason.
  18. Just recieved text from Coach Brewer Indiana Gold IS 3-0 Blue is 1-2 White 0-3 Indiana Outlaws are 2-1, only have indiv. results for a few of the Avon boys Carson Brewer Nathen Conley and Trey Lane all undeafeated. Go Indiana
  19. yes once up and running things went fine and the cause over shadowed all that. his parents were wonderful dad handed out all the awards and mom took care of the refs and table help with waters and food. excellent cause hope this event grows.
  20. anybody have any info? it is not in ISWA book seen it on track pre register by fri. but no cost, times or any other info.
  21. I was right down there too didnt hear the comments probably fueled the fire for sure
  22. He (Ramos) as well as all the Iowa fans thought all Steiber did was stall. Ramos did a little impression of it after he got in Steibers face.
