  1. Crown Point should win their first 2 matches, but then they wilhave to beat a very tough Cathederal team before they will meet Mishawaka. Also, if it happens, what happened to Beck from Mishawaka? I don't see his name in the 2 predictions.
  2. BlueBolt: Thanks for all the extended info on the info I was hoping to get on the Indy and Evansville areas. I don't know what you do for a living, but you would make a great comedian.
  3. I saw Bruno get beat at Stagg and last night at Mich City. I really don't think his heart is in wrestling. He has all the skill and speed necessary to be a force, but like I said I don't think he wants to be wrestling. Two years ago, even with a bad wrist, he gave Asa Ennis from John Glenn his only loss until the state finals, so he does have the skill. Right now, I don't think he should be ranked.

  5. Was this an idividual or dual tourney? It sure would be nice if someone could post who the undefeated wrestlers or the top wrestlers in each weight class. were. The Indianapolis and Evansville areas sure don't want the rest of the state to know how their wrestlers are doing.
  6. Region Rat: Roach did win in overtime, but it is pretty hard to score on someone that won't wrestle. The kid from Romeoville was undefeated but stalled the whole match He would wrestle on the edge of the mat and when Roach would shoogt he would step out of bounds. The ref called him for stalling early in the second period but when questioned by Crown Point's coach why doesn't he call stalling again and the ref told him he would hate to see a kid lose a match because he called a stalling point against him. Well CP did lose one matcvh in overtime because a stalling point was called to end the match. Believe me, when you are the only Indiana school against 11 Illinois schools you are not going to get any breaks or close calls to go your way. I don't know why CP continues to go there. I think they would be better off if they could try to get invited to the Harvest classic or someplace where Indiana refs ae used and graded by our coaches.
  7. Fabio Jr.: You say you have wrestled both of them. You ae a sophmore in college and little Tsirtsis is a freshman i high school. That is about 6 years different in age whereasas Harper is only about 3 years older than Jason. I'd pick Jason by decision, although it would be close.
  8. region fan#1: What are you the number 1 fan of "a girls volly ball team? Apparently you haven't been around wrestling too long if you think Harper woould pin Wright, Cashe and little Tsirtsis. You have to wrestle to pin someone, you can't do it by stalling. I would like to see Harper wrestle all 3 this coming Saturday. You might be right , but the odds of it him pinning all 3 of them are astranomical.
  9. Crown Point -- Kent Swinehart, undefeated state champ in the 70's.
  10. I would alsol like to extend my sincere thanks for starting IndianaMat. The only reason I bought a computer was to follow Indiana High School wrestling throughout the state. It sure was miserable spending the whole Thanksgiving weekend without getting any wrestling info. Our school used to wrestle in a 2 day 11 team dual meet after Thanksgiving , which I sure miss and another thing that made the weekend miserable was the snow on the ground, whch made it difficult for us to golf. Thanks again.
  11. Hey Booker T: You better not let your wallet get too close to your gut feeling as far as Dillon beating Roiach. Maybe you didn't hear that little Roach won a National title at 145 poundsthis fall.
  12. Good effort, although I believe there will be many changes in the weights and I'm not sure what weight Myers from CP will be at. No matter what if he goes 171 I'll still take him over Atwood. He should have finished 2ndat 160 last year. He was ahead of Duckworth 8-2 but was in the down position and couldn't do anything because he was wrestling with a torn ACL. He is awsome and is my pick to be on the top step of the podium, either at 160 or 171.
  13. CP vs Chesterton 103 Saroff dec Chovcalas 13-6 112 Halsted dec Kelly 5-2 119 Hawkins beat Allison Pin 125 Manes beat Petrocelli Pin 130 Tsirtsis dec Thornton 9-1 135 SchurgdecGillespie 13-5 140 Roach dec Butz 20-4 145 Flamme dec Garvey 6-3 152 Bruno beat Caicopolia Pin 160 Pogorzelski dec Quiroz 6-4 (ovt) 171 Myers beat Sanchez Pin 189 Shrewsbury beat yates Pin 215 Baka;ik beat Hultman Pin Hwt Marshall won FFT These are the scores that were in the Times. I was at the Merrillville-Valparaiso match, which was won by Merrillville 57-24. It should be interesting when Merrillville and Crown Point hook up on December 17.
