  1. I think Army, Air Force, North Idaho College, Indiana, and Rutgers will all have at least one Indiana native registered.
  2. Does anyone have the video links for the following two videos that were posted quite a while ago: 1) The blast cradle video of the trainer (Cornell maybe?) 2) A funny video made of different pinning combos such as "the mechanic" I know that isn't a lot of detail, but I am sure some wrestling fanatics know what I am talking about!
  3. Red's win over Lemont is a big deal! Lemont won Cadet FS last year and also won Junior GR last year (as a first year cadet). 2 days ago Lemont won Junior GR yet again as a 2nd year Cadet. What is even more impressive...Lemont is wrestling BOTH Cadet and Junior FS right now. He is going for 3rd in Cadet FS tomorrow and is still on the top side of the bracket in Juniors. Not to mention Lemont wrestled both Cadet and Junior Duals in both styles. Now that is a lot of wrestling!
  4. there's air conditioning in every dorm...including the one we are staying in!
  5. I have been out here 13 of the last 15 years and this is no where near the hottest. Plus for the rest of the week it's a high in the low 80s. The FargoDome is air conditioned (which is where all of te athletes are instructed to be during the day) and there are air conditioned lounges in each dorm as well.
  6. How about NAIA Eligibility Center(EC) and EC ID#?
  7. Two weekends ago we participated at the NAIA National Championships. We finished a program best 6th in the country. Jake Williams won the title at 149# and Cody Linton was runner-up at 184#. Zeke Hunt (GA) earned his 2nd AA with a 6th place finish. Zeke is the only varsity member of our team graduating. We are going to be very strong next season, especially with some of the recruits we are brining in. Zeke along with Indiana native, Steven Sandefer, were both named NAIA Scholar-Athletes as well. They've both represented Cumberland with pride and we are very proud of them.
  8. Unfortunately his season was cut short by a career ending injury. That did not stop him in the classroom though! Sandefer was named a Daktronics NAIA Academic All-American. He boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.6. Congrats to Steven for this outstanding accomplishment! Also, Cumberland finished a program best 6th place in the country. We also had 2 finalists for the first time in school history. Jake Williams won the National Championship at 149#. He finished the season with a 36-2 record (both losses were NCAA D1). Cody Linton was the runner-up at 184#. He finished the season 21-4 with 3 of those losses coming from the guy that beat him for the title...all by 1 point. Zeke Hunt, along with Sandefer, was named Academic All-American. Hunt is also the first and only in school history to be a 2x All-American (8th last season and 6th this season) AND a 2x Academic All-American. Great season to our Bulldogs!
  9. Cumberland University will be headed down to Life University to compete in the NAIA East Region Qualifier. The top 4 from each weight class will qualify for nationals. Currently the teams ranked nationally at #2, #5, #8, and #9 are the top 10 ranked teams in our qualifier. Dalton Baysinger (Yorktown, '13) and Kirk Johnson (Perry Meridian, '12) will be competing for the Bulldogs.
  10. Kirk Johnson (Cumberland) won the title at 165#. Neal Molloy (Danville) earned 3rd place at 157#. Luke Blanton (Alexandria) earned a runner-up finish at 149#. He lost a thrilling OT match to Cumberland's 2x AA Jake Williams (20-0 on the season so far). There were some great scrambles and it was a high scoring match! Great to see Indiana kids excelling and bringing home hardware!
  11. We had an issue with Mike Evans last season when we dualed Iowa. Our true freshman (and Indiana native), Kirk Johnson, took him down twice in the first period. Evans was not happy about that especially cause he was ranked 4th in the country. Johnson chose bottom to start the 2nd period and KJ told us that Evans was chirping in his ear the entire period about how he was going to hurt him and rip his fu***** arm off. Well, he did just that. KJ didn't wrestle another match the entire season and had shoulder surgery about 2 weeks later. It is truly unfortunate that this is the mentality some wrestlers have.
  12. Wrestling starts at 10am. #4 Campbellsville #5 Great Falls #8 Cumberland (TN) #11 Indiana Tech #19 Oklahoma City University # Missouri Baptist
  13. Trent, We are having the same issue here. Our AD doesn't want us traveling to St. Louis for the Kaufman-Brand Open. If you do travel, travel safely.
  14. Cumberland University's dual vs. Life University is LIVE AND FREE tonight. Check out Steven Sandefer (Mishawaka), Dalton Baysinger (Yorktown) and Kirk Johnson (Perry Meridian) in action! The match starts at 6pm CENTRAL. http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/cu.portal#
  15. We compete against regional opponent Life U tonight. All three Indiana wrestlers will be in the lineup. Updates will be posted following the dual. Live updates can be seen by following our Twitter (@WrestlingCU) and our team Facebook... https://www.facebook.com/CumberlandUniversityWrestling
  16. Cumberland University (TN) will travel to the Indiana Tech duals on Saturday Dec. 14th. We will have three Indiana guys in the starting lineup. If you aren't competing/working that day, make your way to Fort Wayne to watch several top 15 ranked teams in the NAIA compete. Cumberland University wrestlers from Indiana competing: Dalton Baysinger - Yorktown HS ('13) Steven Sandefer - Mishawaka HS ('09) Kirk Johnson - Perry Meridian HS ('12)
  17. Indiana was well represented on behalf of Cumberland U! Kirk Johnson claimed the title at 165#. Steven Sandefer (157#) and Dalton Baysinger (141#) each earned 3rd place honors.
  18. We have three Indiana wrestlers on the squad this season: Steven Sandefer - Mishawaka Kirk Johnson - Perry Meridian Dalton Baysinger - Yorktown They are all doing great. We are expecting all three to start for us this year and likely Steven and Kirk will be ranked top 5-7 when the first rankings come out. We have our Alumni dual and wrestle-offs this Saturday. Here is a link to a small promo for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgHq2QfFZNQ Here is a link to last season's highlight video that Coach Allen made for the guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1Bblh-h7dc Be sure to follow updates and results for the program on the following social networking sites as well: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CumberlandUniversityWrestling Instagram: WrestlingCU Twitter: @WrestlingCU We are ready for an outstanding season. We will be in Fort Wayne on December 14 to dual Indiana Tech. More information to come on that in the future. Be sure to support all Indiana wrestlers and wrestlers around the country! Coach Nicola
  19. I've used EI at every college, high school and middle school I've ever coached at. I couldn't be happier with Jeff and all he does. We get our stuff personalized, it's done with a very high level of quality, and I get everything back quick no matter where I am in the country.
  20. Not sure if it had been posted yet, but Marian in Indy is starting up a NAIA program. Their coach emailed me and said they'll be club for the first two years then NAIA eligible. That's great news for Indiana wrestking!
  21. The Bulldogs had a great showing at the CU Open this past Saturday. There were representatives from NAIA, NCAA D1, D2, and Juco schools. Eight Bulldogs placed in the top 4 and we had 5 finalists (3 Champions). Among those Champs was Mishawaka native, Steven Sandefer, who won the tournament in dominating fashion. The wrestler ranked 3rd in the country (NAIA) placed 4th in this same weight class. South Bend native, Joe Gallegos, made the bump to heavyweight for the remainder of the season and placed 4th. In the process he defeated the 15th ranked (NAIA) wrestler from Lindsey Wilson. I'd also like to note that Evansville native Trevor Moody (Indiana University) won the 141 lb. weight class defeating a returning NAIA All-American in the finals. Great job, Trevor. We will be in action tomorrow against 11th ranked U of the Cumberlands and then again at the Central Baptist Open in Arkansas.
  22. I am interested as well. anicola@cumberland.edu
  23. Cumberland competed at the Patriot Open yesterday. Jared McKinley went undefeated and won the 141 lb weight class. Steven Sandefer took 3rd at 149. For third place he defeated the wrestler that beat him earlier in the tournament. Kirk Johnson took 2nd place, majoring the wrestler ranked #8 in the country at NAIA. Joe Gallegos took 2nd at heavyweight. He weighed in at 199 lbs because he will be wrestling 197 this coming Friday. We next compete on Friday at the UTC duals in Chattanooga. CU will dual NCAA #2 Iowa, Virginia, and UTC.
