Fat Grappler is looking to help as many kids I can.

IHSWCA Hall of Fame inductee Coach George "Giggy" Gardner passed away on March 24 in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Giggy was a talented wrestler at Lawrenceburg and after a stint in the United States Navy graduated from Northern Kentucky University.  He was a long-time teacher and coach at South Dearborn.  Giggy has a 359-150-1 record as a head wrestling coach at South Dearborn and was inducted into the IHSWCA Hall of Fame in 2022.  

Visitation services for Giggy will be on Sunday, April 3 between 5:00-8:00 PM at South Dearborn High School gymnasium in Aurora, Indiana.

Not sure if people will want the fate or their wrestler in the hands of a committee that has possibly never seen him/her wrestle.  Let the kids wrestle to get the spot.  Wrestle backs, make a kid prove he deserves to be there and leave the decision making to the wrestlers on the mat.

personally I would go to 15 weights with adjusting  weight classes with additional weight being added up top also.  Never for taking away an opportunity from a kid.  I know people struggle filing all the weights but I am selfish and would want the most chances for kids to see varsity wrestling as they can.  Also I like adding it up top as another spot to help encourage the football players to give wrestling a try.

Well true but it is central between the two sectionals sites.

Go to an RTC and talk while it’s going on and interview kids at it. 

I got DQd for an illegal slam my second to last match as a senior, I hadn't lost in a regular season match in 3 years. It molded me, it shaped me, I learned from it....
 
I learned to take the dub if ever happens to me and I'm in the corner coaching, you all are soft. You obviously didn't grow up on Jesse the Body Ventura and Bobby Heenan.... What poor role models you must of had. 

Aren't both teams "dodging" the competition, just in different ways?

You aren't eligible at that weight if you didn't make scratch. 

Will the tournament not cost any weigh in points?

I don’t believe any wrestler that is in our state truly has a choice whether they can seek out top level national competition or only wrestle in their back yard.....in season. Understandably you can seek out whoever you want to wrestle in the offseason, but in season they are at the mercy of their coaches and AD’s. And if someone beats everyone that’s put in front of them, whether it’s back yard or not, thats great, and only a handful of people in the state do it every year. 
 
As as far as the post on Jordy Fulks, Boonville has wrestled local teams (pretty much every southwestern indiana team in PAC, Big 8, and SIAC, I believe except Gibson southern, forest park, and Mater Dei), and also wrestled Union County, KY.
